Two years ago you said there was "little peyote use outside NAC regions", today you're claiming every teenager and his brother were shipping box's up from Texas in "huge quantities" or buying them openly on the lower east side.

Are you sure there was such a massive mescaline scene in the 1960s? The cactus scene has never really taken off even today when you can buy cactus online - it causes such nausea it's never going to become that popular. What kind of disposable income did teenagers have in the 60s? Did they really have enough cash to order massive box's of peyote buttons to their parents house and pay by a cheque on their own bank account? You don't think the vast majority of them would have simply stuck with pot instead of sending money off to strange men living in hovels in Texas advertising peyote in the back of Penthouse?

He said there was little peyote use outside NAC regions in the 70s and 80s, which happened to be after LSD started to become much more prolific and regulated (and I believe mescaline became regulated in those decades). He wasn't referring to the 60s, and if Solipsis can get lab-verified synthetic mescaline, I don't think it's unbelievable that well-connected circles in the 60's can get it.

But in his post yesterday he said "peyote was widely available for the right people well into the 70s".

Well we know Huxley got it in the 50s.

You may as well just say "well-connected circles" could get it any any period over the last 40 years tho - that's just as meaningless isn't it. If you know a reliable chemist making it in his own lab then there won't be a problem getting mescaline whether it's the 60s, 70s or 80s.
 
Incidentally before we get too carried away with talk of James Bond style "Well-connected circles", does the OP of this thread actually claim to be a member of one of these mysterious circles?

Or did he just buy it off a commom dealer?
 
That is definitely a very relevant question, haha. Of course, the answer can only be taken with a grain of salt, as many people tend to tout themselves as "well-connected" despite the opposite.
 
I'm certainly not a member of any "well-connected circles" unfortunately. I either have to grow it or extract it on my lonesome.

I have asked sockpuppet if I can be his friend tho :)
 
What a very, very weird drug. Took 350mg and ended up feeling so alienated, pretty much the worst set + setting imaginable though. I'll probably give it another try in a decent mindset.
 
In what way was it wierd cz? Must've been a nice bodyhigh at least?

Yeah, the body high was nice. Happily danced my ass off for hours. It just felt really strange because it was blatantly obvious that 90% of the people I was around were on MDMA so i was on a totally different level. Ended up in my tent at the end of the night and the worst thing that happened was that I ended up thinking the mud up the side of my tent was these horrible looking spiders with oversized bodies but after I attacked a few of them with a towel ended up realising it was only mud and I had nothing to worry about. Couple of strangers made a couple of comments about me looking really spaced out but it was nothing negative and nothing to worry about. There was a fairly big police presence but they didn't care about pretty much everyone being `on something` and were there purely to prevent violence and catch people dealing so that was pretty strange.

I think next time I try it i'll dose high in a much better environment and do about 600-700mg.
 
Be careful! - everyone except me in this thread thinks 600-700mg is way too high lol! I've taken a gram plus and had a great time but see what you think to a higher dose.

I think 500-750mgs is perfect for an always atleast medium ground trip if not a higher one. Anything passing one gram gets pretty excessively wacky. Low dose mescaline on its own just isn't enough for me usually(100-300mgs), its perfectly fun and acceptable but theres just something sexually palpable about mescaline in the higher ranges. Also so you know, mescaline is one weird chemical all around, I found it weirder than any substance i've ever taken at high doses, theres, just so much going on.....

There was defiantly something unique about it compared to anything else I've tried. I think it was the fact that it put me in a really good mood and was grinning from ear to ear and dancing which isn't something i've come across previously on psy's.
