You could if you didn't use that bath again for the next fortnight. It's probably one of the three or so large plastic nuts which hold the plumbing to the bath tub coming loose, get under there and have a look. It'll be obvious where the water is coming through when you get the side panel off. You might need a torch and to run the taps to locate the leak, and it probably will be at one of the plastic nuts. Maybe the trap (elbow shaped bit) is too tight to the floorboards underneath and you standing in the bath to shower is putting weight on it and making it flex a bit, causing the leak.

Anyway, tighten any leaking nuts with a towel over your hand (haw) and see if that fixes it. If not get plumber's putty from a shop and squidge shitloads of that on over the leaks, that'll hold for years.

I almost had a red wine disaster. The wine I buy is usually a screw top, this had a cork which I'm not used to opening and it almost got stuck in the bottle because of the shitty corkscrew I was using and my inability do use it. Just managed to salvage it without corking it. Phew! :)

I only learnt a while back that a corked bottle of wine has nothing to do with breaking the cork or getting bits of cork in the wine, it's something to do with the something in the cork reacting and contaminating the wine, making it taste bad. If you break a cork it's fine to push it into the bottle and then just tip the wine through a sieve to get rid of the bits of cork with no fear of it tasting like wet carpet:)

Re fucking up the uncorking of a wine bottle. When I've been corkscrew-less I've used the handle end of a wooden spoon (apparently I've got plenty of those ;) ) and just gradually applied more pressure and pushed the cork in gently. You can do it with a cork that's been butchered by failure from a dodgy corkscrew too .. need to use the handle of the spoon to keep the cork from bobbing at the neck end of the 1st glass you pour though, otherwise it just piddles out.

Every corked bottle of wine I've come across (in the true sense of a corked bottle, like atm just mentioned) has always tasted like a port to me ... it stood out very clearly in terms of taste because I fucking hate port

Every day's a school day. Never knew that. I would have drank it anyway, regardless of what it did to the taste.

Why do they insist on using corks if it can react badly with the wine, why not just use screw tops that are much easier to open? I bet it's some pretentious purist wanker thing.
 
Dunno, I assuming that these days it's only used to try and differentiate £5 from £15 a bottle wine and nothing else, most of the bottles Mrs atm has are those plastic corks with the hard outer and spongy inner. I've never been much of a wine drinker, used to indulge in a bit of red, that table wine that comes in plastic bottles did me ;)
 
My current bottle was under a fiver and has a proper cork. It's the first cork in ages and I buy different wine every week but usually under a fiver.

Lol, I bounced from that to Iberian Lynxes, which live in cork forests, when they're not going extinct, and found out that Saber Toothed Tigers are technically known as Smilodons. I like that a lot.

I've got a free house for 2 weeks and I fancy some drugs. What legal drugs can I order cheaply off the internet that are decent?
 
I used to like Argentinian Malbec, very rich and heavy, the sort that leaves your lips all black, wine seems like a much healthier option for moderate drinking than almost anything else. I never really cared for white, other than an expensive tastes for champagne.

Cork is better in the sense that it's not totally air-tight, which means it lets a little air in and helps to improve the flavour (i.e. It lets the wine breathe a bit, at the risk of corking it)

My favourite wine probably. Drinking Malbec in Mendoza whilst eating a steak was when I decided I liked red wine.
