Want to be an EADD Mod?

I think a forum members vote would give us some say, a bit ike the unons at the TUC...

name the candidates, but don't publish their applications (this would obviously affect their alications if they knew they were ripe for publick mockeryscrutiny...

Name the candidates, and if they wish i the thread to make their case, it's up to them.

EADD posters can politely discuss the merits or not of each candidate, and at the end we have a vote on the communitys choice

Its not to say the mods will think this is complete pish, and a bad decision, but it might help sway them and allow them to consider our opinions/worries....

You never know, we might all agree with the mods

Sometmes forum users won't be happy with your decisions,but they are often not intitially happy anyway.

pp i seriously hope you realised i was joking. You're ace, I've got nothing whatsoever against a functioning productive sensible and responsible baghead. I'm into that idea. Particularly the "tell us why you think the successful applicant is the best choice". Not that I really give that much of a fuck, I might be an annoying cunt but I don't really do much to warrant much interaction with mods, but it would let anyone who (for whatever reason) wasn't chuffed with the mod choice to at least see why that mod was chosen & then (if they're a sensible cunt) be less pissed off. Then again, if you're a sensible cunt, you shouldn't be bothered about who gets to do an unpaid job in the first place.

and mods, do'n't just tell me this isn;t the way things are done here, we're not known for beng a hotbed of conservatism, change can work, but if it doesn't and causes muchos headaches for all concerned we're big enough to accept that the olden ways were the best...

I'll even (unofficially, non-BL approved) mod the forum users discussion thread, meting out justice where it's needed, and offering encouragmrnt too. Totalyunbiased too. Unless ColDan Applied, in wich case I'd lose the names of the other nominees sharpish

I'm saying the mods draw up a list of applicants.

They post the applicants names.

The applicants may OR may not add a few words.

EADD users could ask them a specific question.

EADD users could politelycompare the attributes

EADD users come up with their choice of applicants and why.

EADD mods can consider this, take it on board, or dismiss it, even if it's dismissed it's no worse then the situation now.

EADD nods announce the successful applicants, and why, and for what reason this applicant will be better than the users' choice.

You mods all have the ultimate say, but it gives us a chance to air our input. We're always told, and most of us feel this is a community. this would be one way of getting one step closer to being a more real, than a virtual community

Yes kate, I talk some pish, but its only pish cos you can't be arsed to consider it right now.

I'm not suggesting we choose the new mod, I'm not suggestig we scrutinise private applications, i just think the current mods should let us have our say, and at least show willing to listen a bit. And, maybe, just one time, throw caution to the wind and let the users decide completely. if it fails, it fails.

I bet you'd get a few more apps too.

You don;t need to mail all BL members to gt votes in, most EADD postes will have seen the thread anyway, and i bet a lot wont even want to comment.

And I'm not suggesting the site's owner changes the whole mod process, just have a try in EADD,,we are aspecial forum, a social forum, let us, as a social community have some input, not a final say..

Do any other users think this is valid? Or detrimental? Or unworkable? I'm just looking at a bit more of a democracy.

I suppose it all falls apart if you only get one application
