So generally, it's not that difficult to tell how intoxicated you are on opioids. However, I have noticed that when combining them with other drugs (LSD, mushrooms, MDMA or other stimulants) the effects are often masked. In fact, I almost overdosed on a combination of heroin and MDMA for this very reason. Even some of the tell tale signs of opiate intoxication, like constricted pupils, can be overshadowed by the mydraisis.
However, what I have noticed is that when I get extremely high on opiates, I begin to have difficulty swallowing. For me, that is always the sign not to do any more. I don't know if this can work for everyone, and of course I would not recommend solely relying on this method. In other words, just because you can swallow, don't assume you're good to shoot another gram. However, IF you are high on opiates and are having trouble swalloing, then I would recommend not using any more.
