Poppy Seed Tea

I know there are a bajillion threads around here that have SOMETHING to do with poppy seed tea, but none answering MY question.

I heard one could re-wash the seeds after the first use & still get high if the seeds are of decent quality. I use these huge containers at this small supermarket that definitely work, but I usually just threw out everything after.

So, I made some tea a few days ago & got chocolate wasted (eventually, took a long time to kick in). I saved the seeds, & possible mold be damned, I agitated another batch.

Tasted the same vile taste.

But basically, this: am I an idiot? Or is there a possible high later out of this?

don't let the seeds sit for very long. I've done a rewash like 12 hours later and it is incredibly disgusting. I wash my seeds 4 times with like 2 cups of water each time. The other day i decided to just drink the 3th and 4th wash together and i got a pretty good buzz, not as strong as the 1st and/or 2nd wash but enough to justify washing them.

Ok, but what about drained (mostly) seeds that have been sitting for a couple days? All I did was add water & shake the crap out of it a few times in 5 minutes before drinking. (That's my usual method anyway..)

^yeah that is when they get gross, they get moldy fast even after being drained. Do all your washes at once and store them in the fridge but not for longer than 10-12 hours. I find if you leave the seeds sitting after a wash, even if the water is drained, they will still balloon up from soaking up the leftover water and will most likely absorb any morphine/codeine that was there, making the seeds useless. They also start to smell terrible like garbage juice.

yep, the faster you do it, the better.

my method is to do the first wash in grapefruit juice. stir like crazy for 5-10 seconds, then pour into a wire strainer, draining into another bowl.
i then tip the seeds back into the first bowl, pour in some cold water (enough to cover the seeds), stir and strain again.

i repeat this once more (so 1 grapefruit juice wash and 2 water washes) and mix them all together. i usually get two doses out of this.
you dont get the rotten tasting hydrated seeds, and they don't soak up your goodies or release oil into your tea.

be safe, and enjoy!

^ When you wash the same seeds multiple times with the same water you make it more potent. Remember, the goodies are on the outside, so shake it like hell to get that stuff off there. Also, seeds are designed to soak up goodies, so there's a fine line between not washing long enough and letting the seeds soak back up the water with the goodies. I used to shake it like hell for like 5-6 minutes with decent results. But I only did it when I ran out of pods, so I don't have that much experience.

definitely leave those old ones alone. mold can send you to the ER.

Really?? Ingesting mold on foods/beverages can send you to the ER? It's not a great idea, and I wouldn't advise doing it knowingly, but it's rarely very dangerous unless done often. The most common adverse effect of eating mold is nausea. Though there is a wide variety of molds that can grow on food; most are harmless. The problem is that it is extremely difficult for the average person to distinguish between the harmless types and the types that are hazardous to one's health, so it's best not to eat/drink something that has visible mold on/in it, or that tastes moldy. Most types of mold are benign and will produce little to no reaction, while some can be dangerous, particularly if inhaled for long periods of time. Most commonly, ingestion of mold will cause no reaction or a temporary reaction that does not last much longer than the exposure to the mold and involves symptoms such as nausea, or in worse cases/larger amounts diarrhea or vomiting. Though consuming moldy food once can cause an upset stomach, it is unlikely to do any long-term harm. However, consuming moldy food frequently is considered hazardous to a person's health and can be carcinogenic.

Not saying it's a good idea to leave your poppy seeds sitting wet for long periods of time, and this can be easily avoided in future, but I just thought it was reactionary and alarmist to say that consuming a bit of mold will land you in the ER.

I find that the first wash of good sticky seeds from a bulk store ends me with some nice bitter ass shit. The second wash is slightly bitter, and the third is pretty fucking pointless.

I do the first wash, chug it, wash again and chug the second one immediately lol. I ain't doing washes after that shits been sitting for some odd hours, it turns fucking NASTYY lol. I through out a big garbage bag of like 50 bottles filled with seeds yesterday, cause I was just chucking the bottles in my closet and then releasing the air every few days so they didn't fucking explode that smell got nasty everytime i'd "gas" the bottles lol.

1) can I get "good" seeds at wallmart or sams club ? ( I would think sams club because its a "bulk" store.

2) how much seeds do I use for a high comparable to 50mg roxi

3) How much does a bag of seeds cost ? ( I know no price discussion but . . . )

4) Is the high even worth the effort ?

LoL... Honestly, it tasted the same, but with no high. Not...moldy...

I will try re-washing though.. Sounds like it'll make it more potent.

Oh in case it wasn't clear, I was incredulous about the idea that someone said this could send you to the ER, when I said "Really?? Ingesting mold on food/beverages?" that's what I was referring to :)
It's really not that dangerous, especially if your seeds/tea didn't even taste moldy. But yeah, it's probably easier/best to just do the re-washing right away.

The Dope Man:

1) Sorry, no source discussion. But no those are probably not good sources.

2) It's very hard to compare, as the effects aren't exactly the same and the potency varies SO much between seed batches/sources. Just start with a reasonable amount and gradually drink more if it isn't enough.

3) As you said, no price discussion. Go to the store and find out the price.

4) Totally depends on the person.

how come we can't discuss sources for something that you can buy at the grocery store i don't get it...

If you don't have a sensitive stomache i would suggest simply eating the seeds they taste awesome and have good nutritional value.

As far as matching 40mg of oxy with seeds i think its totally possible i have a great tolerance (5-6 80's at a time) and i can still get my rocks off eating poppy seeds in sufficient quantities.

If you read the guidelines it says:

1) NO SOURCES
This is extremely important. We do not allow posts discussing sources for ANY substance, legal or illegal. We also don’t allow links to most drug paraphernalia. The only exceptions to this rule are harm reduction supplies, like bacteriostatic water, micron filters, etc.

I assume there are 3 reasons for this. One we don't want to appear to be encouraging or enabling people to obtain drugs or to do anything illegal or even quasi-legal. Even if poppy seeds are legal to buy/sell, in some places it is not exactly legal to extract the opium from them. Another likely reason is that Bluelight wants to remain completely neutral and not be seen to endorse any products, stores or suppliers. Notice that there is no advertising on Bluelight. And I think the third reason is that if sources for legal things are allowed, where do we draw the line? Legal in what country? (Bluelight users are all over the world and different places have different laws). And what about things like research chemicals, do we start allowing people to post links to sites which sell research chemicals? (some of which are legal in some places when not used for human consumption). It is much easier to disallow all source discussion, no matter what substance it is for.

I agree completely. While it would sometimes be nice to share which online vendor has better prices for legal things, it would be a slippery slope. Allowing discussion of sources would bring in shills too, posting about this awesome site, that happens to be theirs.

It's for sure for the best that NO sourcing is allowed.
