Not causing him any problems? Wonder why because rooneys just came onto the pitch, who the fuck listens to andy towsend "you have to give it to real, how they have come back from being down" , anything to do with giving a fucking red card for nothing?

Rooney is box to box, alex ferguson never ever plays for a 0-0 he gives just as much defensive duties as anyone else.

penis

In such a big game as this, you cant make decisions like that it decides, -jose "the best team lost" thank you

What I meant was anyone and everyone knew it was a handball and a supposed Real Madrid penalty,I mentioned Andy cos even if someone so pro english admits it, its basically stonewall.

Your team was outplayed from start to end, but as always people will blame the ref for awarding a decision that would go reals way 9 out of 10 times if the game was played in any european league.

Guess what Man U, this isnt a premiership game and therefore the ref will always enforce a different level of physicality in it

Why is this such a surprise?

Studs showing, is a red card 99% of the time in any european game despite intent , because no ref is a mind reader
Man United need to get over it, jeez

All class from the Man U players giving the ref a gob full at the end. Just shake hands, walk off and let your fans do your dirty work.

I dont even think you can comment on the game, you must have been flicking through your City, chelsea, PSG tribute viideos instead of watching the game, we werent outplayed at all. We were creating more chances than they were up untill the red card, how many saves of the line did there keeper have to make? But if its not intentional is it worth completley ruining such a huge game?

So what giving him a mouthfull, he just stood there like a smug cunt of course your going to be pissed of, I think if you didnt care you wouldnt be in the team.

The true reasons why he sent off nani seem to be coming out now.

So no post game interview from Fergie ??

Nice to know he is as gracious as ever in defeat :)
As for Rio mouting off at the end, its the only way he can stay in the public eye

More known for Twatter thesedays and his hatred for JT and Roy than anything to do with his play.

Its called sportsmanship. Win or lose the ref isnt going to suddenly say, "hang on, Lets start the game again".I have never seen a ref reverse a decision on a pitch. Link me one time I may have missed this happening if you like.

Find it hard not answering this...clattenburg in the merseyside derby 2007 is quite a famous example, he sends hibbert off after booking him after gerrard persuades him to.

I have seen refs do this on tele a few times, not many, and never in the flesh, but this shit happens.

Humans are fickle, no less so refs!

And it's called sportsmanship? Ever watched rugby?

The way players treat the ref in football is disgraceful and not sporting in any way.
Manchester United are a famous cheating team with a cheating devious manager, you can't win em all eh?

Hash tag blaming the ref is so arsene wenger

Not a good look basically!

Yawn!

In general the best team will take their chances and usually the result depend on individual and team effort, now and again a "decision" may change a game, but despite what Jose said, tonight was not one of those times.

United missed chances, real were ruthless and held possession far better than the reds I'm afraid.

Anything else is sour grapes. Utd fans should not be complaining. Ffs

I was being sarcastic. That example is bit different though, you never see a penalty reversed unless a linesman gives him the heads up. I think it was a disgrace going off in front of the ref, particularly after the game. If you do that in rugby you get marched another 10m before you have time to cry "Oh sir". The same should be done with players in the penalty wall who fuck around and try and creep an extra yard or three.

I'd say the crowd and player reaction was absolutely standard for a controversial decision like that. Everbody does that. United used to be 100 times worse, for what it's worth. Chelsea fans sent death threats to a ref after one of their European games (not picking on your lot in particular TLM, it was the first thing that came to mind). [I agree,, football should do the same thing as rugby with dissent; but it doesn't, United aren't doing anything unusual here]

Back to the game: I gotta run to work but: crowd was magnificent. I was on my feet the whole game as were the lads around me. Madrid's fans were silent except after the goals (OK, it may have been where I was sitting, but I didn't hear them. Norwich's mob were much louder and probably rate as the best fans I've seen at OT this season - maybe behind Liverpool, who at least had the home fans singing back at them).

From where I was it looked like we killed them, created so many good chances but their keeper was fantastic (and RvP a bit off the pace? He's not nailing chances that he would have taken earlier. Suspect he's playing with that hip injury he got in the photographer's pit at Wigan). Can't comment on the penalties, I was too far away. Roy Keane thought Nani should have been sent off (I love the fact that Keano did and SHM didn't <3]

Re Rooney: some talk that he may be off in the summer, but I don't think that's why he was benched, I think it was tactical.

Really annoyed to have gone out: with Chelsea, City, an probably Barca out, if we'd beaten Real we would have had a real chance of winning it, I think. (Munich probably favourites in that scenario I guess?) This team will get better, but so will our opposition.

From a total neutral .

That was one good bloody game n Infinite mate i bet you had a wicked time despite .

If Alex had done his Home work on the ref he would know that he has mad history for Red Cards . John Terry in the CL is the biggy but he deserved it but Balotelli got a red for a high tackle in a Euro League game .

Anyhow i thought it was a bit of a shocker & a different Ref may have gone yellow.

So leaving out your best player ?
That was a huge bomb. I've heard him say
Wayne can play anywhere
so it really shocked me that he couldn't get in a team ahead of a 40 year old , a young Striker who only has 3 CL games experience .

Whilst Alex was fuming Jose was scheming UTDs downfall & put on MOdric to begin the hurt. Surely Alex should have shuffled his pack at that time rather than waiting till it was almost 75mins.
Rooney & Evans for Welbeck & RVP. I say RVP cos i don't think he was 100% & he's a player that can't get away with it unlike others that can .

So in the end Jose put in his job application whilst doing a number on his potential employers .

Morning after the night before, still seething. Fergies final years he really wants this cup badly and you can tell its slipping away from him, this year was going to be as good as ever chance to get it.

from "neutral" points of views though everyone said fergie got his tactics spot on, we were the better team up untill that point and you can tell the concentration just went from everyones heads and sort of just rolled over, most teams ie chelski can just sit and soak up the defence, no one was closing anyone down I could only see us going out after that one. Anyway the double is on, the league is 100% ours.

We can go on and moan or just pick ourselfes up and get on with it, of course a big decisions going to piss a lot of people off, I mean its not like the turkish referee is a madrid fan boy//// is it?

that decision ruined the match. you could clearly see he had everry intention of going for the ball and athe amount of times ive see nthis sort of thing happen in the pl and resulting in yellow cards is in the majority. not being biased but they were not all over us for the whole match. they had big chunks of possession sure, but possession alone doest win games. in terms of on target attempts, we were better and really should have finished some off. in all fairness their keeper did really well. i firmly believe without that decision we would have woin

If you look at the 1.04 mark you can see Nani has a glance , so I dont understand where all this " he only had eyes for the ball" stuff is coming from.

Tell you what, Ginsoak moves pretty fast for an old guy though. :)

Lots of hypocrisy from Man United fans as usual, remember when they were up in arms about this challenge ?

^"He had a glance" he turned his head slightly, his blind spot to see if anyone was directly near him anbd there wasnt, fed up of arguing about this shit anyway.

TLM, you going to the FA Cup game this weekend? Should be a good one :)

Brimz, I think you're right. I was surprised Rooney didn't start, maybe even instead of RVP. If you remember back a few years, we went out of Europe to Bayern when Rooney got injured and was only half-fit, and Fergie didn't trust Berbatov to replace him. For me, the whole point of having RVP was to give us multiple options - if he was injured, we'd still have Rooney to lead the attack, and vice versa. So why play a half-fit RVP?

I'd have left Welbeck on though, maybe taken Giggs off for Rooney, played 4-4-1 with Rooney on Ronaldo. And Valencia for Rafael? Not like Rafael wasn't attacking down that wing, probably better than Valencia would have.

Ah well. Always next year. Another year of experience for Evans, Rafael, Cleverly, Kagawa and Welbeck :)
