I don't know why they'd let them leave after they burned the castle. Also when Osha and the boys left, there wasn't anyone there besides the maester. Why didn't the Stark troops fortify it. I'd assume they would after its been taken once already.

The episode was good, but wasn't to exciting. Also its weird whats going on with the dragons. They never got captured in the books, not did the 13 get killed. I guess they just want to make her part still exciting for tv.

i really want more jamie action! we're getting to the part of his big transformation as a character, and i can't wait to see more of it! i am totally happy with the actress playing brienne and the actor playing jamie. LOOK AT HIS FACE. LOOK AT HIS FACE. My favourite scene of the whole finale.

I had a Theon Greyjoy freak out today because there was this beeping outside that i couldn't figure out/stop and definitely threatened to rape whoever was in charge of the beeping in front of the seven and then eat them or whatever he says.

a total of 5.1 million people (not counting illegal watchers ) watched it last night. that's a lot of people playing throne game drinking games all at once.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I am LOVING the series. I was hoping for more episodes this season, and I thought they would have to with book 2 being bigger. The peasants revolting introduced the one chick who got raped by like 10 guys and got preggers, and she's in the castle in several scenes of the book afterward. Maybe they didn't want to make it too graphic.

I'm really just a book snob, but overall the series is fantastic. I'm just one of those people who wants to see it ALL in the movie too. Don't mind me. I'm just a huge fan of the books, and I want to see it all on the big screen.

Tyrion is freaking badass. He was badass in the books, though, and he's still my favorite 5 books later.

I'm gonna be bummed when it's over, but then there is true blood to keep me company on Sunday nights. :D

Yes, I had a few GOT dreams while I was in the thick of reading the series, though I can't really remember anything about them other than that they were definitely *not* sex dreams. I have to be really, really into a book to dream about it; I think it's happened only once or twice before.

In this episodes conversation between Tyrion and Cersei, when they are discussing Joffrey's difficulties, I was surprised that Tyrion didn't strongly imply or outright state that everyone would be better off if Tommen was king. That would give Cersei more reason to accuse him after the events of book #3.

Oh, and agreed on Ygritte. She's an entertaining character. Give her more screen time and less to Robb & whats-her-name.

Jamie was also excellent this episode.

Sooooo...... What did everyone think about Catelyn Stark releasing the Kingslayer in return for her daughters???? Is it: Honorable via taking the moral high ground??? or Is it treason as it went against the King's (of the North) wishes and weekend their position.

I'm going with the latter. Also, Catelyn thinks she is getting both her daughters when actually Arya is elsewhere. [Edit} She's on her way out of Harrenhal.

Robb has every reason to be pissed. Jaime was an asset. Sansa and Arya are good as lost. And the whole point that the guy next to Robb was like "I lost my son, don't you think I'm pissed too? VENGENANCE!!! Grrr." Catelyn really showed her weakness (not that you can blame her), but yeah ...this will be the North's undoing.

this episode was okay, it was a 'bridge' episode to set up the season finale. can you believe it's fucking season finale time so soon?

i liked brienne and jamie, they are going to be so much fun later.

we went to one of our friend's shows a couple days ago, and they (cello, violin, drums) covered the game of thrones theme song and everyone in the crowd went bat shit crazy. it was fucking awesome.

Kind of a boring episode but to be expected i suppose after last time. 2 minutes of Khaleesi time was a downer. Was expecting some dragons to start fucking shit up this season but get the feeling i might have to wait a few years for that.(no spoilers please Book nerds)

Not impressed with Momma Stark at all and was really hoping the Wildlings would murder the face off John Snow. Hate that guy.

and my god Sansa and Sandor Clegane! I am soooo glad that their scene wasn't erased or skipped over or anything. One of those reasons in the book that made me really really dislike Sansa. Why wouldn't you go with The Hound? He's saved your life, he's protected you from your douche bag intended, and he's never been cruel to you. He's offering you a chance, a great chance to escape. He would bring you to Winterfell. Ugh fucking Sansa. Now I'm irritated all over again. I have to give it to the TV show though. I never would have thought I'd end up cheering for Sansa, ever, but I am. I enjoy the show Sansa way more than book Sansa/Alayne.

Season finale was kinda sucky, IMO.

I'm not sure what they are trying to accomplish with the Qarth storyline, to be honest. And I have no clue where the hell Sam is now. Halfhand and Jon's interactions and the motivation behind them seems not to be as clear as in the books. I don't know what the hell happened at Winterfell. And in regards to Robb...

I may be looking forward to the Red Wedding just to end all this foolishness.

I understand that in adapting a series to the screen, storylines will have to be simplified. Characters will have to be removed or merged. Details will have to be left out. Locations may be merged to decrease set costs.

But there's stuff they are adding (Robb and whats-her-name), Dany and the dragon abduction, etc, just fills up screen time without really contributing to character development or the overall plot.

Yeah, that's what I was saying before. You aren't getting the commentary that he adds from the character's POV...what they are feeling, thinking, etc. No explanation as to why Jon killed the halfhand, the dragon scene was totally made up (wasn't it?) and I kinda felt cheated. All I have to say is read the books guys!

OH YEAH AND WTF????? The Winterfell thing was totally off. I'm kinda pissed. The bastard bolton played Reek, and they totally skipped that part. I don't know WTF they are going to do, because the bastard bolton helping take back winterfell plays a huge part in the 5th book.

/cry. I replied and it got lost...let's try again and since it's been a day and the series is over, I can tell you what happens in the books.

The Bastard Bolton has a friend given to him by his father and he calls him Reek. Reek is a necrophiliac and rapes women. Somehow (forget how) Reek dies and the bastard takes on Reek's persona and is captured by Theon. Somehow (forget those dynamics too), Reek/Bastard becomes friends with Theon and he becomes trusted. In the night, he opens the gates to allow the Northmen into the city. The bastard is given honors and he is given Theon as his "prize." This plays out a lot in book 5, which is why I don't understand WTF they are going to do for that book. That part plays out a lot in book 5.

Finale was okay but I wasn't ready for it theres so much going on they shouldve made a few more shows. Hope I don't have to wait until ep10 of season 3 to see some dragons again. Not holding out much hope for Sam either! At one point in the Tyrion/Shae scene I thought they had replaced Peter Dinklage with William H. Macy, the resemblance was uncanny.

Fantastic to see young Irish actor Jack Gleeson(Joffrey) play the absolute shithead to perfection and piss off so many people worldwide! Quite brilliant acting and accent too.

I think it has something to do with of course the next winter, and winter is coming. Remember when old nan is telling Bran about fear, "Oh, my sweet summer child, what do you know of fear? Fear is for the winter, my little lord, when the snows fall a hundred feet deep and ice coms howling out of the north..." she continues "...kings shivered and died in their castles...", "...The others came for the first time...", "...they swept over holdfasts and cities and kingdoms..." So I personally don't believe that scene ment fuck all and was some sort of premonition to the dark days that follow

Jon is starting to be like Anakin skywalker. I'm not sure if he is gonna use his position to infiltrate the king of the north's army, or actually is going to be taken to the darkside.

I'm also curious as to why Tyrions father, Tywin isn't standing up for Tyrion and the good job he did protecting the castle. Yeah, Tywin was cruicial in winning the battle, but if it wasn't for Tyrion the battle would have been lost before Tywin would have even Arrived. It clearly looked like Tywin was gaining a lot of faith in Tyrion, so I'd be surprised with a large change of heart in him.

But why would Tywin have a change of heart when not to long ago he gave Tyrion the power of the hand of the king in his stead. I know that there is some resentment, but you'd think with all the work the Tyrion did, and the trust that he had gained with Tywin that Tywin wouldn't automatically go back to his negative veiw of tyrion once he's in the Castle. That is my question. I know that Cersie doesn't like Tyrion (obviously), especially with the plot to kill him. Even though Tywin doesn't view Tyrion nesscerially the same as his other children, he does acknowledge that Cersie and Joffery are acting a fool. He also see Tyrion as his son, and even said so, which is why he gave him the power of the hand of the king in the first place. You'd think that when Tywin is in the Castle after the battle he would acknowledge Tyrion for all the work he had done. It wasn't like Tyrion was in the shadows, I mean he got the army that was at the Castle to rally up behind him. This isn't something that is just going to remain quiet even if Tywin did come in to seal the day.
