Sweeeeeeeet! Thanks for the heads-up, MM. Had a looksee t'other night when they were changing the offers around. Didn't see Weston's but definitely got some other Goodies going cheap until New Years. Was gonna treat meself to a bottle of that Jack Daniels Honey stuff (tenner off) cos it's lush. Couldn't quite stretch to it this week though. Might have a potter down there in a bit but only got enough for a bottle of cheapo cider at most. Bloody typical. The first weekend in ages I can't get any ket on tick too :|

oh Shambles, our Co-Op put the Westons back on 2 for 3 quid last week. Will be for 4 weeks. %)

Ours is still on permanently, they just seem to ration the amount of bottles on the shelf. It's ridiculous, there's always a stack of Katy's, next to the Thatcher's, then the Aspall's, .....then usually a huge empty space where the Westons was, save the last 3 or 4 bottles. Permanent offer though. Over two years now. Until the bastard government get their way.

EDIT Bastard IPad put those unnecessary apostrophes in, not me. My grammar is perfunct.

Hot chocolate with marshmallows doesn't make sense, MM?!? Can assure you it does. The fruitiness is just what flavour the marshmallows happen to be - as opposed to the usual "pink" and "white" flavours. Strawberry, mango and 'nana all go well with chocolate as do marshmallows. I see naught but sense here.

Also, Westons still not on offer at the Co-Op here. Just that Wyld Wood one :\

its snowing outside, need something to warm up a bit

Laphroaig-Triple-Wood-75cl.jpg

I left this bottle alone for too time, though :\ it tastes less good than when I opened it

I also fucking love Laphroaig. <3

and another ,<3, to prove my love <3

I also love Ard Beg, another Islay malt, even smokier than Laphroaig...

I have never seen that Triple wood Laphroaig before.
I love their Quarter Cask, really balanced and a good hit at 48%.
But that too loses a lot of potency after a few weeks of being open. The first couple of drams from the bottle are mindblowingly TCP like and taste fantastic, much better than say a Bowmore

I love Islays, Caol Ila cask strength is amazing.
Lagavulin 16 is now £35 quid at one of the major supermarkets( forget which one)so well worth picking some up for xmas

Once you start drinking Lagavulin 16, its pretty hard to drink any other scotches

yes! TCP! thats the Ard Beg hit, perfect description TLM, as I'd expect from you.

Islays are, maybe not an acquired taste, but something people love, or hate from the first taste, very distinctive...

Sadly my knowledge of Islay whiskies ain't able to compete. If I ever get around to buying booze online that'll change though. Have only really tried a couple other than Laphroaig. Someone once sent me a bottle of an Islay but buggered if I can recall the name. Was a mite tastier than Laphroaig though from memory. The only other one I've tried was Tescunt own brand Islay which was actually just about the tastiest whisky I've ever had. No Tescunts round here though so no idea if they still sell it. Was cheap too.

Look for Black bottle ( not to be confused with Black Label)
Along with White Horse and Islay Mist , they are the only 3 blended decent price budget scotches that use Islay malts as a base and therefore give you a decent hit of Peat.

Black Bottle can be found in Tescunts this time of year, and cheap as fuck summat like £13, but seriously I would pay double the price for it.
Years ago White Horse contained a fair bit of Lagavulin in it, but the quality has diminished now, but its still a top blend

You can get Black Bottle Online as well , but Tescunts should have it

If your local Offie has White Horse shambles, jump on it, great bottle for its cheapo price and very Islay like, after the first 2 drams it taste just like a Single Malt
