when i go to parties i always get some comments from people drinking alcohol saying drugs are bad for you but they are actually worst because what they don't get is that alcohol is a drug and that its the 5th most dangerous drug in the world and also the ones that drink so much everyday feel so sick. drugs like cannabis is way safer and better for the mind. society is too brainwashed into thinking alcohol is the safest drug and the smartest drug to use to have fun. do you agree?

I loathe it when I am told about the evils of drugs by someone who drinks. But it is ignorance, and the constant bombardment of anti-drug propaganda and false information that promotes such anti-drug attitudes. I like alcohol, and other drugs, and I recognize all of their properties (including their risks) for what they are.

I don't like it when anyone puts us down for any reason at all, and I see the bigger picture; yeah, you know what, we're the generation that just cannot seem to get their shit together, and it's frustrating, but we're frustrated too, and we didn't have it easy, either. I mean, shit, two wars, rampant unemployment, a mountain of debt, a failing economy that looks like it's just about ready to break... I'm twenty-three now, and guess what, things haven't gotten any better for me or for anyone else my age; things have only gotten worse. And you're going to sit there and tell me that we're wrong for experimenting with substances and looking for some relief, some way to make the world just a little softer? Fuck off...

Sorry, I'm thinking about this conversation I had with an older woman who told me that we had "no excuse" for using drugs because of all the information that's out there on how bad drugs are and whatever else. She's an idiot, but whatever, the point is that I wouldn't put down anyone for their abusing substances, whatever their preferred substance may be, as I understand why we do it and why there seems to be a surge in substance abuse especially with younger people today. Hell, I grew up in a white, middle-class, suburban little town in Connecticut. I can't tell you how many kids I graduated with who are now addicted to something and very likely opiates. The way that I feel about it is this: We're all in it together, and if you're reaching out to something else, whatever it may be, coke, crack, dope, whatever, then you're one of us; I understand, and I wouldn't put you down for it.

Lol, and I laugh at them. Sadly I had to do a test before I got my job and it was like is having a couple of drinks the same as smoking a "weed cigarette" LOL they actually called it that. And I had to freaking keep answering questions saying alcohol is better than weed because weed is a bad drug. I hated doing that but I really needed the job :( I hate how people look at alcohol as safer and better than other drugs. I mean I drink but I know its a fucking shitty drug. I hate it but why do I choose to drink anyways? Just because something is legal doesn't mean its better than something that is not.

I always tell drinkers that alcohol kills more people than all illegal drugs combined & most of them look at me & actually agree..........

I also hate it when people quite happily get pissed but think that if you take drugs you are some kind of loser.
Personally alcohol is the only drug that I have ever lost my self control on and ended up arrested several times. Where no other drug has ever caused me to not know what I'm doing and has never caused me to get into any trouble at all.

Yeah, shit sucks. Same with stoners who put you down for using any other drug.

Yes. I use GHB as a healthy alternative to alcohol and drinkers commonly try and tell me that my drug is unhealthy, because it is made from a paint-thinning solvent.

The funny thing is that GHB is in every cell and the body is no stranger to it when one consumes it. Alcohol is a toxin that the body strains itself to get rid of.

I don't use alcohol to get drunk anymore. I did before because it was easy to access, and so many others were doing it, and it did make parties more fun a lot of the time. But black-outs, brown-outs, and vomiting were never fun. Now I drink it because it tastes good and makes things a little softer (in smaller quantities) or just to help sedate myself so I can get to sleep.

Any experience I have had with drugs, I remember completely. It is rare that I vomit when using drugs, and usually it's just because I drank too much cold water too quickly or something (haha). If it does occur, it is over in seconds and does not happen again, I feel better after doing so and can get back to enjoying the high. Vomiting on alcohol lasts hours, and leaves me feeling sick or down even longer!

The drugs I use are infinitely safer in comparison to alcohol, not to mention more enjoyable; it upsets me so greatly that alcohol and tobacco are the two things determined to be legal, when they are two of the most harmful substances out there. ><

stayfaded, one of the most things i hate about alcohol, is that some people get really violent on it, where as weed everyone is chilled.
Also many people who do shiftwork use alcohol as a means to sleep.(Because of drug testing in lots of places)

If someone gets stoned every evening, Vs someone who drinks every evening whos going to life longer

Yeah, that's totally true.
Alchohol is actually THE MOST toxic substance, aside from tobacco, perhaps. It effects the heart, liver, brain, kidneys, and it's withdrawal syndrome is incredibly dangerous, and can be fatal as well. I do notice in a lot of the rehabs and outpatient programs that I go to, that a good amount of the alchoholics really like to see themselves as different from heroin users, or coke users or whatever other kind of drug user there is. The reason for this? It's legal, and it's socially acceptable compared to injecting heroin or smoking crack. What people forget is that during the prohibition, alchoholics would get there alchohol through illegal ways too, and you bet if they banned alchohol today, there would be big problems.

That being said, I've known a lot of nice, and humble, alchoholics who don't think that there any better than us junkies. But yeah it pisses me off,

Well alcohol is arguably the 3rd or 4th most euphoric drug I have done. I don't see anything innocent about that.

People are such jerks too when they get real drunk..thinking they are all funny and shit. And it's mad dangerous when you get in the car and drive.

I personally think alcohol is a wonderful drug, but i do believe that the people who drinks huge amount of it every single weekend but still don't tolerate people intoxicating themselves in alternative ways, suffer from severe close-mindedness. It's sad to see how fear and social norms are keeping people from experiencing new things.

I hate it when people look down on me for trying drugs. With drugs - I have always remembered everything I've done. I know how my body is going to react. I have my stuff tested. I know how much to dose. I've tried alcohol and I can't see what is so exciting but it but hey if it works for you, that's cool. But don't try and tell me that what I choose to do is soooooo much worse.
sighhhhh

No intelligent person believes that alcohol is a healthy or safe alternative to drugs. "Problem Drinkers" never really get me down when they talk shit about my opiate use. The facts are in and scientific medicine says they will croak before I do.

Drunks are the most obnoxious of all party goers: completely unconscious and unaware of the things they say and do, slovenly body movements, lack of intelligence (alcohol shuts down the brain), and basically fucking annoying. I was at a dance last night and the only people who couldn't coordinate their spatial awareness were the drunks, and they were flying into everyone or just acting stupid.

Isn't it obvious why the government condones alcohol? It's the most unconscious of all drugs. It stupefies people. They don't want enthogens to be legal because those raise consciousness!
