anyone else hate it when people on alcohol put us down

It's actually just the "putting down" - on or off alcohol.

I think everybody knows that alcohol is beneficial when moderately taken - except for those with specific health conditions for whom alcohol is a no-no no matter what. It's when people take it irresponsibly that things go wrong. Take it at the right time, on the right place, and with the right people (and make sure you have a right mind 'til your last sip; or if not, be sure you're in good hands right away after, not driving or the like).

This girl who os an alcohol just told me well at least im addicted to anyhing bad like you. Wtf???????
She is going to die of liver failure before i blow a vein ugh

sounds like you guys need to stop being such sensitive pussies ;)

but seriously, who cares if lame ass people don't like you

Yeah, this girl I've been getting to know (one of those girls who everyone in my school likes, and her dad is a cop...) says like
"Why do LSD, how do you still have any braincells."

And I just calmly tell her how it's actually not destructive and encourage her to research for herself.
Then party on anyway.

I can't get her off my mind.... :|

one of the reasons i dont like people that drink alot and nothing else. they think because they do it all the time and they havent died means their shit is better then yours. alcohol is a drug.. and just because its legal it brainwashed people into thinking that alcohol is safer.... shit id rather have a good bowl pack then a 6 pack..

shes a cunt. plain and simple.

I fucking can't stand that shit alcohol is by far the WORST
fucking drug out there it's really really disturbing to see
how glamorized and cool that magazines & tv commericals
make it out to be if I'm not mistaken it's the drunk fuck
that gets behind the wheel killing that innocent family of 5
who are on thier way home after a nice dinner out NOT
the person who's done a big shot of clear NOT the person
who's just shot some heroin & NOT the person who just smoked
a big fatty it's the person who talked shit about us took that
drink & killed that family

My dad drinks every day after work. (Not drunk, but not sober either) My benzo maintenance dose of (now) 7.5mg diazepam is ofcourse too much drugs. He tolerates weed though so he's not that much of a hypocrite. He actually just wants me off painkillers & benzos alltogether. He once even said: if you're leading a normal life, I wouldn't mind if you snorted a line of cocaine now and then. He wants me to stop being addicted basically. (He won't give me a cig if he 'only' has 10 left, and I doubt he could/would ever stop drinking. So he's addicted too.. But he doesn't want that for me, which I can understand)

Well, I guess he's being fair. Still don't like it when he talks about weed asif it's some kind of poison when at the same time he's drinking his whiskey cola, beer, or w/e.

As someone that drinks plenty, and uses most other drugs extensively, I hate it when people look down on me for being a bit of a drunk. I respect that everyone has a drug of choice, and I enjoy all sorts of drugs, from psychs, to uppers, to downers, to pot. But it drives me especially mad when people judge me for cracking some beers on a wednesday after work, while they're just sitting around, either waiting for weed or stoned out of their mind.

Sure alcohol is a known poison, very abusable, and can make people do dumb shit. But I'm a humble type of guy. When I drink I have fun and shit, I don't act like a raging asshole, I crack jokes, and goof off and all that good stuff. I just hate the perception some have that people that get drunk are just ignorant assholes that just wanna raise hell and have no respect for common decency. I think alcohol is just as hard as heroin and cocaine, the fact it's socially acceptable is why you get so many of the raging alcoholic assholes. But I hope you guys don't judge all drunks like that! Because there are some good ones out there.

It does piss me off how they glamorize alcohol in commercials though, it's just sick that they do that, while imprisoning people for using other drugs. And drinking and driving is fucking dumb, I've lost family to that shit, people just need to be more responsible.

Yeah, that's totally true.
Alchohol is actually THE MOST toxic substance, aside from tobacco, perhaps. It effects the heart, liver, brain, kidneys, and it's withdrawal syndrome is incredibly dangerous, and can be fatal as well. I do notice in a lot of the rehabs and outpatient programs that I go to, that a good amount of the alchoholics really like to see themselves as different from heroin users, or coke users or whatever other kind of drug user there is. The reason for this? It's legal, and it's socially acceptable compared to injecting heroin or smoking crack. What people forget is that during the prohibition, alchoholics would get there alchohol through illegal ways too, and you bet if they banned alchohol today, there would be big problems.

That being said, I've known a lot of nice, and humble, alchoholics who don't think that there any better than us junkies. But yeah it pisses me off,
"

^ This. It pisses me off so much when people tell me to "cool it" with the drugs when they drink alcohol on a daily basis.8)

I was once in a meeting years ago and was talking openly about my heroin addiction and some rude recovering alcoholic tried to call me out on it! He said something along the lines that I'm an addict, not an alcoholic and I didn't belong there. Just total ignorance! So to answer the OP's question, yes, I hate it when people on alcohol put us down.

People who talk like that get a facepalm and my standard phrase; "Oh right, I keep forgetting alcohol isn't a drug."

Or to my dad when he whines about my weed use: "So, if we lived in Holland, weed would cease to be a drug, right?"

With roughly equivalent habits, drinking seems to come out as a lot more safe in the society we live in for the great majority of people. It is being hypocritical though. Alcohol has some horrible potential.
