Always had an ambition to try DOM one day, it's such a legend :)

Me too. In fact I've searched for a t-shirt with that design many times. :D

DOC's meant to be more lush according to many though. I can believe it too. Gorgeous, clean-feeling stimulant high with visuals creeping in but little headfuck. It was weird, because about an hour after taking it I felt an uncontrollable urge to sleep, dozed off and then woke up feeling really wired.

@ Arnold: that's kinda why I really think I'm better off with a dealer tbh. I don't mind paying a fee ... that's no issue. it's the kind of thing dealers have a queue for really. taking into consideration ebays fees normally amount to 20% ish incl paypal.

If I find a dealer with a waiting list it might just mean I get a better price. not all serious collectors look at ebay
Cynic me says doubtful, or the dealer will say I will keep the book and wait till it gets sold before paying you or he will offer you below e-bay price saying that's the going rate and I need to add my 10% or what ever on top. Then puts it on for sale at like 10k.
/cynic..
could be wrong

I was about to say that some book dealers want to charge the earth for a book that has gone out of print or what ever and put them on amazon, your book is listed there at 10k lol. No idiot will ever buy that...better off on ebay it will sell at least :)

I'm loving the £9,997.20 vs RRP @ £29.99 tho ... made me lol tons.

I've bought tons of books via Abe Books, they're my fave place to find bargain books.

Is this how much someone paid for vol 1 on its own? (eh, looks like it's for sale for that price, not sold)

seems the individual diaries are about £300 quid each but the set is worth more. hopefully anyways

If there is anyone who isn't going to give you a fair price, it's dealers. They don't get rich making tiny raises, they get rich by finding the mugs who have gold and giving them brass money for it!

The book dealer my brother knows makes his money from buying job lots at auction, mainly from house clearances. He only needs to find a couple of decent ones in every few boxes to make a profit, apparently.

I doubt many dealers would bid a high price on Ebay, its more likely to be a collector trying to side step the dealers, a decent reserve protects you from loosing out too much but you would be wise to get a valuation or 2 since it is so rare.

Sold my Grandma's car on Ebay today, bit sad really she's not well and won't drive it again, she was a menace in it though, she wouldn't go round roundabout and I don't think that car has seen more than 25 MPH in the last 8 years:)

^ word @ MSB

I buy books on a certain topic as an investment with the knowledge that in 10-20 years time they will go out of print and end up a collectors item commanding a higher price. That £50, brand new book, turns in to £200 in less than 10 years easily and fairly. In 20 years time even higher.
No idea who will benefit from it though as I'm reluctant to sell them =D.

If you want a better price wait for a few years and keep it in it's wrapper if possible if you're wondering why I mention this since your book has only been released in 2008-9? which is yesterday in book terms.

I've heard this is a rather good way to launder money too. At least so Howard Marks says ;) I almost got hit by an elderly driver the other day. There is something extra scary about the ones who really shouldn't be on the road. I've heard that they can't see over their shoulders very well, and that's why they go so slow and stay in the slow lane on motorways.

Last night was wild, was hoping for a few quiet drinks up town and it turned into carnage, valium, booze, 6-apb, ket, ended up back at some house party n there was a few prostitues there, spilt a can of lager over my mates laptop as well.... fuck sake. hardly any sleep, eyes are still wobby n i need to drag myself out again to a rave

I think I understand now. Did all 100 copies come with this? I'd read that as though they had been added but I appear to be wrong.
I think they were released as single volumes ... first one, then two, and then a special edition of the two together with a third volume that contains the signatures of the pilots or something. It was limited to 100 I think. I can't find a proper ISBN for the 3 vol edition. My sis has 1 of the 100, 3 volume sets.

half the geezers have died who signed the special 3rd volume that made up the 3 vol set too. so it will never be reproduced

My mate's just clocked this at the entrance to his block of flats hahaha.

He's just got home & stuck up a reply to this lol

It says

"To the owner of space 95

It would appear you weren't 'smart enough' to store your belongings in your flat & not a parking space.

Lesson learned. Enjoy getting wet."

=D

Edit - better photo
