"there's nothing wrong with a healthy dose of paranoia"

- my dad

I was thinking of getting it tattooed, but figured it would come off as me either saying that I, myself am the reason to be paranoid because i'm such a badass

or

that I'm paranoid like a crackhead and scared of everything

in actuality what it means is that my dad leads a paranoid life he used to work for the government basically trying to predict biological attacks on america and what measures would be taken to ensure hospitilization if such were to happen (ex - using schools as temporary hospitals, cuz we're talking BIG scale attacks here)

and me being paranoid in the sense that I always have my eyes open and stay on my toes as a result of being into drugs and dealing with shitty people, some of which I want to make sure I don't see again

"I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I intended to be."
~Douglas Adams

“A well-known speaker started off his
seminar holding up a $20.00 bill. In the
room of 200, he asked, “Who would like this
$20 bill?” Hands started going up. He said,
“I am going to give this $20 to one of you
but first, let me do this.” He proceeded to
crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then
asked, “Who still wants it…?” Still the
hands were up in the air. “Well,” he replied,
“What if I do this?” And he dropped it on
the ground and started to grind it into the
floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now
crumpled and dirty. “Now, who still wants
it?” Still the hands went into the air. “My
friends, we have all learned a very valuable
lesson. No matter what I did to the money,
you still wanted it because it did not
decrease in value. It was still worth $20.
Many times in our lives, we are dropped,
crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the
decisions we make and the circumstances
that come our way. We may feel as though
we are worthless. But no matter what has
happened or what will happen, you will
never lose your value. Dirty or clean,
crumpled or finely creased, you are still
priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The
worth of our lives comes not in what we do
or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE. You
are special-Don’t EVER forget it.” If you do
not pass this on, you may never know the
lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks
to, or the hope that it may bring. Count
your blessings, not your problems ”
— Ryan Arnall

All right, just a moment.
That they always take the rope away from me
and cut it.
Lately I've been so prepared,
and there was already a little bit of eternity
in my guts.

Hold me the spoon here,
this spoon-fed life.
No, I want to and I don't want to anymore,
let me give in, throw up.

I know that life is whole and good,
and that the world is like a full dish,
but for me it doesn't get into my blood,
it just goes straight up to my head.

For others it's nourishment, me it just makes sick;
Understand, that one can despise it.
For at least a thousand years
I'll have to fast.

- Rainer Maria Rilke
