Someone dismissing suede as a choice of material for trainers, what? You're mad. Oh it's Spade. Hiya.

I've got two pairs of these twats. One's about seven years old and the other's about fifteen years old and they're both wicked:

Sorry, I thought about getting some ten years ago when I was minted but even in those heady times they were a bit pricey. I wonder if the parents of that kid had some kind of RIGHT, FUCK HIM moment re their son at that point- maybe the scales fell from their eyes regarding buying luxury brands for the little fella and since then he was always rocking JJB's finest.

Can't believe we've got so many suede trainer lovers on here. Suede is minging.

Converse are fucking dull, overpriced and badly made. I have a pair which someone gave me and I wear them when I have to be 'presentable' in front of clients. They're safe and uniform and both of those are things which trainers should not be. Footwear is a window on your mind. It should be mental.

Back on topic, I want one of these, but it's not ever going to happen because i) I'm mainly skint and ii) they were some ludicrously limited edition. It's the Buzz Rickson William Gibson edition MA1. Makes me stiff.

I had some nice Schott bombers over the years

They clearly aren't though. The all blue ones are fucking excellent trainers. You're either tripping or lying if you think otherwise (or you're Spade).

You're just annoyed at me for not thinking your high-tops were absolutely amazing instead of just standard black high-tops lol.

a) my ones were blue, b) brown sambas basically, come on to fuck lol. You would look like an absolute object wearing them dude. I usually actually like the hoodies and t shirts you post but 2/3 pairs of those sneaks you posted were a disgrace!

In my opinion if your trainers don't fiercely divide people then you're doing something wrong. So even Knock has done alright there, at least theoretically. Although I don't like his shoes I admire the fact that most people think they're disgusting.

They aren't over priced, they cost £40 which is cheaper than you'd pay for Adidas or Nikes etc usually. The quality is fine. The current pair I own I've had for about 6 months and aside from being scruffy they are in fine nick.

The fact you wear Converse, the most casual footwear I can think of (aside from flip flop) when you want to be presentable kind of says a lot about your style though really doesn't it. Converse are not 'smart' or 'presentable' shoes, the exact opposite.

Look at the materials, though. A £50 pair of nikes or adidas will be leather, rubber, maybe some manmade bits or even... shudder... suede plus whatever the sole is made of. A £40 pair of converse is basically a tea towel and some melted erasers.

I wear handmade leather shoes when I want to be properly presentable (snagged from a rural charity shop unworn for £15, thanks dead guy). The field I work in has substantially different rules to most regarding presentation. It'd probably be extremely damaging to turn up in the kind of shoes most people would consider sensible for work, or ironed trousers.
