Why is gay sex so filthy and raunchy?

Taking example of people who seek out other people to fuck on craigslist, "bath houses" and porn is definitely an extremely small niche of gay sex, and even sex in general. With two gay men there's a chance of it being raunchy but just as much as there being a chance of a female wanting to get whipped and slapped around...saying something like "why is gay sex so raunchy" is pretty offensive IMO. Maybe ask around to gay couples who don't go out to swingers clubs / partake in drug fueled sex...

Ok ... but why then are hetero and lesbian/bi girls on Craigslist less raunchy? Why are they less raunchy in lifestyle clubs? Even when on tonnes of drugs?

but really...Isn't it obvious? It's not like a girl is going to post "Looking for a female to RAM A FUCKING LARGE BLACK DILDO INTO SO I CAN OBTAIN DOMINANCE" (most likely not at least...) Men have penises, penises are a symbol of "power" for a reason. I'm not as smart as you, obviously, so pardon my meager attempts at having an opinion. Maybe you're mistaking raunchy for men trying to hold some kind of power over another being an do that through crude fetishes...? idk, just throwing stuff out there.

Well, making a generalization that gay sex is filthy and raunchy is going to be offensive to certain people. The way most of us do it(in my experience) is neither filthy nor raunchy, but in Rangrz's very limited experience, he's come across enough evidence to warrant asking the question, I guess. I don't know, I can't provide an answer as I don't get down like that.

I would postulate that these men have been degraded so much by society that it has become part of their personal makeup, and they continue to perpetuate that cycle with each other. Does that make any sense at all?

I think people have different preferences for the kind of sex they enjoy, that's all. How does society degrade people in this sense, just curious?

I think it's interesting that Rangrz as well as his partner have noticed this, and they seem to be a very open minded couple of people. If you get to know Rangrz, he's a very open minded person and isn't homophobic at all, and I know he meant no offense by this thread.
 
Hey Cap, I don't have any problem with Rangrz, and he certainly doesn't seem homophobic to me. He's been in gay bath houses more than I have(which is none lol)! Like I've said before, I am not a consumer of the sort of porn he has mentioned either..I simply can't relate. So as far as I'm concerned he's asking a valid question, and I've been trying to provide valid responses, insofar as I can within my also limited experience(being 30, and gay and whatnot).

Well, society in general in america isn't so accepting of gay people. It's particularly problematic if someone is raised in a religious household, or in rural areas. When you grow up being called a faggot, being beaten by bullies and your stepfather, and raised in the Catholic Church which tells you that you're going to hell for being gay, it tends to fuck you up a little bit. Soooooo many people grew up in much worse conditions than what I just mentioned, which was my childhood. People who are physically and mentally abused, taught to hate themselves, etc, tend to be a little fucked up. My sex life is essentially normal, and I'm pretty well adjusted in comparison to many gay guys, but I can see how those who are less resilient might engage in the sort of sex and get off on the sort of porn he's mentioned. Plus when you add things like crystal meth...sure I can see it. I'm not a psychologist, so I can't say for sure, these are just sort of my thoughts on the matter.

We didn't really think about this (considering we didn't grow up gay). I think you have a point. Actually, I'm quite convinced you have a point because look at the subset of the female population that does raunchy, degrading stuff. The girls who grew up getting abused, molested, ran away from home, extreme religious upbringing and sexual repression, etc. are the ones that typically get into porn and prostitution. (No evidence for this one but I have read it from a number of sources, and I'm sure there are exceptions but pretty sure that comprises the majority).
I guess when someone grows up in a fucked up environment, especially a sexually charged one, they end up fucked up sexually and want to do or feel compelled to, or are even just more comfortable/accepting of raunchy sex acts.
 
rangza, I think you have a bit of a sampling bias going on here. You are basing your understanding of gay sex off what you are reading on craigslist, bath houses, sex on site premises, and when you have been around gay friends who have let youy watch. Of course thi going to seem raunchy to you as you seeing the most extreme end of the spectrum. You are not basing it also on the sex that gay men have privately in their own beds (either casually or as a couple). I am sure that would be much different. Rather, you are seeing the more deviant or 'adventurous' of their sexcapades. It also seems like drugs, particularly meth might be involved. Also, using gay porn as a means to give insight into gay sex is a bit flawed too. As we both know (as heterosexual dudes), straight porn isn't representative of straight sex either.
 
As for why the lesbian and M2W craigslist adds are not as raunchy as the gay ones, I think I know.

It is all about the best way to have success in hooking up with the person. Most men would realise that going up to a woman and saying something like 'I want to ram my dick up you arse and then have choke on your own shit', is not going to work in real life or on the internet. You have to use a bit more tact. However, to a particular subset of gay men this might be more appealling. Men can be alot more direct with another in order to get laid. With the vast majority of women, such directedness is a turn off or spells out danger.

I find it pretty hard to believe that you can walk into any room and have your pick of the women in there. There is quite a big divide between fantasy and reality.

Yeah I find some women prefer to have a false sense that the guy is really into them, instead of just trying to get sex out of them.

I think this because of the number of women I have known to set themselves up for relationship (read: relationshit) failure by thinking a guy is more into them than he really is. And it seems that the same type of women have this same occurrence happen rather frequently; I'd assume after one incidence like that you'd learn what's up, and it wouldn't keep happening to them over and over again.
