You'd need to be a masochist (and have a lot of free time) to mod on here..
Sorry to see the current mods falling away, but I hope they stay on as posters..
 
Blimey. I hope you'll stick around as Crew or rank and file or whatever you wish to be. Drawing my own conclusions as to why the lot of you would be pressing stop/eject at once I can only assume that ED's resident wunderkind is due to be promoted to the position of boss of y'all. Much PLUR to your axe and may God have mercy on arseholes.

I'm not! I always thought we got on well, non :D i've never given you a reason to fall out with me, and vice versa? we have a laugh don't we? Was it all just an illusion???

Of all the mods you're the one who seemed to attract the odd moment of controversy. I have no idea why or the reasons behind it so all I can do is judge you on how you appear to me, funny, open, interesting, intelligent knowledgable and dedicated to EADD.

Thats more than one kind word, even if you had to fish for 'em ;)

I liked you as a mod Sam, I'm sure I'll prefer you as a poster, although I didn't like you as a poster before you were a mod.

Yes you made a couple of twattish decisions while modding, but overall, you have been an egotistical good-egg.

Make of that what you will, but I do like you, and I DO hope you'll still be around to take the piss, and have the piss taken too.

You're one of the people I hope to stay in touch with - whether I'll be Crew, rank-and-file or even post here at all remains to be seen and will depend on movements behind-the-scenes.

Like I say, I've volunteered to see things through to the recruitment of the next mods (so bear in mind you still have a week in which I could gladly bring the banhammer down, 'Jess') but it might not work out that way.

Thanks for the good wishes and as much as there's part of me that'd love to get vocal about some of the things that have forced my hand, I'm not going to stoop to the depths of the behaviour we've witnessed from previous staff who've departed on less-amicable terms.

Chill out Sam... you know those breathing exersises that kate reccommends really work. It helps to take time out from your obvious over emotionalism... rise above it and get rational. Then delete that embarrassing line if i where you lol 'ban hammer'.. you intend to ban me for some percieved slight.

That wasn't what I meant at all, Kate :\

The point I was making is that I'm not entirely sure I actually fulfil the necessary criteria for applying for any staff position at the moment. I've only been posting again somewhat regularly for a coupla months so far so would kinda feel like if I did apply it would be essentially based on prior experience rather than on current activity. It just seems better for all concerned to get fresh blood on staff - fresh blood that currently fulfils all requirements.

When it changed to two positions being up for grabs that changes the dynamic slightly as it leaves more room for choosing two people with different kindsa credentials - perhaps somebody with experience and somebody fresher too. Now that it seems Oor Sammy G is also planning on early retirement (:() the whole dynamic changes again. Perhaps prior experience becomes a more desirable trait simply because they need less in the way of rope-showing and the like. Or perhaps it goes the other way and some kinda deep cleaning and fresh faces all around would be the preferred option. Dunno. Must admit I am pondering 'pon it now.

That aside, really is all-change in EADDland at the moment, huh? Onward, forever onward...

There's no need to butter me up anymore, I told you! Though that really means a lot - I'm quite taken aback, in fact. :)

I attract controversy pretty much anywhere, nearly always emanating from a minority of people who share common features I won't go into here, apart from saying that insecurity tends to be the overriding factor. In most cases in daily life it isn't a problem, because these people are largely marginalised and in any case I usually win them round and earn their respect. Unfortunately this is the internet, where those people tend to cluster.

Then again, I can also be an absolute tool. Just like anyone.

I don't think we got on at all until I was modded up, but over time you became one of my favourite posters. That's been a recurring theme actually. :)

I think the posts you've made already in this thread say more about you than any disingenous message of 'goodwill' could do. You're a real piece of work, and I'm glad that I don't have to spend my spare time getting annoyed at your immature and spiteful nature on a daily basis. Honestly - just leave it.

If going awol for about 8 months at a time is one of the criteria then shammy is the obvious choice :D He's be great, like an absent neglectful parent. He'd give us a years supply of crisps, make sure we know how to turn the cold water tap on and leave us to it.
