Just had a call from my GP, top bloke. The stupid fekers at the hospital filled out the "Fit fro Work note" as not fit for work despite a lengthy discussion that I could work from home, it was obviously filled out at the last minute as its not even properly complete.

I've recently changed jobs and they could switch me to statutory sick pay if they wanted to and that won't pay the bills, as well as sitting about doing me no good and not a good start for my new job.

My Doctor has just written me a new note overriding the Hospital one saying I'm fit to work on a computer working from home, which is exactly what I wanted and I'm pretty sure it will mean there will be no risk of not getting full pay as they won;t let me into the office due to my current mobility problems.

He also planned out a reduction plan for the Morphine but has written me up a new script on the level I'm taking at the moment (50mgs a day) I'm not keen on the stuff TBH but its good for pain, the NHS need to clone this bloke, he's solid gold. I gave in today and watched an episode of Jeremy Vile so things are on the slide:D

The side effects of opiates are enough to make me not want to use them regularly.
By "side effects", I mean in the intestines department. Not pleasant.

EDIT: Although... I say it's enough, but it still doesn't stop me.

Sorry to hear that mate :( stating the obvious etc, - look for another job, your a clever guy, but your situation must be alot more complicated than that,

Sorry to here that, any redundancy or just layed off ?

Do you work in particular field, anything you might be able to turn into self employment, I've come across a few people of late making a living pout of repairing game consoles and selling spares through Ebay. Money for old rope for me as I used to do military standard circuit board test and repair.

Not saying that would be for you but you might be able to find something to generate a bit of cash in the short term.

Good Luck.

Freelance / make money online.

Yeah good luck Cornishman, it's shit being out of work mate, try and keep your chin up mate!

Thanks everyone. Twas my own fault I lost my job.
Ended up getting a PPI refund and blowing it on coke/missing shifts/turning up wired, etc.

Almost got me clean off the meth tho. If given enough quality cocaine I could easily withdraw off any amount of opiates cold turkey.
It's a wonder drug imo.

Anyway, I'd like to go back into a detox/rehab 6wk programme. Get clean from methadone and put opiates behind me for good.

I know full well I can do it. I want to do it! So might aswell do it while I got the time.

If it aint an option I'll just have to look for another boring job 'cause I have no expertise.

Maybe expertise is whats I needs.....

Access* courses are worth checking out Cornish. Usually they're just a year and the course equips you to go on to Higher Education whether to do something academic like a degree or a professional course.

Your local college will have all the details but they'll be closing for Summer soon so get in there sharpish if I were you.

* They only enrol mature students so its not like you'd be sitting in a classroom with a load of 17 year olds.

I would do anything to have a job that interests me.

Does such a thing exist? Soon as something becomes a job it becomes tedious I reckon, it would probably ruin any interest you had in it if you had to do it for work.

Depends, if a job is also a hobby etc than i guess it wont be tedious, depends on the level of tolerance to repetitive routine, unless the job is different every day or whatever

Sounds like your in quite a predicament, bad times

Access courses are very good - I'd recommend. Though my college didn't limit to mature students only. Im not sure this is the general case.

argh what to do tonight.. overspent, been ill for half the day and could do with a quiet one after last weekend. been on the booze, feeling alright but swear my motivation didnt used to be like this a few years ago, dunno if its with age, or a lack of stims, boredom of going out in the same area, or what the fuck. bita meph n id be flying out the door. motivation of a stoned sloth. couldnt stay away from partys n raves awhile ago, now what the fuck

Sorry to hear about yer job Cornish, shit one these days especially :(

I love the idea of coke as ideal drug to use to get over opiates :)

Anyway, try RoyalMail, put letters through holes for a living.

Exercise and a K or MXE afterglow. could be a winner. although cant imagine getting off a daily habit of drugs,

I find exercise to be way more addictive and endorphine producing than most drugs. I still enjoy my drugs, but exercise feels strong enough to get me through the week for some reason.

Same, such a buzzing rewarding feeling afterwards, need to get back on it =D

Saw you posted up a decent fitness plan in the gym thread, sounds like you've got it all sussed, spot on

I found MXE excellent for taking my mind off of the torment that can be Tramadol withdrawal... just bought the serial killer out in me though.

At least If I get banged up in Holloway, the next time I come off them, I can get proper smack.

coke to get off opiates, speed to get off the coke, acid to get off the speed, opiates to get off the speed. In a rotation.. its healthier that way.

That's ridiculous tbh are you actually being serious? The only drug I can say killed my coke fiending was ketamine, which gets pretty fiendy itself. I suppose valium helped kill the mephedrone insanity a bit too, other than that subsituting one drug for another is awful advice.

Exercise to get off of everything = win!

Agree with this in that it puts me right off midweek planned stim binges and such like I used to do with coke/meph/speed/pv etc. But it does get to a point where you get to feeling that good you just have to go out and get on it. At the moment I'm attempting no drugs til august, just eat loads and gym, the odd drink where unavoidable.

Exercise and a K or MXE afterglow

The afterglow off K I actually find helps with exercise. I read that pcp makes the user 6x stronger than they normally are when on it. First time I ever benched 60kg I was still on the K afterglow. I honestly think dissociatives (K especially) helps build muscle quicker, I have no source for this other than my own findings. Probably just more motivation than usual from the postive mindset I'd guess.
