Xanax and Lortab

i'd save it for tomorrow, yeah. space your dosing out as much as possible to avoid potential dependency.

eating a short while beforehand will disrupt the absorption rate but you'll still metabolise the drug fully; and the effects will be less pronounced than on an empty stomach. eating on it can dull the high a little in my experience, though, not much.

Okay, truthfully this helps my PTSD more than my usual DOC for alleviating symptoms, Cannabis. But I am somewhat afraid of being prescribed it because I've heard w/d from Benzo's are horrendous.
Yeah, if you take it all the time you will get a dependence and it will work less and less, you might even get worsened anxiety, so benzos are something you only want to take once in while. Have you tried EMDR - eye movement desensitization and reprocessing - or anything similar for your PTSD?

Also remember that the higher the dose of Xanax, the quicker you'll build a tolerance to it.
I mean even in a few days.
So try use the absolute minimum of Xanax for relief and it'll take longer before you build a tolerance to it, also you would make your physical Xanax pills last a lot longer.

So I shouldn't try to get prescribed it because of risk of dependence? I mean cannabis works well on my anxiety and flashbacks, but it's so damn expensive for a college student.

I wouldn't.
Once dependent on Xanax, you would pay any amount of money not to be addicted to it.
There are other longer acting benzos that you could discuss with your doctor. (If in fact you really need to start on benzos).
