vaccines hurt more than help... autism, parkinsons, cancer etc...

I personally think that getting influenza is a lot worse than getting vaccinated. Most people don't have to take 2 weeks off work (or go to work for the same... if you're a desperate individual/not allowed sick days) while feeling like total ass from getting a vaccine.

Influenza is relatively mild when compared to tetanus, polio, measles, smallpox, diptheria, meningitis, hepatitis, et cetera. If you can say to me with a straight face that a 0.5% chance of irrepairable nervous system damage (poliovirus) is better than a 0.1% risk of immune reaction (local pain, flushing, fever) then I have a bridge to sell you.

Mercurochrome seems to be a safe an effective disinfectant, sort of ironically... studies have found it better than silver-based disinfectants. And I haven't found anyone attempting to link it to autism yet.

Mercurochrome is minimally absorbed even after the application over a larger raw surface area and does not show any systemic toxicity or electrolyte imbalance. It is effective at any pH as well as in presence of pus, blood and serum. It is effective in very low concentration and at the same time inadvertent application of higher concentrations does not affect the wound. It does not interfere with the uptake of a graft on the local area.

I guess there's just a lot of scare whenever someone mentions mercury. Kind of like the opposite of dietary selenium...

Disease is natures way of controlling population imo.... disease usually only becomes a serious problem in areas of dense population....

The flu can kill ppl... but it doesnt kill most people who get it... i think deadly disease means that you have say more than a 10% chance of death or permanent damage to those who contract it :\
between 50- 130 million people in 1918-20 may beg to differ

^Oh God! As soon as I saw Alex Jones I closed it8(. Alex Jones is a wingnut fearmonger who pulls conspiracy hypotheses out of his ass.

Could someone who can bear watching it give me a summary?

The core of his argument is valid tho.. theres a huge wedge bein driven between the left and riht and its all the same world banker bullshit that neither party is even any different and real change comes from community and socializing... not from hating the opposition and wanting to beat them

While we're at it, let's just reintroduce smallpox, allow everyone to get the flu (millions of children and seniors will die), and dump anthrax on Los Angeles.

If something becomes a problem then yea sure vaccinate... bit dont force it.. who cares who doesnt get the vaccine.... if u want ot then take ot and it wont matter if i get it or not cuz youve been vaccinqted riht?

I just think the whole profit motive has become unconnected from the purpose motive.... we have government labs that make diseases... check out lymes disease...

it wont matter if i get it or not cuz youve been vaccinqted riht?

Herd immunity. Even though a person has been vaccinated it doesn't always take and there's a (vanishingly small) chance they'll get infected anyway. So once a certain critical mass of the population recieves vaccinations, an infectious disease will find it very hard to spread to hosts if its only exposed to predominantly people who have a very low risk for acquiring the disease. The effect of systematic vaccination is therefore much more effective than individual vaccinations. Below that threshold vaccinations are drastically less effective.

This does mean that a small portion of the population can get away without vaccinations. But that simply doesn't hold true once a significant enough percentage of people start ignoring vaccinations. It's a stupid gamble.

When it comes down to the flu shots, most health authorities reccomend that only the at-risk get vaccinated (elderly, infirm), not everyone indiscriminately. I'm fine with that. But I think for truly endemic killer viruses etc. like polio. vaccination shouldn't even be a question... The public's health and safety shouldn't be compromised because 20% of them are idiots who belive vaccines are government mind control. I don't want to have to worry about the 0.1% chance a vaccine doesn't take if I'm going to be exposed to people possibly carrying a deadly virus. (Remember, there can be asymptomatic carriers)

Oh yeah, name the last time that a major world government conspired with a pharmaceutical giant to purposefully infect its citizens with military grade bioweapons for the select purpose of enriching the already fabulously wealthy? (Where have I heard that one before? spoilers: deus ex) The fact that researchers manage to engineer deadly viruses in labs doesn't imply anything more than that humanity has developed another method fo self-extinguishing. It's not like it's easy work to bioengineer and distribute microorganisms anyway, I can't exactly do it in my kitchen.

Basically, telling people to ignore medical advances because a man on TV told them to be scared is dumb.

Lol no i certainly dont think theyre controlling our minds or doing stuff like that... and if i get sick or think im at risk ill get vaccinations and antibiotics... but i like to have the choice not just have it be mandatory because some pharm company wants to market it...

Just like psychoactives... some i choose yes... some i choose no... sometimes i choose wrong but id rather choose wrong sometimes myself than have someone else choose with either outcome...

A dose of tetanus, diptheria, pertussis, hepatitis, and polio vaccine (5 diseases) costs around $7 a dose. Just diptheria, pertussis, tetanus is $1.50. Even the most expensive vaccines aren't much over $10 a dose. You'd pay more for a doctor's time to administer the meds than the vaccine!

The pharma companies are not encouraging vaccination because they want to get rich - trust me on this. If you think 50c to $1.50 is too much to charge for disease treatment wait until you see cancer bills.

I think most people agree that $10-20 and a small chance of a mild immune reaction is better than $5000 in hospital bills and lost time due to having whooping cough or meningitis.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and people are dumb animals. That's part of why you get vaccinated at birth - most kids wimp out at the idea of getting shots. Wouldn't hurt to just vaccinate them all and write it off as a public health expense. (Wait, is public healthcare still a taboo idea in the US?) Get the G.P.s and paediatricians involved so your choice is: enjoy the benefits of the health system, or don't.

If 1000 people get vaccinated it only takes 2 people with $5000 hospital bills to make it cost effective to just vaccinate everyone.

Again, I don't disagree with you entirely, but you are vastly overstating your case.
The effectiveness of vaccines is never, ever 99.9%, or anything close, to my knowledge.
I don't want to argue that vaccines are worthless or completely ineffective, but I feel that it is important to be realistic about how effective they actually are.

Until about 8 years ago, the meningitis vaccine was only moderately effective, but the new vaccine is very effective - around 96%, which is the best rate I have ever seen.

The Measles vaccine is considered to be among the most effective of all vaccines, but there have been many outbreaks in vaccinated populations.

The CDC even reported a measles outbreak in a documented 100 percent vaccinated population.

A study looking at this concluded, "The apparent paradox is that as measles immunization rates rise to high levels in a population, measles becomes a disease of immunized persons."

Flu vaccines don't work very well either. Recent evidence showed that flu vaccines do not help at all during some flu seasons, and are only moderately effective at best.

BCG is at best 80% effective against tuberculosis - and this is limited to certain geographical regions.
It is probably responsible for the end of TB in Europe, which is a very wonderful thing, but in other regions, it is less effective - and in many developing regions, it is literally 0% effective.

This survey article showed that in 8 studies, the pneumococcal vaccine was somewhat effective, and in 10 others, it had no effectiveness whatsoever.

In fact, there is some evidence that certain vaccines are essentially not effective at all, at least in certain populations.

In 1989, Oman saw a widespread polio outbreak six months after achieving complete vaccination.

Also check out this presentation on the issue, which shows epistemological trends that suggest that some vaccines may be far less effective than we might think or hope.

Well my grandfather was also a disease specialist in feedlot veterinary medecine... ive seen what goes into researching these new diseases and how effeftive the cures are... without being too specific he is best known for his work against anthrax and transmissible feline leukemia (essentially, feline "aids")

Progress can be made but this idea of eradicating the problem is an illusion...

And there is always the chance of making it stronger

Also lets not get into a source battle... i view and research many "opponents" websites... the truth usually lies sokewhere between the two extremes... i also frequent The RSA... and other avante garde think tank groups as well and if you remove all the bullshit the basic cry is the same... we need to look at a lot of problems and come up with solutions and as of right now nobody seems to have a great plan thats actually being implemented...
