I began my sub maintenance in michigan. that doc would piss test me 9 times outta 10. i never had any relapses in a year and a half, but the fuckers were still convinced i was a fucking addict! appearances effect a lot (i had a mohawk). once i moved down to florida, the doctor here gave me 2 piss tests, and from then on he never bothered, but then again i did cut my hawk off when i moved.

Some doctors are way more lax about the drug testing.. some don't even bother or just do it very infrequently. Then there was supposed to be the whole mandatory therapy accompanied by the suboxone but... most doctors I know gave up on that shit too. Hah. They just want you to walk in, hand over the cash, scribble on their little pad, and send you on your way so the next poor bastard can come in and fork over his dough.

sorry, i was commenting on what OE was saying. i beleive that the ba with sublingual is around 40% while snorting is 60%. dont quote me on that, but i'm certain that its fairly accurate. either way, there is no god damn way that using subs sublingually has a better ba.

Yes this is true. Back when i had the tabs i always snorted it, but its a pain and burns a lot to snort the strips so I'm stuck with sublingual. I haven't asked my doc to put me back on the tabs. The visits aren't very long he pretty much just throws a script at me and sends me on my way. I'm curious of what it will be like next time. I wonder if i'll actually sit down in a room. Its kind of nice though because it makes the process easy. I go there, pay the money, get the script, pay for the script and im good for a month.

^snorting strips? Care to explain? You mean waterlining?

Also I've been on 8mg bupe a day for a year, and heroin prior to that without a break in between. How long would one expect the worst of the w/d to last? 2 weeks? Over a month? (PAWS aside)

Wow!!! They make 12mg films now? Wicked cool.

Now I just need them to make some 1s and some 0.5s...

@Redrum: Do you mean after weaning? Or if you stopped now? If the latter, they'd probably stick around for quite some time. You have quite a lot of buprenorphine built up in your system by now. Well above 8mg.

Sorry if this has been asked before.

Does anyone know what the maximum shelf life/valid expiration of suboxone film is.

I.E. if i got brand new strips from a pharmacy, what is the max they are good for? 1 year?

Like the subs I'm getting that say expire 1/2014
Does that mean they were definately bought/distributed from the pharmacy after January 1st 2013?

This is very important to me thank you BL.

i completely agree that its rediculous that they keep making larger doses. its like they are making it harder for us to kick the damn drug. they stand to make much more money with higher doses. and i also agree that most docs that write scripts for subs are a joke. they dont give 2 fucks, they just want the cash. at least the 2 sub docs i've had were like that. its fucking rediculous too, cuz if you dont have insurance, the motherfucker wants you to pay 350$ just to say you want the damn subs. 350$ for a 5 minute conversation. and how they make it "mandatory" to go to AA/NA or see a counselor/therapist is also a joke. just another way to make a buck. money grubbing dick grabbers!

Hello,

I'm new here so please be patient :). I've been on Sub films for 3 months, taking 8 mgs once a day under tounge. A few 30mg oxycodone pills found their way to me for free, and I stopped the subs a little over 24 hours ago. I'm planning on waiting even longer before I touch the pills, at least 48-72 hours after my last sub dose accoding to what I've read. Do you guys think 48+ hours will give me the majority of the effects from the oxy? I'm only planning on taking 60-90mg of oxy via the nose. I've also heard that the 8mg of bupe might even be stronger than the 60-90mgs of oxy. If this is the case, is my tolerance so high from the bupe that I will hardly feel the oxy? Thanks for your time guys!

8mg is a lot... one can't really quantify this type of question because when it comes to biology there are just too many factors and many we do not know or understand.

i would say your best bet is to read through older suboxone megathreads which can be found in the first post of this thread.

Could anybody tell help me convert bupe to hydrocodone? I realize its a weak opiate. but I've googled every possible combination of the question and get widely varying answers. How much hydrocodone is equal to 1mg sub? 4mg? (If not hydrocodone, conversion to oxycodone?)

Any possible insight or answers would be wonderful, idk why this particular conversion is basically an unknown on the rest of the interwebz

I reading through earlier threads I found that .5-1 mg of bupe = 15 mg of oxycodone. I don't know if there is more recent info around one it. I'm guessing it would take at least 25mg of hydrocodone to equal the same amount. That's just a guess from personal experience.

^thanks. I read some like that too but some other reports varied widely....

Also, could anyone help me out with this too: so does how sick you are tell you how much bupe is still in your system? Aka if you feel 7/10 withdrawals is 70% of the bupe out of your receptors? Or is this not at all how it works?

I start getting semi strong w/d 12 hours after last Suboxone dose. So does this mean the bupe is leaving my receptors or are they still 100% clogged? Most places say half life is something like 36 hours... The duration of bupe effects on me seem to be drastically shortened, or is it like this with everyone who used to be junkie? Been on bupe for a year,so not like I'm still adjusting or anything

The average half life is 36 hours. It varies from person to person depending on their metabolism and individual body chemistry. So, if you start getting strong withdrawals 12 hours after your last dose, you're clearly on the fast side.. I'm like that too. And yes, it means that a lot of the bupe is no longer on your receptors.. Some people need to wait literally days for the bupe to leave their system and be able to feel withdrawal or get high again on an opiate.

Our fast metabolism is good when we're trying to get high after taking bupe because we can do it a lot faster than most people... but where it burns us is in the fact that we get sick so much quicker. A lot of people are able to take a dose of bupe and be good for 24 hours. Not me. And with H it was really bad..it's short half life an everything, I'd start to get sick just 6 hours or so after my last shot... not fun. I was hating my metabolism then.. hah.

does anyone have experience requesting a particular brand of generic subutex thru a large chain pharmacy? i've had the major 3 brands over the past 2 years (teva, roxane, and hi tech) but for several months it's been just the hi techs and i like them, but i've always felt a bit of a buzz whenever i switched from one brand to another, like they're all unique though serving the same purpose. maybe some people will think this is placebo as a drug is a drug is a drug, but i swear, i can feel a difference so would like to try and request one of the other brands if it would be worth trying for. has anyone done this before?

second skin maybe everyone has to go thru this at least once to learn this lesson, but if i were you i'd just sock those OCs away for a rainy day, a time when you're either forced to take tiny doses of bupe for a while or choose to take way lower doses, so they're more likely to do something for you. this might be something you just have to try for yourself anyway, i know it's hard to resist when it's already in front of you.

Not necessarily by any means You could be feeling crappy if there's a differential in what your body is accustomed to.
