You take that risk every time you raise your boot above your hips. He did have a glance, no denying that. It is a split second decision sure, but thats what professional athletes have to make every day. Cop it sweet, and move on. It wasn't a final and I doubt they would have beaten another team this season any way.

Waits patiently for Rooney end of season sook and contract negotiation.

The double is still on at least! Im hoping for a really nice back lash to shut up TLM :) I think though its fergies final seasons and the frustration was obvious to see, the fact the mourino seems to so apologetic and basically "licking arse", hes not had a bad word to say about anything, maybe he knows what his next move is going to be.,

Watching Celtic, hoping for a miracle. I hate Juve with a passion, saw some of their fans driving to the stadium just before honking in their cars, if they win they'll make noise all night.

With the expection of Barca and Arsenal , Jose does that with every team he faces.

What better way to wind up an opponent after a sweet win than claim "they were unlucky" etc etc . :)

A lot of that has also to do with the fact that the league is beyond Real now, and this is their only important trophy now, so he does that kind of stuff to avoid complacency from his own players as well.

Doesnt really have anything to do with him wanting a Man United job as we all know there is only one job he would (re)take again in English football

TLM, you going to the FA Cup game this weekend? Should be a good one :)

No, but I did manage to get tickets for Brazil V Russia

Real shame that Ronaldinho was dropped by Big Phil, Never seen him in person and was looking forward to it.

Even more incredible that Kaka got a recall.

Someone should tell big Phil that this isnt 2007 and Kaka is basically a ballboy for Real thesedays in their training sessions.
Then again, no real need to tell a Chelsea fan how clueless Scolari is.

Not to mention that Fergie is hardly going to step away from Man U and go shoot game in te Scottish Highlands. Any successor is going to have him lurking in the background giving his two pence on how to run the place. Especially if they start to lose a couple of games early on. I don't think The Special One is the type who likes a supervisor.

Yeah, he's said he wants to stay on as a Director....because that worked so well when Busby did it :(. TBH, that's why I think Jose would be great for United. Very few other managers with the strength of character to stand up to SAF. I mean, imagine if Moyes or OGS got the job? Both could be good managers, but not under Fergie's thumb. [edit: probably makes more sense for him to go to Chelsea, given how much the fans love him. I'm sure United fans would learn to, but right now we enjoy aiming banter at him]

I'll make sure to jeer Rafa for you TLM ;). Not that I wouldn't have anyway, but you know what I mean...

Another goal from Valencia and this one goes to extra time.

Cant say PSG are that impressive given how much they spent.
Pastore might be the worst £38 million EVER spent and apart from Lucas Moura and Veratti most of their signings look awful.

39% possession at home to Valencia
shocking

You have satisfied my itch for wondering where you lived! Thank you sir!
And all you moaning red twats...best team won...and you know why I know that??

Fergie's reaction.
Classic. He is always going to have a temper tantrum when he is out-classed and out-thought, which he was last night.

SO BORED OF MAN UTD! SO 1990! And Trafford Library was as quiet AS EVER last night I'm afraid.
And yes Real were quiet, have you enjoyed the away hospitality at "the theatre" ?
No leg room, no beer, poor seating layout, over-zealous stewarding. And of course my favourite the GMP. lol
Get ye back to Norfolk, I can see your 11th fingers from here!

YOU WERE NOT THE BEST TEAM OVER TWO LEGS ergo 2-3

White Pele???!!!

=D

I do hate United, but it was a pretty harsh way to be dumped out. Although Mourinho's subs proved very effective and Modric's goal was a stunner. Beauty of a hit.

White Pele? The one that sat on the bench yeah? Away goals in the last ten seasons of the Champion's League for Wayne "big game bottler" Rooney.

1. Rooney, 7 goals
1. Ronaldo, 7 goals
3. Messi, 6 goals
4. Drogba, 4 goals
4. Robben, 4 goals
4. Raul, 4 goals
4. Olic, 4 goals

Hes going to have a temper tantrum yes, the game was UTD. We were crusing at 1-0 and then it gets turned on its head by a daft decision, last night was quiet? Ha right ok, loudest ive heard it in a few years. This is like talking to a chelsea supporter its going to go nowhere, if it was 11-11 for the whole game then who would of been the "better" team? us of course.

It wasn't, though. This just makes you look silly. I mean, Norwich told us our "support was fucking shit" in the 1st half last week, and they were right. Against Madrid? We were great.

Well no. I'm a United fan so I tend to be in the home end =D. Leg room. Fair call but so what. No beer? Huh? Do they not sell beer to away fans? That sucks if so. But they don't sell beer at all at CL games, so that's no excuse. Stewarding? Agree 100% but that applies to the home fans too. And all of those things apply to Norwich, who made plenty of noise in a basically meaningless game for them (they're not getting relegated or into Europe, so meaningless). Liverpool (of course) made lots of noise. Everton were pretty good. Madrid could hardly be heard...

And just quickly: we were never behind in the tie until the sending off. We were ahead from the 20th minute first leg until the 70th minute of the 2nd. So yeah, I think we deserved to go through. But that's life.

Oh shit. I sound like Rafa with his facts, don't I? :D

More like Fergie!

Ha ha, so it took you how many years to make a noise at Old Trafford? Well done!

In the second game you had 4 shots fewer on target and a third of the possession...and you deserved to win? I haven't looked up the stats from the first game, do I need to? Perhaps not...

Complaining about a sending off in a 2 legged affair and you just end up looking like a twat. Sour grapes is very typical of united fans.

It just smacks of childish, learned beahviour from your manager. More facts Rafa?!
The man of the match in the first tie was your keeper was it not?

champions 95

I'm fully preparing myself to lose to Millwall on Mother's Day BTW.
But having a go at little old town clubs like us is no fun I would imagine.

I'm just hearing that Steve Kean is now odds on favourite to be the Glazer's new glaswegian sychophant, this is following United's crushing defeat last season at home to the mighty Venky's FC

Stop flattering yourself kids, Mourinho is bigger than Man Utd.

If you look at the 1.04 mark you can see Nani has a glance , so I dont understand where all this " he only had eyes for the ball" stuff is coming from.

Tell you what, Ginsoak moves pretty fast for an old guy though. :)

Lots of hypocrisy from Man United fans as usual, remember when they were up in arms about this challenge ?

that torres challenge was worse and in closer quarters. i just feel that most players would go for that ball in the same manner given space and he just happened to make contact. i think these decisions should be based on intent in certain cirumstances and not just dangerous play. but anyway the amount of stupid decisions that get given in the prem anyway, just makes me think that was just our turn to get a bad hand dealt. no point in going on over it, its done now

THIS! +100 <3

You see fellas, you can be mature about things and gracious in defeat!

It is possible!

Anyway up to the red card you had a good couple of hours to score more goals.. Right i will stop now. Promise8)

And what's the point anyway if you gonna leave Pele on the bench?

Pele. lol

Huh? I wasn't complaining about the sending off [you'll notice I said "that's life"]. I still haven't seen it! (Didn't see it properly at the game, haven't had a chance to watch it on TV yet). It could very well have been a good decision. But good or bad, Nani's fault or the ref's, it still changed the game.

Shots on target? Fair point. Posession I'm not having. We set up to play on the counter-attack, and to let them have the ball (seeing as they are such a great counter-attacking side). Possession stats don't prove very much. Some teams win with a lot (Barca, most obviously). Some teams with a little.

I'm not sure what you mean by "how many years to make a noise". But good luck against Leeds Scum anyway. Obviously =D.

Edit to add: Rooney's not much of a favourite at OT at the moment, so it's not like you're mocking our idol ;)

Gotta love Anji
A club that sticks 2 fingers up at Platini and his FFP

Bankrolled by a self made billionaire ( Not an Oligarch) although how he "remade" his money is open to question ( possibly kremlin $$) but never proven

This guy is like a bond villian.
He wears skin tone gloves now to hid the burns he got from crashing a Ferrari in Nice in 2006.

They said he had an epiphany after this crash and realised Yatchs and mansions meant nothing, and has since ploughed Millions into the club.
His vision to unite a wartorn region.

Great BBC Doc on him can be downloaded its called "Dagestans football dreams"

They open the long awaited new stadium on March 17th in the Russian league, the one that was jettisoned and for which most funds went into corrupt politicians pockets, so he basically bankrolled it again to the tune of £100 million, and is now paying for the newer 40,000 stadium, creating countless jobs in a region where there is 40% unemployment and most people dont earn more than £400 a month.

A big 2 fingers up at UEFA and FFP.
Take a bow Suleyman Kerminov

All this for a club that was a game away from being relagated to the 3rd tier in Russia in 2010 and until his takeover had never spent more than £350,000 on a player

Cant realy blame him, if you survive a crash like this that slices your car in 2 and spend some time in a coma an Epihany is the least you would be subjected to
