more people were killed by samari swords in WWII than the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki....

still VERY VERY wrong, but just something to think about

i think just about everything is wrong with this country, i should know, i live here. all i know is if i ever have kids i will NOT raise them here.

but like you've mentioned, alot of the people here a good people, just unfortunate victims.

just wondering whether that is true, that samurai swords killed more than the atomic bombs. seen the damamge they can do on kill bill tho.

in other existential and moral musings personally, i worship the electron. negligible mass, infinite possibilities. long live the electron!!! :) (-ve)

The samurai sword thing sounds highly dubious to me, PinkP.

In electron news, I quite like Richard Feynman's theory that there is actually only one electron in the universe and it just whizzes around back and forward in time making it look like there are gazillions. Not saying I necessarily believe he's right but is a cute idea nonetheless.

Single Electron Universe

300,000 killed by the atomic bombs (directly afaik). The Japanese murdered something like 30 million people* so I guess it's entirely possible. I wouldn't have thought so at first, but after looking at those numbers it doesn't seem that ridiculous.

Edit - *Estimates actually seem to range from 5 to 30 million.

This is a bit of a strange thread to be having this conversation though lol.

^ Far cuter than most gods, somewhat cuter than Santy Claus.

^^ Thinking about what the Japanese got up to in China that would make more sense actually. Forgot about that bit. Was thinking more about the kick-off with America. Overall deathtoll from the nukes is probably pretty hard to work out - still causing problems to this day I think. Samurai swords > nukes. Way snazzier and is hard to cause decades of cancer and birth defects with a sharp implement however sharp it is.

Sorry to quote more from this book I'm reading but some of it is very relevant. This bit, Jesus has just told a "pastor" that god doesn't care if people worship him or not.

The Second Coming said:
'I... to say that is to try and make a mockery of everything I believe in.'
'So if you believe a bunch of shit people aren't allowed to mock it?'
'One must respect the beliefs of others.'
'Why?'
'Why?'
'Yeah. Why should I respect your bunch of shit? Because you say so? Come on, if you really believe it what do you care what I think?'

=D

I should add, this book portrays Jesus in an incredibly good light. He is by far the hero of this story. The author is clearly not a big fan of "Christians" though lol.

an observation myself jess and raas seem to have inner peace calmness and love for our fellow humans. love gods love shining bright through us.
my christians friends in recovery met me earlier i told them about this arguement they said i shouldnt have got so wound up about it.
i will testify to this i believe in god pray to him...im not perfect but i turn to him.
it is key to my spiritual growth.
i notice a lot of negativity doubt and lets be honest mockery of peoples very beliefs in this thread.
its ironic how the non christians havnt had a positive word to say only scorn judgemental and highly bitter things to say here.
sad if only you had something in ur life to give it meaning

Do you even think about what you write? Read that back, then read your other posts in this thread. In fact, just read that one post back. You contradict yourself a few times in the very same post, no need to read the other ones where you contradict yourself even more.

If you think what you (by "you" I mean specifically you acieed_ed. Jess & Raas may well have genuine inner peace & calmness) have is inner peace & calmness then, going by how you show this apparent calmness, I'm quite glad not to have it.

look im tripping on hallacinogenics atm lol
i apologise for the implied threats in my posts ur right about one thing i did make a clownshoe out of myself i was an arsehole

what if there's a whole group of non christians and non others who aren't commenting because they don't want to add to the shitepile? cause they know it don't make a difference?

you should assume nowt from anything except for the things you know. and you certainly don't know about other people's 'peace' levels from a few forum posts (no matter how much you NEED to see those things). Some of the folks you're citing don't show 'inner peace' imo, quite the opposite

leave it be man. I like you and youre kinda cool to converse with, but you're into assumption making just like the next man ... move on ... and stop assuming things eh? Your assumptions are narrow minded and blinkered
