Well I'm not sure given those circumstances, perhaps muscle relaxers during this time period is not a good idea, I have no idea so discuss it with your doctor, just tell him what's going on and ask him if there's anything that's safe to take.
 
the neurosurgeon recommended neurotin but my mom was against it and now the pain levels are really getting high and she wanted to be sure so she was trying to get in to see the neurologist and he resheduled.

It's amazing how many times I've been screwed over by doctors, but every so often, I'll have a pleasant surprise that almost gives me hope again in the medical field. I admit these days I am hopeless. Stuck in a pain management clinic with a contract to a doctor who doesn't treat me seriously.

Like most docs that I see for help with pain management are not compassionate but every now and then a doc will surprise me. Many years back I was RX'd Norcos and she upped me to percocet out of the blue without me even asking for it and increased my dose. Then a few months later a doctor increased my dose from 20mg of oxycodone per day to 80mg! I was stunned by him actually taking my pain seriously.

I have also had great experiences with some doctors who even cared so much as to call me a few days later and see how I was doing!

Compassion like that honestly brings tears to my eyes, (even now looking back even though I don't have as good healthcare now) because I'm so used to being screwed by doctors.

Yoga is far better for your back than pilates. Anything that forces you to use more weight than your body can tolerate is not helpful, especially for the back.

Trust me about this, I was able to go narcotic-free for 5 months after spine surgery due to yoga. It can and will change your life.

Is your family christian scientist? Or what is with the adverse opinion on medications? Neurontin and Lyrica are great medications that can definitely help. As far as muscle relaxers go for the back, I've used them all and have high opinions of soma, baclofen and zanaflex.
 
Hey BigDaddy01 What's up

I don't like the idea of him on Soma, it's a CIII now anyways and he's only 16. But hey, I took it since I was younger too but I really have problems living without soma. Life without soma SUCKS now, I hate hate HATE methocarbamol I need my carisoprodol backkkkk. I need a new doctor but I'm trapped cos my HMO. :'(

No lol, adverse opinion. I am really limited on range of movement and activity because of syringomyelia , I loose sensation in my legs if I bend in anyway.

That is why yoga would be good for you; your body naturally stops in a pose so you know how far you can tolerate going and to not go any further. Also, I did alot of yoga at first with 5-10 people and only moved on to big studio classes (30-40) once I had several weeks under my belt.

Tri: Yeah I forgot about his age, and soma is one of the more abusable muscle relaxers around. Probably not a sound option. Good call.
 
Im addicted to oxycodone.have been for a little over a yr.. i was clean for a couple months but recently relapsed and im finding it harder to quit now then it was befor. Ive never posted befor so any responce is a helpfull one :)

The pain management thread might not be the best place to post this. There's a difference between dependence and addiction.

Why the hell would a pain specialist put you on Soma, then take it away when it works so much better for you ?
