The pro-drugs lobby never sleeps. Can we trust wobbly Dave to silence fresh demands for legalisation?

You might think that with a Conservative-led government there would be no prospect of decriminalising drugs, let alone of legalising them. Well think again. Crazy as this idea might seem, it is not off the agenda. The obsessive pro-drugs lobbies have not given up.

In fact, backed by the coffers of the cannabis 'toking' Sir Richard Branson and the multi billionaire George Soros, they have been making some headway.

Last year their latest drugs-legalising public relations offensive, fronted by the important sounding but self styled ‘Global Commission on Drug Policy’, succeeded in its first objective. This body’s report and its massively exaggerated claims of spiraling drug use captured the headlines. So too did the thesis that the ‘war on drugs’ has failed, and that, therefore, drugs must be decriminalised if not legalised. The Commission advocates surrender rather than stepping up the fight.

Today Russell Brand’s ‘evidence’ was sought too. He argued that his previous arrests for drugs possession had wasted police time. He thought that the mitigating circumstance of his addiction ‘illness’ should put him and other drug users above the law.

So far Keith Vaz appears to be holding the line. He is on record as saying the case for decriminalisation has not yet been made. He assured me that they had not been influenced by pro decriminalisation drug lobbies.
It is sad that his instinct was not strong enough to stop him setting out on this crazy and extravagant inquiry into the ‘merits’ of decriminalisation in the first place.

If i was ever given the option to press a button and have ever stupid jack ass ignorant fool like all those posters just die, I think I would have to press it. How much longer can sane people put up with the insane running the show lol. How people can just totally ignore science and what should be common sense, it amazes me how irrational so many people are.

Yeah I'm sick to death of assholes who have no idea what they're talking about chiming in with their hypocritical middle class bullshit moralism, as if they know the slightest thing about drug use or drug addiction that hasn't been shoved down their throat by the media or the government.

If I were him I would also call for evidence from the civil servants, past politicians and the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs. Given the drug laws, why hasn't been a massive crack down on domestic skunk production?

I would also call for evidence about skunk, gang membership, psychosis and knife crime. How much psychosis is going undetected and what we can do to track it? Does it parallel or is it worse than the tragic middle class cases of irreversible cannabis-induced psychosis that have come to light? What about drug use and mental health problems in young offenders’ institutions and the lack of proper help?

To try and justify the blatant hypocrisy of those who smoked weed as a teenager in the 60's/70's now trying to enforce the prohibitionist agenda.
