crazy that the woman in the hospital who the australian radio hosts who pranked the hospital spoke to commited suicide, wtf

Its probably a godsend that you've avoided being prescribed Pregabalin Shambles. It really isn't the panacea that people claim it is. Short term its lovely and you will no doubt be too euphoric to notice your knee pain. Unfortunately, however, tolerance builds pretty rapidly, its a massive weight gainer and worst of all it has a dramatic effect on cognition.
Its also a lot more addictive than pfizer have claimed. Meta studies suggest dependency and withdrawal are on par with benzos.

I'm on Gapapentin, pretty high dose now too. It is an absolute godsend for the nerve/neuropathic pain I have, really could not function without it. However it also has the side effect of making me feel rather...good. Which is no bad thing I guess. But there's definitely addiction potential, I do sometimes look forwards to the next dose a bit. But then I, like most people on this forum, can get addicted to pretty much anything.

However if you search 'Gabapentin addictive' online all the top hits say how its not addictive at all, yet a bit more delving reveals a different story. Was taken out of a number of prisons stateside due to the inmates abusing the hell out of it.

Pregabalin is supposed to be even better too, might look into trying it since the Gabapentin is still not completely controlling the pain. Also the Drug Seeker portion of my brain is looking forwards to trying the by all accounts superior high.

What type of pain do you have Shambles?

What type of pain do you have Shambles?

My back is the main issue, Inso, so muscular/skeletal rather than neuropathic. Unfortunately the rest of the skeleton/muscle of pretty much all the body relies heavily on the back to keep it right so if you're back is fucked badly enough for long enough it spreads to just about everywhere. Plus, I'm knocking on a bit now so it's going downhill fairly rapidly. This latter issue seems to be the tipping point though, oddly enough. Seems that cos I've been so consistant in complaining about a specific issue for so long (literally since early childhood) and have continued to do so when I was scag-addled and for many years since I quit, I've reached the Age of Acceptance when they've realised I'm either so persistant in my attempts at drugseeking I should win by default or it's a genuine issue and should maybe, finally, get some properly scripted analgesics to deal with it.

The simple fact is, that anybody with a chronic pain issue is gonna hafta use highly addictive drugs longterm to control said chronic pain sooner or later. Whether that be gaba/preg, minor opioids or, eventually, proper opi's. Luckily I have a decent relationship with me doc and have spoken with him several times about the history of opi abuse/self-medication/penchant for recreational opi abuse stuff and have been consistently honest about the whole thing. It just ain't my fault that the only meds that are of use in my circumstance also happen to be a lifelong DOC. It kinda makes sense that folk with chronic pain are gonna be drawn to illicit opiate abuse when the NHS ain't helping really...

Ah that sounds rough, been going on since childhood too? Pain and general discomfort that isn't massively acute doesn't tend to get taken too seriously in the young, often leading to later problems.

It is my understanding that Gaba/Preg only work for neuropathic pain since they aren't technically painkillers in the general sense, but I could be wrong.

Must be a bitch having a drug abuse record while trying to get genuine pain meds as well, they must be so reluctant to give anything but the bare minimum. Do you think your past heroin use had anything to do with this chronic pain issue? There's nothing intrinsically wrong with being addicted to a drug if it is really genuinely helping, so long as one is not abusing it as such.

Wasn't ever really general discomfort as a nipper. Was highly acute at the time. Used to have to have loadsa time off school and if I could get into school often had to arrange myself in some flat-out weird, twisted positions to get at all comfy. Wasn't so much that it wasn't taken seriously by docs as that my mother got into homoeopathy when I was very young so we weren't really allowed to go to the docs often as I grew up.

Discovering opiates in my mid-teens was amazing. Could finally function normally. Well... whilst I could afford a habit anyway. There's a very schizoid view of drug dependancy in the NHS. If you ab/use painkillers in a self-medicating stylee you are pariah to be given nowt... for pain. You get fuckloads for the addiction side of things though... Which are exactly the same drugs. As soon as you stop abusing the stuff and try to go legit you're still seen as a drugseeker except they stop providing the drugs cos you're no longer addicted to 'em. Fucked up system :\

Have never actually tried gaba/preg but from what I've read they're primarily aimed at neuropathic pain. I'm guessing I probably would've been offered 'em by now if the docs considered them at all suited cos they'll try anything short of strong opi's before referring to the folk who basically only prescribe strong opi's. Then again. also have a long history of abusing benzos so maybe they're just concerned that preg/gaba would be too close to a wonderdrug or summat. Doubt it. They've never really appealed at all to me tbh. Maybe they're just not familiar with 'em as painkillers round here cos I'm not sure they're necessarily recommended for use as such on the NHS are they?

a photo of her house on google street view

i still find the street view concept somewhat bizarre.. pretty damn cool really, something that actually lives up to the hype of what 21st century technology was meant to be

..but you have to ask yourself if youre comfortable with some huge, omnipresent, private company which can come into the ownership of any old cunt - at any time - having visual images of your street and house to go with the information on social/economical disposition gathered from you online

i mean, itd be nice to let a murderous government of the future do some of the work itself

i was in a car having a sesh when the google car turned up. it came right up into the carpark we were in. not particularly exciting but it did strike me as kind of crazy how that image of us smokin drugs in a blue 106 will be viewable by anyone the world over.. although granted the likelihood of anyone of note randomly searching council house carparks in dudley is slim at best

Why is it euphoric stims are so perfect in the moment, feeling like the true you, spot on enlightenment then the after effects are so destroying. actually fuck the answer, its obvious. but i always ask the question

hahaha some lynx chemically shit with gillette, lynx was cheap to get the oil off from work, nearly outta both so slapped them together n it smelt like eggs, couldnt work out what it was, still cant work out why it smelt like eggs, what is the cause of this smelly shite. it went fast but im not a fan of slapping of rough smelling eggs

Wowsers! It's Mr Fishy 8o<38o

I will mention it as so many have brought it up in connection with chronic pain. I do have my doubts in terms of costs outweighing benefits but that's probably just down to a lifetime of opi's being in and/or around and about the place...

Hope and trust all is well with you and your shoal <3

Trust you'll have a chat with your doc' about this <3
