If youre trying to say you can work the same muscle groups every day and get the best gains that is flat out wrong. Just the act of exercising every day isnt bad though, as long as you switch muscle groups. Your muscles want some time to heal up before you just give em hell again. Also why stretching out before and after a workout is important (yet horribly ignored!)

Oh oh, I know about this, is this when the muscle gets too big for the sacs that contain it and cause cramps, pain and no gain, or have I no clue ?

I have never heard of muscle sacks... I believe you need exercise+ recovery time+protein to make muscles grow, the exercise damages the muscles, the protein feeds them, then the time repairs them - which leaves them bigger than before. If you exercise every day like a lumber jack your body will become optimised for that process, but you would get bigger than a lumber jack faster if you followed a proper regime of exercise, diet, and rest.

I am staying tuned to this thread. I want to be here for the day when RS69 gets his first chest wax and arsehole bleaching :D

This is not a subject I'm familiar with it's just I love my motorcycle racing.
I was watching moto gp the other day and the leader dropped to third not because of a problem with his bike but that he was suffering a condition called 'arm pump' and basically struggling to hang onto a 240 hp bike.

It was explained that 'arm pump' is when the muscle is getting to big for it's sac?

Not got a clue but it would explain why exercising the same muscle groups all the time would not be good.

mop, muscles dont get big if you work them everyday mate, you need rest time, which should be a minimum of a days rest, so not sure what your trying to say there, if it was getting to big it would not be due to working it to much, to much would prevent it from growing.

Fuck! that's where I've always gone wrong.

All these years I could have been big instead of nursing a walnut whip and my eyesight is fucked :)

Well I thought it was funny :)
Yea dee I understand that but once again dee the arm pump stuff would explain that wouldn't it?

Lol.

Hello hope alls well in mopheads land, nice to see you around, and in the healthy thread as well.

Are you going to be joining us all in some fitness. :D

That'll be the army, Mop. They generally just work you for endurance rather than gaining mass.

Honestly, proper rest (with proper nutrition inbetween) made me gain a silly amount of bulk before I split up with my ex-girlfriend, rediscovered heroin and speed and lost the lot.

Heroin and speed > bulk.

I had a read around and I think arm pump is a term used almost soley by bikers to describe any condition in the arms that affects your ability to hold onto the bike. This could be the ligaments being damaged, the sacs that cushion your major joints being damaged (your bursa I think they are called, or the tendons being weak. I don't think muscles are held in sacs though, and I have never heard of it as a limiting factor in muscle growth.

This site seems to be saying it is mostly a forearm problem:

Arm pump happens when a rider’s forearm muscles swell during periods of intense activity, which is why it usually occurs during races and not during practice. The swollen muscles constrict nerves and collapse blood vessels, which reduces blood flow and starves the muscles of blood.

Very confusing!

Cheers mate that makes sense :)

You could imagine what their elbows go through braking from 200mph to almost nothing into a hairpin then powering out the bend.

Like I said I know nothing on this subject so it's interesting to read :)

YAAAAAAAWN!!!!!

Dan when you last mentioned about the argument you had with those big guys about protein etc who did you ask......

Go and look up muscle recovery. Doing lots of weights or whatever Jblazingyourhousedown is saying he does everyday, essentially becomes cardio. If you want to actually get bigger its better to up the weight rather than do more reps each day. Then you need rest and the right food.

I'm not going to bother replying to most of your shit Jboy, how old are you? I thought you were older than me but concidering the keyboard warrior banter I'm having my doubts. Like the wee dafties on facebook you need to grow up.

Boom 1 person who knows what he's talking about! And for the record I have weighed up the chest wax but would be too painful I figured ;)

And so we have 2 people who actually know what they are talking about. Let me guess both of you have actually researched and maybe even set foot in a gym? Am I right? Shock horror..

Even more horrifying Sam seems to know better than some of the clouts on here, and he's not even really interested :D

I had to add a bit in edit because I missed a major discription of whatever this arm pump phenomenon is! It seems to be endurance related rather than mass related though. I'm sure we have some bikers on here somewhere who will know infinitely more than I ever will!

I contemplated a back sack and crack for a while, then I read a thread on another forum where some guy had had his crack waxed and apparently it just turns it into an itchy slip and slide LOL. My wife plucked my shoulders because she hates the fur, but it just comes back twice as bad and itches like a cunt for days.

Ah, as sam pointed out I know a little of endurance.

The army instructors used to either ran us til will were sick or give us circuit training til you get that high as a kite feeling.

Could do with a bit of that now my belly is not quite as flat as I would like :(
