Oh right lol. I see. Like aerodynamics? So one side of the ball is rougher than the other leading to drag, while the other side is shinier causing it to swing down one or other side of the batsman? Seems very clever.
Brimz, being a local boy have you ever been to see Gloucester in Bristol? Thinking about taking my boy this year.
Hi mate.
I'm Somerset born n bred & lucky to be born at a time when we were blessed with the best 2 players in the world . My Dad took me to the Cricket from an early age i loved it & will be eternally grateful to him for putting me on to The real Beautiful Game .
I have been to Gloucester though . Last time was a 3rd day of a Somerset v Gloucester game . We saw 14 wickets in a day . It was good cricket but i don't like the Ground as much as Taunton .
Taunton may have a flat pitch & be a Batsman's paradise but it has got better in recent years . If i was taking a Kid i would think Taunton would be more fun cos it's closer to the wicket & you will probably get more boundaries . Keep the lad interested . How old is he ntw ?
No problem . I 'll pm you later this week with some more information if you want .
Miandad , a legend . Not really in the mood to talk about fielding positioning after that debacle. What the fuk was he thinking ? A temporary lapse i hope .I've been to Cheltenham Ladies College Brimz. Gloucester v Sussex, 1977, Mike Proctor bowling off the wrong foot for Gloucester (I always thought that was well weird) and Javed Miandad hitting sixes for fun. At one point they had all the fielders out on the ropes so Miandad started to DELIBERATELY edge balls. Can you imagine how hard that is? Field comes into catch, six hitting resumes. I think he got about 150 in 3/4 of a day.
