I think the best and most unique ones just happen. They are special names for a special person!! Often they are the most ridiculous too...one of the names I had for my ex was "Beluga." I'm not quite sure how I came up with that one, as he looks nothing like a beluga whale... though I do think they're super cute and I want to squish one!!! Must be because that's how I felt about him <3 He would call me "Boogy" - derived from "booger breath." I don't eat my boogers though, I usually flick em somewhere; I dunno what HE was thinking :)

A few of my favorites that I use:
darling
mr cute
honey bunch

I also tend to mix it up from the usual "I love you" and use a different verb... "Adore" and "cherish" are two that come to mind.

&I personally LOVE being referred to as "sweetheart" for some reason. Babe/baby, not so much.

Food-related pet names are sickeningly cute.
 
Hahahaha some might think that I am weirdo for my own 'terms of endearment'. Now that I can recall, there are quite a few of 'names' that I used to call 'her', such as;

Woman
Girl
Beibei
Bei
Sexy
Bitch
Pig
Baby

Ahhh the good ol times :\:\:\
 
I forgot two other terms I used:
Pagey
Beachcat

Those two terms mean a lot to me ;)
 
I think it really tends to be a "per person" basis really..

Right now.. I'm Kitten.. and He's puppy.. Odd I know.. But Im a cat. and well.. Hes a wolf at heart so..

I've had a -
Psycho Bunny ( Bunny for short)
Sugar Bear
Pickky (Odd I know but it came from his last name)

My little Girl is Pookie, My Son in Boogie (as in the boogie board not the thing from your noise people)

My eldest gets all sorts of things
Punkie-roo
Punkinhead
Brat-ly
 
Isnt this a bit like asking what color tie should I wear with this shirt - not knowing what color shirt your wearing?

I use the word 'Treasure' a lot when talking to friends . This will get shortened to Treash. I also use the word Hon / Honey / love etc when talking to female friends

My pet name for my other half changes every now and then depending on what we have been doing, where we have been, what has made us laugh etc.
