I'll give you one serious tip MM. Go to the parade ring. ANYONE can tell a good horse. If it looks like death warmed up, that's how it will run. If it looks lean and fit, it might just win.

Seriously. It's not that difficult. Form schmorm. Go on what looks fit. No, not your wife dickhead.

EDIT for added conceit. Picked five out of seven winners at Ffos Las recently like this.

It will if he's any good !!

He's just messaged me back, "no changes necessary, I'd allowed for testing conditions" :) We were sat in a pub while it was pissing down outside yesterday, so he's hardly a clairvoyant, but yeah, no changes, so my (his) selection stands!

%)

I've looked at the card. Loads of short-priced favs and a Handicap Chase (stick a pin in and hope your horse doesn't fall).

No-ones getting rich at Exeter today, except the bookies.

I am Madonna's ray of light.

from the gambling thread, where no-one goes.

I'm also gonna do a placepot for the first 6 races, and pick 4 of them for a £1 lucky 15, then a fiver on each race, missis having a fiver on each race too, but she's gonna pick when she's had a good look at the horses =D

I'm doing a lucky 15

Not much value with just a par in the 1st
I agree wqith Melodic rendevous 2:30
Highland lodge 15:oo
Bally Legend 15;30
Quick Decsion 16;30

Have a look at the racing post a couple of yours may be non runners .
I'm only doing 4 cos that's the lucky 15

I agree with what SHM just said about the meeting tbh n i wouldn't bet on it usually but i said i would so .
Also what he said about the parade ring is a proper good bit of advice n youir missus could do well if she bets on the nags that look good .

yeah very short odds on just a par, specialy for such a big field.

I'm putting it the lucky 15 for sure though,

lucky 15 will be

Just a Par
Melodic Rendezvous
Cappa Bleu
Simply Wings

in the first 4 races.

I'm gonna chuck a fiver E/W on Red Riverman in the 2.30 too. looks about 66/1.

and me son wants a quid on Tokyo Javelix (i think) as he loves Tokyo (no, weve never been there)....looks at 150/1 now. :)

EDIT>>>>>fuck, 3 of my seven horses have just announced as non-runners, due to the heavy going I think...

I agree, but we're going anyway.

Morning! Not a fucking clue about horse racing, oddly. Won about sixty quid at York races once, that's the extent of my experience.

Was kept up while 6am by my housemate and his friend who I suspect were on some pills or powders of some kind. Let em off though because he literally never ever causes a racket and I got straight back to sleep, albeit in some sort of bizarre fucking nightmare involving me attempting to date Miranda Hart with the girl I was seeing last year trying to interfere, and Slenderman causing some weird pandemic. It was fucked up. And sorta fun :D

Oh go on then. Midnight Prayer in the first.

I love racing MM. I would always go. Don't actually give a toss about winning money. Probably just as well, like.

Morning Snolly.
You are not alone in not knowing much about horse racing. I only know the very very basics but I don't understand how a lot of the bets you can place on races work.
How's the rabbit this morning?

puffin billy @ 14:30 -

Harry Topper @ 15:00 - shhhiiiiite odds though. All the other horses are missing a leg

I'm with you two maxalfie and snolly, not a clue, on National day I just pick one out of the paper with the best coloured jersey.

Morning Ben So,I had a winner in the Grand National years ago that I picked because it had the same name as a film I liked Papillon.

I get so pissed off watching The Sunday Politics show cos the politicians NEVER answer the question they are asked.

14.00 Just A Par
14.30 Melodic Rendezvous
15.00 Cappa Bleu hawkes point
15.30 Simply Wines
16.00 Dare Me
16.30 Pure Oxygen quick decission
17.00 Carlton Jack don't bother as the liquidator will win at evens or less, apparently.

new bets after non-runners announced.

Morning maxalfie, hope you're well :)

ha ha, yeah I did get a fluke one year, forget the name but he had a lovely red and white stripey jersey, I remember that much. Won about a tenner from a £1 bet I think.

Always nice when you win. I could never be a regular gambler though cos I hate losing money and yet I used to happily spend several hundred quid each week on heroin with no chance of getting any money back.Daft hey.
