Cersei was channeling Magda Goebbels
Stannis getting dragged away from King's Landing by his own men in despair was a great, human touch utterly lacking in the book's Stannis
^lol
Fucking great episode.
Cersei is such a fool and Joffrey is a coward which isn't new really just thought I'd point out the obvious.
I really liked that scene between the Hound and Sansa. "The world is built by killers." Very cool.
NSFW:Was it a member of the Kingsguard that attacked Tyrion towards the end there? Why the sudden betrayal? Is his reasoning explained in the books?
Edit: Probably an order from Cersei. Kill my brother if the battle should turn against them type of deal. Or perhaps it was a matter of vengeance because of him sending her daughter to Dorne.
Those were his, all right; Lannister helmets are hideous and unmistakable, while Stannis's army has simple metal bowl-type helmets.
Re Freddy:
Ah, but Belisarius's problem was that he got *too* recognized. It didn't pay to be a popular commander around any Roman emperor. [/end history geek]
Episode spoiler:NSFW:Yes, it was a Kingsguard member that tried to kill Tyrion.
Book spoiler:NSFW:In the books, Tyrion seems to think it's Cersei. Presumably it was Cersei or Joffrey who was able to command a Kingsguard to attack Tyrion. Joffrey doesn't seem to have the self control needed to formulate a plan, so I'm guessing Tyrion's plans are right. But hell, maybe it was Littlefinger or Varys who ordered it for their own devious plans.
NSFW:Actually, very good chance it was Lysa Arryn. Unlike Joffrey with the Valyrian steel comment, nobody really gives anything away regarding how Mandon Moore came to attack Tyrion. Mandon Moore is from the Vale.
