meh, just watching an ep of Touch before bed (shitey new yank tv with keifer sutherland), to try to get the sight of blood splatters and testosterone fueled violent nonsense out of my head..

...t'was depressing stuff mainly (sorry MSB, I did give it a shot)
I don't mind violence (even spades of it) when it's fantasy shit like Romero, or if it's relevant or intrinsic to making a point in some way (see Cronenberg for best examples of that) ... but Goon doesn't sit in that category for me. Had to look away a few times. brawn wankathons don't do it for me
from the subject matter of the movie, I'd of been more interested in an exploration of the Queubec 'faggot' type teams (ie: proper hockey) vs goonsquads or whatever ...
[edit] I don't like sports movies much either (like shammy) ... any given sunday was alright ... but altho I end up liking a lot of his movies, Oliver Stone flicks tend to try to beat you into submission with a bat to the head in a bid to get you to agree with him
NBK poss makes my top 20 flicks list tho ... even though he totally changed the tarantino script and made it something completely different
[edit] sports movie theme aside, I'd be extremely surprised if Shambles doesn't loathe this, incl the last scene complete with tacky Opera to boot
