Misc Alcohol - Reducing alcoholic drinks into less liquid

Ok I got it lol:

Untitled.jpg

L-lysine-ethanol will possibly be processed into L-lysine and ethanol in the liver. L-Lysine-Ethanol is simply obtained by esterification of L-Lysine with ethanol under reflux for 2 hours at 90C. The result should be a white powder after precipitating with HCl and cooling to 0C.

This is molar mass 174g/mol compared to ethanol which is 46g/mol so assuming you get drunk with 120g of pure ethanol, you would have to eat:

174/46 x 120g = 453g (1 pound)

You would have to eat 1 pound of the drug in order to feel the effects, assuming that your liver doesn't blow up from the amino acid haha!

But still, it would be alcohol powder that you can directly eat rofl. Answers the question.

The practical answer is no, you cannot reduce the amount of ethanol you need to consume to get drunk.

Switch to 2-methyl-2-butanol or something if consuming >20ml of liquid is too much for you.

Sodium tetraethoxyborate is going to be one mother of a strong base, by the way. I wouldn't want to eat it.

Another idea is to form chelated magnesium which can hold up to 4 ethanol molecules per magnesium ion. It will be powder as well.

you can't make alcohol powder, the ethyl alcohol molecule is to small and instable to create a solid form.

Wait so you could take say 12 shots of regular 80 proof alcohol, put it in a jar, plopp in a icecube and place it in a freezer, which will cause the ice crystallizing matrix from the cube to expand by continueing to freeze the water while pushing out the alcohol, thus leaving you with a higher percentage of alcohol in the liquid? Then you just fish out the clump of ice, and the remaining liquid is a higher alcohol percent? Would you need a colder freezer for this or does it work because once their is an icecube introduced, then it is possible for it to expand.(as alcohol otherwise doesn't freeze)

I've totally ingested pure (well, 95%) ethanol before without a problem (minus extreme burning and the extreme desire to vomit afterwords).

Seriously, you guys have never taken shots of Everclear before?
I have. I drank a massive amount of everclear because I was depressed. It nearly killed me. Felt great at first, the I ran to the bathroom, filled the bath tube with barf(I was aiming for the toilet), fell into the bathtub full of barf, blacked out(I'm not prone to blackouts) and woke up still very shitfaced. I was still drunk for 2 days afterwards, got pneumonia from inhaling throw-up, and had a hangover for a week. I probably exceeded the lethal dose for most and probably should've gone to the hospital.Probably killed a lot of brain cells. Couldn't stand the taste of alcohol for months and would get sick from the smell of cheap perfume.

I can't see how anyone could drink it neat. I burns like a motherfucker. You could run your car on it, or strip paint off the walls. It's meant for mixed drinks like jungle juice.

Nothing compared to ether. Drinking pure ether is much less enjoyable but the effects are more...special.
God, ether is some crazy shit. The movie "Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas' doesn't convey the real madness of ether. It's better than say glue but not as good as N2O. It takes a couple minutes to peak, last like 20 minutes with residual effect for hours.. I accidentally inhaled too much, said ,"Oh Fuck!" and sat down. Reality end, got stuck in a loop for what seemed like an eternity. Not the worst inhalant, safer then most but hard on the lungs. And it makes the house smell like a drug lab. I can't see how Hunter S. Thompson could handle ether but not PCP.

There is ethyl carbamate, similar to Miltown or Soma. I would not touch it. It was used as a sedative/anesthetic till it was discovered to be a potent carcinogen.

that movie is fucking awesome.

That's right, alcohol doesn't freeze in a normal household freezer, as it has a much lower freezing point than water, but the water in the beverage can. The ice cube would give the water something to crystallize on, then you could remove the frozen water from the liquid. I haven't tried this myself, but in theory it sounds like it would work.

Freeze purification of ethanol doesn't work like it "should", eventually it becomes a homogenous alcohol-water slurry that is very hard to seperate. I would not expect improvement of more than 10%.

Also, the powder you're looking for may as well just be a barbiturate.
