Gibberings CXV - Documented proof

I will indeed as the recommendation is now coming from so lofty a source, Mr Fishy <3

Any particular reason you recommend? Personal experience or perhaps more just concern at the ominous nature of permapoppy stuff?

Kate: Halloo!!! I apologise. Had the builders in all week so not been able to bathe. That'll be me nads on the whiff :o

Have never actually tried gaba/preg but from what I've read they're primarily aimed at neuropathic pain. I'm guessing I probably would've been offered 'em by now if the docs considered them at all suited cos they'll try anything short of strong opi's before referring to the folk who basically only prescribe strong opi's. Then again. also have a long history of abusing benzos so maybe they're just concerned that preg/gaba would be too close to a wonderdrug or summat. Doubt it. They've never really appealed at all to me tbh. Maybe they're just not familiar with 'em as painkillers round here cos I'm not sure they're necessarily recommended for use as such on the NHS are they?

I was suggested and prescribed Gabapentin by a standard NHS doctor so its definitely there, nerve pain is one of its primary approved uses its not one of those 'off label' prescriptions.

Its really sorted things out for me, was taking so much codeine/tramadol before being put on this stuff. Now I take the occasional co-codomol when needed but that's it. But yes my pain is definitely of the nerve/neuropathic nature, went to a neurologist who diagnosed it as that. Insanely severe burning pain in both sides of sinuses, very odd. 100mg tram was barely taking the edge off before i got on the nerve pain drugs :\

No idea if it would be any use in your situation, but who knows, could be worth asking about. I've certainly read of many general chronic pain patients being put on it.

Hmm... Seems like all are luvvin the gaba/preg stuff. Will bring it up next time I see me doc if my specialist appointment hasn't come thru by then. I've read up a bit on it but it honestly sounds like dogshit-onna-stick to me. But haven't tried it so who knows? Anything that works and has at least bearable side-effects is fine by me.

Mr Fish Mr Fish - many hellos and memories of you and your gorgeous lil one <3 She must be getting big and quite the lady now.

And hallos to you stranger :D

What brings you round these parts apart from the depraved debauchery, sadomasochism and druggery self harm - I find the flowers and recipes nice 8)

You still got that pony tail?

I've not had much in the way of negative side effects, yes there is an element of drowsiness but compared to high dose opiates its not too bad at all IME. I've managed to work a pretty mentally intense job while on it the whole time.

However I've read of some people really not being able to function with how out of it they feel, so varies person to person like anything I guess.

Right that's it, the Bluelight medical team has decided that Shambles is allowed to try Gabapentin. If only we could find that golden prescription book, someone has stolen it.

Let's just say 'personal experience' - no need for unnecessary suffering <3

Hmm... Interesting... Most of what I've read about that family of drugs has been tales of hellish w/d after a briefish initial <3spell. Expect most of such tales were due to excessive recreational use though. Intruguing that so many have come out in favour of it...

Then it's settled. Will definitely mention it next time I see me doc. He's always been pretty good at letting me pick me script (to a point) in the past so will run it by him.

Thanks for the tips, folks :)<3

Surely you have considered plaits?

As long if it isn't 2 aka pigtails the idea sounds ok - the execution though might be different. Ffs I'm used to bald headedness , all this talk of hairdo's is turning my lol head 8(

Undoubtedly you could do with a trim. Metaphorically or otherwise...

Gosh 8)

I have a week of annual leave in front of me and no drugs :| I am scared and put upon in the name of being responsible and grown up. fuckin; damn badger mint twiglets :p

40mg has had me hyperactive all evening, I'm starting to worry about sleep.

Don't take any more and you'll be ready for sleep in a couple of hours. It's quite a merciful drug in that regard (ain't no MDPV :p)

yeah im not taking anymore, its quite a different kind of stimulation, 40mg was too much even.

Surely you have considered plaits?

Not really. Occasional Mz Shamblz has plaited it once or twice but never lasts long. Think it's more just that ladygirls have a "thing" for fiddlin' about with me locks. And are more than welcome to. As long as they're not having to be picked out me eyes and/or mouth at regular intervals alles ist shoen with me.

And yes, definitely in need of a trim. Not been trimmed in well over a year. Don't really grow much these days. Equilibrium is about arselength when stretched it seems.
Also, "badger mint twiglets"?!? =D<3=D

I would also like to find out more about these badger mint twiglets. How do they infuse them with the flavour of badgers?

I'm a little surprised that it's alien to you. I'm not a fan, as it's not fun, but I found the extreme focus I felt on it a similar to MDPV.

Wasn't ever really general discomfort as a nipper. Was highly acute at the time. Used to have to have loadsa time off school and if I could get into school often had to arrange myself in some flat-out weird, twisted positions to get at all comfy. Wasn't so much that it wasn't taken seriously by docs as that my mother got into homoeopathy when I was very young so we weren't really allowed to go to the docs often as I grew up.

No one else found this fucked up and disturbing? I didn't have any medical problems, or acute pain growing up, but if I had you could be assured my parents would have found a homoeopathic remedy. Mt dad even found a remedy for "useless fucked up waste of space" and gave it to me, because at age 13 I had a crush on a teacher.
