The thought of a Mugz application FINALLY being successful (due to volume of vacancies) makes me rather depressed ;)

That's a point! I can be one of those former staff members who gets drunk, logs on and slags off the new mods. The ones I really used to love dealing with.

It gets better... :)

Note to prospective mods: I won't do that. Though consider yourselves lucky you won't have any of that business, because it did actually go on in the distant, best-forgotten past. Though I must say that I had plenty of support and tips from former staff too.

Ya. That's probably the most obvious drawback in the whole shambolic package. Although I can mount a pretty damn convincing argument as to why this really shouldn't be the insurmountable issue it may initially appear to some. Here is not the place to do it though. And I'm sure that as far as points against me go there are surely meatier ones available.

That aside, I should probably keep any further musings 'pon whether or not to toss me hat in the ring for apprasisal this time around to meself now.

One thing that has one eybrow fully raised (and the second with a noticable semi) is having such a flurry of mod changes at once. Kinda makes me wonder what's afoot up there in the Podgerer's Palace on high. Smells like there's change on the horizon that's potentially even less welcome than losing three damn fine mods at once. I do hope whomesever those to be besticked are they're not gonna find themselves walking straight into a shitstorm of Badnesses. Seems somewhat strange that three individuals all happen to have completely distinct, personal and individual reasons to quit at the same time without there being something soon to be foisted upon us that's undesirable enough to warrant multiple resignations in protest...

As you're no doubt aware, it's against the rules for us to reveal too much about what happens behind the scenes, but it's not quite as dramatic as it may appear. Or rather not as sinister.

Can't speak for anybody else, but I genuinely do have a few problems I need to overcome, and while EADD (and its better posters) have been a massive help to me on many occasions, I don't think I can carry on giving it the attention or love it needs, for the most part due to these problems.
 
Fair enough, Sammy. As mentioned, was an entirely baseless musing at best. Just seems a shame to miss such an obvious opportunity for searching out skullduggery whether it exists in reality or needs a helping hand to become some kinda quasi-reality via the medium of idle speculation ;)

And while I have you all to meself on this page, I'll just add my thanks and appreciation for all the hard decisions and excellent work you've put in whilst besticked here. Definitely in the very top drawer of the annals of EADD Mod Legends is Oor Beloved Sammy G. DO NOT be a stranger in your dotage <3
 
Well, I have no idea what to make of this now? I can only imagine it's the fallout from from bizarre love triangle between Kate, atm and Sam that's gone horribly, horribly wrong? I think we should be told, oh yes!

Sam, FWIW, I don't think you're a cunt, unlike some it would seem. You're alright by me fella, despite being a Manc. I can overlook that. Stick around, we'll talk more Kabbalah and stuff at some point. =D
 
I just can't give the time to modding eadd. I work full time and can't access BL from there and modding on yer mobile is an absolute pain in the arse. We're also moving house and selling, renovating and flitting into another is taking up a lot of our personal time. I wish it was acceptable for me to put in less time but it isn't practical for eadd or the other mods picking up the slack.

How much time you can give is worth considering if you're applying - and more importantly how you're going to integrate it into your personal life and your drug-taking. I'm sure we all notice when a mod is err inebriated on something or other. Can be a bit of a laugh but not always useful to the job at hand!

This thread is a good opportunity for all of us to have a re-think on what's expected from the mods and what its like being one. It may make good game and a bit of shit stirring drama to amuse yourselves on a bored Tuesday night to bait us and cause us a lot of extra work, but trust me its awful. It's a voluntary job and none of us want our lives being made hell because we decided to be a mod. And you members can and do make our lives difficult all in the name of sport mostly. Can you imagine what that's like?

Eadd is your community and its really up to you members to make of it what you will. We all run by a set of guidelines made up by the owners of BL (you know those people who pay money to run it and its server) and the senior staff who have a huge job to do just running the nuts & bolts of the place. But as members you set the tone and culture of the individual forum you call home. Sometimes I think you / me / we all forget we're here to offer advice, information and support to everyone - it's an open public forum. it's not just for 20 or so regulars who think they own the place.

Like I said, this thread's here for you all to ponder these things, maybe even come to some consent to try make it a better, more welcoming place. Or maybe you'd prefer it to be more like ED or the Lounge lol.

Full understand modding can be a bit of a poisoned chalice Kate, and how much time and energy it takes, especially when you have to go round cleaning up after those who find it difficult to maintain a bit of common human decency and civility and behave like proper adults. I wouldn't do it. I got jaded with opping an IRC chatroom very quickly, mainly because of the complete change in attitude from some I'd previously counted as friends who's behaviour towards me changed completely once I'd opped up. Was like sticking a big target on myself that they could aim their shit at, like opping up immediately created a them and us mentality in some people's minds with ops being fair game for their small-minded, petty vindictiveness. Saw a very different side of the site, soon stood down. Sucks really, but there it is.
 
In BDD, no? I didn't know he'd been mod of EADD ..

I do know he's been very vocal about his relentless applications for every position that's become vacant in EADD for the last 2 years or so.
