What are you listening to? Fantastic lyrics , political undertones & racial profiling

Good shit :D

Listening to Happy Mondays - Pills, Thrills, and Bellyaches.

Never actually listened to them before, bar a house party in Manchester, so it's kinda good. Literally got like five bands on this computer, my desktop PC at home is basically a music and film server now but that's fuck all use when I'm not within range of our wireless network and I'm thinking 50 miles might be stretching it a wee bit. So I've got the Mondays, Mad Capsule Markets, Joy Division, Cock Sparrer, and Agnostic Front on here and I'll be rinsing those til I'm home and can send them to live on my desktop with the rest of their musical friends.

The Shaggs ~ Philosophy of the World (full album 1969)

I know it is voted as 1 of the worst albums ever & they had no real skills in their music but I like it so much, I learned about them from a piece on Kurt Cobain.
I heard 1 recording from a day care place & the noise from the kids was louder than their actual playing.

So basic yet it makes my heart all full of sunshine (for a change)

The Pixies "Hey clip"

Quite simply, one of the greatest tracks ever recorded. Performed/mimed by 2 girls in their bedroom.

Then to chill out a bit - Bob Dylan - Hurricane

The first track on the Awesome album "Desire".

Next found an awesome acoustic "street" cover version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnKmfQ21iLY

I thought i loved the song because of the electric violins, but this shows what a great song it is, even without them, & stripped down to it's bare bones. Certainly helps that the guitarist can really play.

Haha Jesus, that is genuinely terrible but I can't actually dislike it for some reason

They draw you in, you hate it at the start but I think it's how basic they are that makes you fall in love with them, plus when yo read the story to the band it makes it even more clear.

"Where do I start in trying to describe this album? The short and easy version is (probably) that this is one of the funniest, most original and oddly enjoyable albums I've ever heard. A girl-group born of pure DNA, not the product of a svengali producer or TV show"

They were fucking incredible the other night, someone took some nice videos there and I've been watching them ever since. Absolutely killed it, put bands decades younger to shame.

Sepultura are good too

After 'Swans' (aka Michael Gira Pension Fund) released a terrible record full of ponderous wank and KAREN FUCKING YEAH YEAH YEAHS OH, FOR FUCK'S SAKE, it's all down to this man to make the epic apocalyptic album of the year:

Scott Walker - Jolson & Jones

From the trailer, it appears the new one will be even weirder. Coming very soon. Can't wait. :)
