Your all forgetting that near enough all the infrastructure put in place to get all the oil out of the sea was paid for by the UK, hence financed in London. If you think those Cuntish bankers are gonna let you just up and keep all the black gold for yourselves, frankly you're deluded. Even so the piddly amount of oil produced up there still doesn't make you a net contributor to HMRC. Good luck to you if you wanna go for it though, at least you will get rid of the Tory's once and for all.

:?

I don't think you understand what HMRC does. Scotland most definitely is a net contributor to HMRC. I don't know if it's a net contributor to the UK or not.

urbain, youve just repeated your previous, flawed argument. i cant be arsed to type it again, so just read it again, properly this time. scots law and especially the complete white elephant that is the scottish parliament plus building - dont mean shit, when you become independant, it is internal british law, applicable to scotland as an entity within the united kingdom can you not process that through your drink addled, vitamin d deficient, thick scotch-egg skull?

You can't even spell independent ya fucking weirdo.

Was gonna complain about the thread title. Then I noticed that the New Statesman is apparently undecided on how to spell it too - http://www.newstatesman.com/politic...-trade-unions-are-shifting-favour-indepenence.

Can we have it spelled correctly though please - has been bugging me all afternoon :!

Lol, seems BHM isn't the only cunt who needs a better spellchecker.

i dont understand why scotland puts up with this oppression. its like mel gibson fought for nothing

=D

^ This sums up the 'Yes Vote' campaign.

I've seen the 'better together' & whateverthefuckitscalledyesvote adverts at the cinema. The better together video is so much better in terms of the message it is getting across.

I can't find the yes advert on YouTube but essentially it just keeps showing black & white ominous pictures of David Cameron / Westminster making them out to be fascists or whatever & asking if you want your children to grow up in 'that country'.

I mean, what fucking nonsense. They are just playing on public opinion of the current Government to try & win over votes. It's got nothing to do with Westminster oppressing Scotland or whatever.

I seriously hope people see sense.

Scottish Independence: J.K. Rowling donates £1 to Pro-UK group

Explaining her decision on her website, Ms Rowling said there was a "denial of risks" within the "Yes" campaign.

Very much my concern.

"The simple truth is that Scotland is subject to the same 21st century pressures as the rest of the world.

"It must compete in the same global markets, defend itself from the same threats and navigate what still feels like a fragile economic recovery.

I would vote for the Union regardless, but the economy is really the sticking point in the yes votes campaign. There is just too much risk with it all. Things might work out 10-20 years from now if it went through... but our economy could well go down the toilet for the immediate future.

Read how the the uk government got Obama to make a statement pro indpendence, using the BBC to put the question (illegaly). http://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2014/06/bbc-lawbreaking/

J K Rowling just knows which side her millions are buttered (ie the city of london banking/tax haven nexus).

There's only one argument worth having re independence imo: democracy - i'd rather have a government that represented me than have a share of the blood money of the city of london scum, even if that means dropping national income (which isn't certain anyway). Salmond is obviously neo-liberal like the rest, but once there's a chance they'll win, smaller more left wing parties will start to have more chance i think (/hope) (corporate media octopus notwithstanding) - at least to match the known preferences of the scottish people (or the welsh for that matter)

For me a good guide to whether my opinions are right is who's against - the uk elite are pooping themselves and chucking all propaganda they can muster aginst independence (including the BBC) - that's enough for me

If Scotland does vote yes and independence eventually becomes a reality, does that officially make it worse to call somebody from Scotland a porridge wog? :?

Let's see what our resident Scots think, eh Dan? :D

Seriously, is it somehow a worse insult if Scotland does secede from the Union? Cos then it's like, proper xenophobia, y'know?
