Did Sasha Shulgin go mad? crazy video..

I have all his books and documentaries.. i love the man.. sorry if i came off the wrong way.. im starting to regret i posted this..
 
I hope you do regret it. I see no signs of dementia whatsoever, in fact from this clip I'd argue the exact opposite. Aside from slurring his words (he's almost 90 and had a stroke dude), he seems just as lucid as ever. The older you get the more humor you see in everything, or so my great Aunt tells me. She likes to crack jokes often to. Sometimes they're misses, sometimes they're hits, but never are they signs of a decaying mind. I find this thread somewhat offensive, thoroughly disrespectful, and think it should be deleted. Shulgin is a living hero who deserves better than this.
 
The only way i reckon he could be considered mad, is in a sense he's not entirely humored by someone shoving a camera in his face and asking him to "speak" without providing a subject or reason for doing so. Like its a waste of his time talking to whoever was filming, that they're expecting him to say something profound or relevant because he's Dr. Shulgin, the celebrity drug chemist, something i reckon he's not too happy about. Just my 2c(-x) :p.

This. Strokes destroy cognitive functioning. Very sad that man is a true hero. I just recently bought a copy of PIHKAL I encourage everyone with an interest in phycadelics to buy a copy it truely is a remarkable work
 
^^yes, looks "neurological" to me. I'm not a trained professional but quite close.. ;)
there is usually /some/ recovery from that kind of damage btw. and afaik he is (slowly) recovering form his stroke...
 
Definitely of mine and countless other's heroes. I have endless respect for this genius of man, but old age gets the best of us humans. I'm glad he's lived such a happy, accomplishing life. Created and documented some of this world's empathogenic/psychedelic/euphoric/anti-depressant drugs. May he fade off into his old age happily.
 
This thread is quite sad. Sasha has Dementia (I believe its Alzheimer's Disease), as many of you know. Ann has written a lot about it. This is no laughing matter. It's tragic. And it's particularly painful when it's someone you know or admire.

I do not see any further knowledge coming out of this. If I were a mod I would close this thread.
