Just curious Mailmonkey if you ever heard of Charles Bukowski, he did a book called Post office all about working in the USA mail service, when I found out you were a mail man I pictured you being like him tbh, all crazy women going on about mail & getting dogs attacking you ;)

Oh yeah - I have Friday and Monday off. I'm going to do some online shopping Friday in the (possibly forlorn) hope it arrives on Monday, whereupon I will tip my postie as per your advice.

Can you pull some strings at RM HQ to make sure my parcels turn up on Monday?

And don't say 'just pay for SD', for fuck's sake! :D

In your expert creeking opinion.....something posted last Saturday.......how long will it take this week? I take it hthings are slipping a bit...like 3/4 days first class?
 
really, you'll need to use SD. To be sure.

Although even some of them have been failing this week. I dunno why RM are so unprepared. Well I do, they're trying to save even more cash. And the SD's are getting there, often a day late...and RM know that most people can't be arsed to go through the rigmarole of claiming their 6 quid back and are just grateful to have received anything at all.
 
I do hope the extended delivery times at this time of year aren't too extreme. Is my last chance to order a Goody or two before the end of the year really. Doubt I'll be doing much over the festive season but have small hopes of one or two chances to play out and play up. Depending on how the social sort out payments there may just be a chance to squeeze in an order of summat nice for NYE but will be bloody tight on delivery times. Really should've thought of that last month when deliveries were running as normal. Organisation? Moi? 8)
 
Recorded is treated NO differently to first class, at any time of the year, it's a skank, and it's only secure in the eyes of the sender...there's no security or traceability whatsoever if someone unscrupulous wanted to nick it, it would be as easy as nicking a standard packet/jiffy, except the thief would have more reason to target a recorded, than a first class....

It'#s not secure, and it goes no more quickly than a standard item.

Avoid.
