Why did you choose your Bluelight user name?

I changed my userame here the first time I became a mod, cause you can do that when you become a mod. The 2nd time I became a mod I didn't bother. Boringness, inoffensiveness and not of note appeal.
Pretty sure it's only the one name-change, though that rule has been bent before and I'm sure it will be again.

I used to have a username that might as well be my real name, and what with me being such a notorious BL badboy and all-round shady chap it seemed wise to change it to something so ubiquitous as to be nearly anonymous. Also, Star Wars rules.

I couldn't imagine changing my username or my avatar.

Another forum I've been on since 2002 I've had the same name and avatar, and won't change them. Why would you? It's my "name".

(I might for "security reasons", but I can't see that being necessary)

I use the same user-name on a few different forums (but different avatar) Some people think this is a bad idea, but I can't see what the problem is? I think its handy because if I'm on another forum and if someone from Bluelight comes on that forum then we recognize each other (well they recognize me) But maybe its not a good idea, I don't know? I don't use that many forums anyway. I use Bluelight much more regularly than the others.

SpecialK cause I love ketamine, used to tag the odd time with it too, there's another few reasons but that's the main ones.

Mine comes from a bowdlerisation of the opening lines of the Irish national anthem, and which goes in English, Soldiers are we whose lifes are pledged to Ireland which a barman friend and I changed to Gannets are we, whose lifes are pledged to alcohol. As we had been Singing this the night before I signed, my choice of username seemed appropriate.

Ructions coz I've always been into Punk and Punks always have stupid names! When I was younger my mates used call me Ructions, don't know why? ;) But honestly I don't like causing ruction with the nice people on Bluelight, but its good to cause a bit of ruction with the government! GURrrrrrr.....

This is a great idea for a thread Swedger, some people have some really good names on here. I have met up with a few Bluelighters and its hard getting used to calling them by their real name when you first meet them, I kept going to call them by their BL user-name! :)

I was very much into different types of rock, metal and punk.
My favourite punk band is The Exploited, have you heard them Ructions?
They sing that all time punk classic 'Fuck A Mod'. We used to love playing that as loud as possible while enjoying a pretty violent mosh.
Good old days

i just saw the best name while looking for the angry thread sideorderofopiates. well i like it. shall i send em a random pm?
couldn't find the angry thread so this is what makes me really angry. on watchdog when they dedicate time to one of the major companies misleading the public over sale prices and not sale prices and even worse not making their small print big enough. they are companies htere to make money for themselves not to save us money... if you don't do the sums and look out for things yourself, they'll have you over just like a dodgy roofer. con you into buying things you neither need nor want. sales

The best name I ever saw on Bluelight was Whoremoaning, always made me laugh whenever I saw that name.

whoever wanted to know why using the same name is considered risky is because if a site gets hacked and you use the same password on other sites especially if youve entered card details - the sloppy shit hits the big fan, as it were

i however use different passwords then promptly forget them, so you pays your money you takes your choice

Mine was poorly chosen after a weekend where someone described me & my mates as part-time crackheads or weekend junkies. No-one we hang about with takes heroin or crack cocaine so calling someone a crackhead was just equivalent to calling them a wreckhead or whatever.

I'd only jumped on here to ask what the fuck was wrong with my swedgers, I didn't expect to still be around 5 years later. It does get annoying having to occasionally explain that I am not actually a crackhead, I've never even fucking seen the stuff. Can't be fucked changing it now & the fucking mods won't do it for me :|

I was gonna kill it at 15000 posts exactly & start a new account but I forgot.

Yeah, good choice of name - though a certain Mr. Cobain deserves some credit for that one. Great BLer and fantastic mod / smod too. If it weren't for him and Evad I wouldn't have stuck around to be honest.

Whether you think that's a good thing or not (me sticking around) is another matter and not one for this thread. But the fact is they made me feel welcome where one or two other staff members of the time certainly didn't. I won't dwell on that, however, and bygones are bygones.

It does give me a chuckle whenever somebody accuses the current staff of favouritism / cliquiness / tyranny or whatever though, I must admit.

Me too, I joined to ask about pink rolexes, I think, then stayed around for the chat. I was a very reluctant poster at first- all the talk of smack and crack spooked me a bit. They're not things which I have any desire to try but now it's the talk of certain RCs which spook me more.
