everyone forgets the industries being closed were losing money, british everything aside from engineering was utterly shite, thanks to scargill and his like. this is a period when we were on our knees as a nation as cyprus is today.. begging for money off the imf, reduced working week, daily brownouts, we were a laughingstock

Why are you so dishonest in your quoting? Anyone can take snippets of things said by someone over a very long career to slander them, but when you actually contextualise and provide the full speech few of those things are as bad as you are making out.

She also had her own rivers of blood speech, "I understand the views of those who fear we are being swamped", just once, just enough to take enough votes off a resurgent National Front to get elected. Spoiled BHM's big moment there. You bet she hated immigrants. The black ones. White South Africans were cool. Especially if they could run. Or we thought they could run. Zola Budd. Pfft.

O I thought that I closed businesses that were turning a profit and doing a really good job. Do you mean to say that these industries were a total drain on our country, dragging us all down for the sake of a few flat headed northern monkeys?

Here's the first thing you quoted in context:

The wider context to that is the social context.

'I'm homeless, the government must house me.' - If you have no income how the fuck are you supposed to house yourself, when all land and housing is owned by private interests, mostly wealthy private interests?

'There's no such thing as entitlement, unless someone has first met an obligation.' What obligation is someone supposed to meet in order to put a roof over their heads in a cold, wet country?

A state such as ours with so many dependents demanding more year on year is simply unsustainable. Either we cut the apron strings or we all go down. At the end of the day it was cheaper to pay much of the North, Scotland, and Wales, to do nothing, than it was to pay them to do something so they felt like they were doing something. Did they create that situation by demanding more and more for less and less? Or did politicians actually want to give them more than their time was worth?
 
If the idiot has no objection to making jokes about my death, then there is some disappearance of moral high ground which they have been claiming. The whole 'joke' started with some 'outrage' at the way we were talking about Thatcher. Claiming some moral high ground. High ground collapsed.

I'm not claiming moral high ground. I'm sure there's philosophical holes in pissing on someone's grave but I don't care nor do I claim to care. But to claim to care about some moral outrage and then willingly wish death on someone, completely incomparable in context - I never made it to PM - is probably a little more than losing the moral high ground.
