Ben, I've been listening to El Camino over and over again all evening <3

Snap! <3

Since we mentioned it I too have fallen in love all over again. What a magical album it is. I used to hate the last track Mind Eraser because it signaled the end of the album. Someone pointed out to me that when that track comes one you are only one track away from Lonely Boy. That cheered me up. =D<3

Great work posting the entire album btw. Classic in the making.

There must be something in the Yorkshire air, I think.. I love the new album, too. *boing*
Terrorvision - Pushover

Boing boing indeed. Great pogo music. I agree their new album is very good. I think they have done a better job than the mighty Wildhearts have done lately.

I love PHUQ however, I never picked that one up off the shelf, I asked at the desk for it by name, I had too:

The Wildhearts - Caprice

That opening riff is proper. Proper good. <3

The Wildhearts? Fucking hell. I loved them as a fourteen-year-old. Got me into a lot of good stuff.

I've started playing guitar (purely as accompaniment) and singing again. Like a million other guys who dreamed of being rock stars. Get me. I used to genuinely have a good voice; now it's not technically good at all, but husky and soulful. So I can only sing in C&W-style baritone keys. Which is handy, as you only need to use a small selection of chords. And the 'chicks' love it because it's just that bit fragile.

I'm really enjoying it. Especially singing this one around people who don't get the fact that this was recorded by a bunch of fucked-up addicts. One of the few takes on Sweetheart where the version with Gram's vocal isn't quite as effective.

But what the fuck do I type this stuff for? People will see my avatar, gloss over it and then enthuse about some disposable disco remix churned out by bisexual Austrians with overstyled hair. Not that being bisexual or Austrian is a negative thing, but hey - I'm ranting today.

Anyway, I do this really well. Finally built confidence in my own voice and phrasing after years of having none. I was really stoked to play it to my buddy, and I thought he'd be really happy that I was enjoying music again. Maybe he just gets sick of hearing people play, but it was really important to me at the time. And it was good too. The confidence has since withered on the vine. He didn't mean it; he just ain't much of a cheerleader.

Anyway, here we go: The Byrds - The Christian Life :D

Almost totally deadpan. How many people took it seriously? Brilliant.

That's great Myshkin. I too have recently picked my guitar again after a long time gathering dust. One day I will play Wembley. I know it =D

It's a game really I suppose but I have learnt a few new tunes from it and it could be considered a learning tool. Rocksmith is what has done it. None of those plastic clicky things that Guitar Hero and Rock Band use. Plugs your real guitar in and it picks up the notes. The cable is worth it alone I think because it turns your guitar into a digital guitar that can be recorded into any audio program in Windows.

edit. Brimz I have only recently discovered Half Man Half Biscuit after seeing a cover of the Trumpton theme. An old mate used to go on about them all the time. I should have listened to him. Enjoyed that track, thanks.

They're definitely a band I'd be glad to pay a lot to go see. Hopefully they'll come to these parts soon :D

Forgot to mention this at the time Pagey I missed them on the El Camino tour because I was experiencing...ahem...difficulties, but I would bet my house on them playing Glastonbury this year. If you look at their tour schedule they are playing festivals all summer but mysteriously doing nothing on the weekend of Glastonbury. Not that you can get tickets or anything anymore but at least we might get to see them on the telly.

I never for the life of me would have put these two artist together, but it works and the video is excellent:

The Black Keys / RZA - The Baddest Man Alive

Ah, yes, glad I'm not the only one to think that.. I'm just quietly ignoring the WH's recent stuff.. ;)

Yeah shame really. I did really like some of the Silver Ginger 5 stuff:

Silver Ginger Five - Anyway But Maybe

Big phat riff and sickly sweet melodic vocal. Sweet. As in nice. <3

Aw that sucks. I didn't really know them at the time so can't say I tried. Would be pretty cool if they played Glastonbury although I'd probably get insanely jealous of anyone who managed to get tickets =D
