It's not much fun recreationally although that didn't stop me having a few goes on it. Common themes were winking / smiling / word-mouthing photos around the room and the strong, strong sensation that there were other people around, but only when you took your mind off them. So I'd focus on the laptop for a moment, think there were other people in the room, look up... ah, no people, look down, the impression of people being there returns, almost like a switch being flicked.
They're not actually benzos by the way, but the infinitely less catchy imidazopyridines, apparently. Imidazos? Immies? Subjectively I've always felt with benzos that my eyelids are getting heavier and heavier and that a warm sensation is spreading down from my head- with zolpidem it's more like something rising out of the body. This doesn't appear to make much sense but it's how it always felt to me.
