It's a horrific wage but legal as I'm 20. The 4 weeks paid holiday, part time whenever I feel like it/am at college and the ability to dictate which 2 days I have off every week kind of makes up for it. Ridiculously easy job too for most of the time and plenty o free icecream and protein heavy lunches throughout the summer, leaving soon just before the busiest part of the year and heading off to uni in september.

Been at this place over 3 years and it was starting to drive me mad till I decided on a date to hand my notice in, the shite mismanagement of the place makes it worse as they waste so much money and wonder why the place is still shit.

It's good to hear that you're off to uni. I haven't found a degree to change an awful lot, but it's a fun 3 years that's for sure! I'm sure you'll appreciate it even more after all this bullshit too. What are you going to do a degree in?

Well obviously there is the possibility that we will all evolve wings and live solely off of oxygen and water. If you say this can't happen then you're just being arrogant, because no one knows the future 8) It's about taking an educated guess, if you disagree on the possibilities then why don't you explain to PTCH and I how the entire world is going to change it's mindset and what is going to cause this massive social change?

OK, I'll be brief. I think it's possible that ordinary working people can recognise that by co-operating, they have the ability to take control of their own lives. It'll take an economic squeeze which will demand their co-operation to preserve some semblance of their living conditions. When they do this, they'll wonder why they ever let themselves be governed.

I'm asking you to recognise both. What part of this makes me 6 years old?

I don't mind if you don't want to debate it. But let's face it, you provoked me.

Right, let's re-word that one as well then.

You're now asking me to admit to not knowing the future? Stop being 6.

The reason that makes you a 6 year old is that I obviously did not claim to know the future. I clearly don't know the future. Anyone over the age of 6 is aware of this. To say "Why can't you admit it?" makes it seem as though I am actually trying to make you believe that I know the future, or that you actually believe that I am claiming to know the future & that I can't admit that I don't (even though I fucking obviously cannot predict the future).

I didn't provoke you, I was looking for you to tell me why I was wrong. You proceeded to tell me that I was wrong because I am not capable of predicting the future. Which is a fucking pish argument to be fair. If that is what stands up then my jellyfish statement was just as relevant as your communism one.

MSB has explained it better than me in post #400, the way this thread is shifting there will probably be about a dozen posts in between by the time I send this.

You're a slippery wee snake. You dismissed an idea: "it'll never happen". You claimed to know the future.

And "becoming jellyfish" is not really in the same league as "achieving emancipation through co-operation".

Yep, but this has to happen on a global scale to succeed, and there is economic disparity throughout. In Africa the people regularly try and take control of their own lives, if they fail they get stuck in a civil war for years, if they succeed then they generally just end up being brutal dictators. Someone always always fucks over these things. The people will need to be lead by someone, probably charismatic. And there will have to be one of these people in every country and geographical location around the world, because whilst capitalism exists in one place it will keep on winning and the people in the communist bloc will look to the capitalist bloc and see that although the capitalists lead imperfect life at least they actually have food in their bellies and commercial goods. I'm pretty sure the situation you are describing has actually been tried at least 50 seperate times, in 50 different geographical locations, and each and every time it has failed pretty horribly. O, apart from the Paris commune, and down in one part of Spain for less than a decade...

It is just pie eyed and wishful thinking. You could be putting your mind towards solutions that improve people's lives within the current framework, rather than wilfully ignoring the world and humanities faults, holding out for something that more than likely can't and won't happen. We've already spoken this week about how the majority aren't switched on. They were born to be lead.

As I said, anyone over the age of 6 would have been able to reply to that statement with something other than "YOU CLAIMS TO KNOWS FUTUREZ".

In my opinion, it will never happen.

Is that better? Can you go back to poking lego up your nose now?

Flying has always been a bit of an impossibility due to energy densities and the physics of gravity (which is actually one of the weakest forces theoretically and in contrast/proportion with the other physical laws) so don't get all pissy about flying cars and jetpacks. Also, there do exist jetpacks and flying cars, you're just too poor to afford one.

The advances in computing and medical science however could pave way for quite a utopia if put in the right hands, but are often in the hands of the rich who can be a bit self serving, we live in interesting times. Bionic implants are just getting properly started too.

You're a moron, you are still projecting your own idea of my ideas onto me. When will it end? When will you actually grant other people the honour of attempting to understand them?

Not today, not me anyway cos I've got something better to do with my time ;)

Quantum physics states that there is a possibility that an atom could pass through a solid wall, or jump. Therefore there is a possibility that an entire human could walk 'through' a wall. But the possibility is so slim that even if you walk into a wall until the end of the universe times one billion, it still won't happen. So yes, anything is possible in theory. But I just want a bit of realism here. We aren't saying we can predict the with 100% accuracy, but I feel we're pretty close when we say communism won't happen without massive technological change that will take at least 50-100 years to come about.

As I said, I don't mind that you have an opinion, but why engage if you refuse to go deeper? It's troll behaviour.

Every time you've provoked me into explaining my understanding of what you believe this week I have nailed it, and there is no denying that. I know exactly what you believe, and I still think it is wishful thinking. I even agree with you that it could happen, I just disagree with you on time scales. I think if we force it again, it will be an unmitigated disaster.

I was thinking you seem different recently. Like, you've been getting on my tits quite a bit when you never used to haha.

I think I now know what it is. That question kind of highlights it. This is the "Post-Marmalade Knockando". I preferred the old one.

But that's not how it's seemed from where I'm sitting!

Feeling's mutual! If marmalade was back at least it would alleviate the sexual tension.

Haha and MSB has stopped pissing me off. What's happening with the world. XD

As for this, in the realms of music tech a degree, the experience and contacts are well worth it. Not just theoretical crap like many degrees seem to be, tonnes of hands on stuff and the range of practical knowledge is vast, not something that you can get anywhere as much of the "pro level" stuff is closely guarded in the industry.

Cannot wait :D
