They're not mugs, though, they have no choice. Circumstance!

It seems like over the last 2 days we've realised you and I aren't very apart in our thinking at all? What is your answer to all of this? And if you say socialism i'm gonna put my fist through my monitor ;)

By the way, I mostly say that to people who work for me who just so happen to be friends as well. I'd happily help fund their own start ups so they work for themselves, but they persist in being wage slaves for the security. A lot of people place a lot more value in security than freedom. To quote someone whose name eludes me, life should be a rollercoaster, not a merrygoround.

Really? It's always been my overriding philosophy. I tell everyone who works for me on a near daily basis that they are mugs for working for me, but they keep doing it.

If i was working for you n you called me a MUg i would spark you out straight , i'm surprised nobody has yet . Someone will soon hopefully cos you deserve it being a cunt like that.

£4.98 an hour can't be legal. Can it?

I'm not sure what the legal status of is or how much the 2 ingredients are in the states I'm just saying that certain people are prepared to pay silly money for it.
.
Cos they want to be like their idols & they probably don't kniw the cost of the ingredients they jus want their sizzurp mayne!

They probably don't even know what the ingredients are! They just want 'dat sizzzzzzzzzzurp!

Not socialism, COMMUNISM. Stateless, moneyless, classless society.

*sound of monitor cracking in the distance* - If only you understood my words!

I don't say it with malice, or I would have been 'sparked out'. I say it in a way that tries to highlight to them that they are choosing the worst of two choices - work for someone or work for yourself. There's nothing cuntish about trying to open people's eyes to the bullshit of the 9-5 life.

Why even discuss that when it has literally 0% chance of ever becoming reality? Real communism I mean, not Soviet Russia style.

I agree with (some of) the theory but it will never in a hundred million years be put into practice by anyone (unless there's a nuclear apocalypse), so what's the point even talking about it? Would it not be more practical to try & come up with an answer that is actually possible?

Not that I have anything close to that answer, but true communism is just a pointless pipe-dream. Is it not?

Obviously, because I don't agree it has literally 0% chance.

Obviously, because I believe it has a good chance.

What makes you so certain of what will be? Why are you the authority? Seriously, what makes you think you know the future?

The time for that will come when none of us have to work. You just have to be patient and let this technological path run it's course. Free energy, abundant food etc. Until then, it would just be forcing it.

All you have to do is catch someone on a bad day malice or not and their going to react surely ?
I rekon i get more sat here doing my own thing than i would working for you .

This is what I say to a lot of people who call for communism today. Yeah, sure, if I could pick out of thin air the way society 'should' be, and it could actually happen, then I would agree. But it's just wishful thinking. Even if we made a large concerted effort in that direction humans would fuck it up. 1% of the population are psychopathic, and they only look after number 1. The second they got into power we'd all be even more fucked than we already are.

What makes you think I'm not being patient? What makes you think I'm hoping for it to happen tomorrow? I'm not a fucking dafty.

I disagree that "this technological path" is in anyway something that needs to run it's course. I'm pretty confident we have the technology right now for everyone to live in comfort.

You need to stop projecting your idea of my ideas onto me!

And PT needs to see that his "I know the future" stuff is totally unfounded. It's a bit arrogant!

You really think that at some point in the foreseeable future it would be possible to implement a Stateless, moneyless, classless society?

OK. Fair enough.

I think you are more than a mile out but like you said, I don't know the future & I can't be bothered getting into it tbh.

I don't work with random people I barely know brimz, I work with my friends. I don't know what sort of things you do or don't do to supplement your basic income, so I don't know if you do make more for yourself than you would working for me.

it is the legal minimum wage for 18-20 year olds (16-18 is £3.68.)

shocking really... they don't get discount on buying food or clothes so why should they get paid less?

They may soon end up being ineligible for housing benefit as well, which is all the more unjust when you consider the pay disparity.

Incidentally I know of one pop-star pub owner in this neck of the woods who's famously a self-proclaimed socialist, yet pays his staff minimum wage regardless.

I'm not saying who, but he's definitely not an underground type either. Lots of very-mainstream success in previouis decades.

Hopefully people are dipping in the till right now by way of redressing the balance.

That's what Lenin and Stalin thought, isn't it? When they kicked off the revolution way way too early, and seized the means of production for the people before they were 0.00001% of what they are today. Think of where we'll be in another 100 years. There are technological changes coming which will evenly distribute the means of production evenly, without any need to fight or create social change. But what i'm looking for in general, as an answer from you, is what you'd like to see happen here and now to solve this surplus man hours issue?

Here and now? Workers need to stand up for themselves.

And no, technology will never bring leisure time to the masses under capitalism, because capitalism depends on keeping the mass of people hungry and thirsty, innit!
