theres bicep bodybuilders everywhere its called lifting for the beach. Nothing wrong with it really, any exercise is better than none. It just seems like those are the types of people who try to "inform" others on proper regimen and techniques when they dont know what theyre talking about. Im about to get back into lifting it will be interesting to see how my body responds to the first few days. I havent touched a weight in 6 months so Im not really sure what to expect.

Ok, so what's good for flexibility? I'm seizing up like a mofo from sedentary work, and squatting makes a sound like distant anti-aircraft fire.

Lol Samhain - that's justt CRRRRAAAAAZYYYY.

Mr BLunts - I am just trying to get people to see that they don't need to fit any ideal society is trying to make them see - they should just be themselves. And being a strong yourself is a very good plan. I wasn't trying to force my goals on anyone, or my diet - I was showing people that their diet was unhealthy.

Why may I ask is your ideal not how you are right now, but fit and healthy? WHy do you have to compare yourself to a film star??...unless you used to be that shape, and are trying to show us what you used to look like, in which case - nice one power on.

Parttime - just go to sleep bruv, you'll be safer there - no need to chip in with your riveting tales of how you couldn't back up anything you said.

To finish off - Codders - bruv if you actually listened to my advice instead of calling it guff, then maybe I would think you less of a fool - but you said you didn't even read it, which is fair enough - you just won't learn - so I'm pretty justified in calling you an ignorant scallywag. I don't really mind either way, just trying to help a brother out - Urbain was appreciative for the advice I gave him.

I am just against narcissistic tendencies in people's psyches - it's not healthy.

I don't particularly agree that RS69's diet is that bad really, and I can see where it could be better. We have people in this world advocating things like being vegan, the atkins diet etc. I don't see how going through periods of excess calories followed by periods of not enough calories is that bad for you - I actually think that evolutionary speaking we are designed to go through periods of excess and periods of starvation. Indeed periods of starvation activate a gene that leads to longevity. The main reason I don't follow the bulk/cut/bulk/cut routine is because i'd rather my body looked 8/10 all the time (not that it does), rather than 5/10 most of the time with the occasionally 10 day period where it is 10/10. I don't see people following this routine as trying to fit any ideals of society in particular, I think they just get a kick out of seeing just how 'good' in their eyes they can look.

We are probably coming at this from very different angles, given that I am reasonably narcissistic and you don't like that sort of thing. I don't mean this offensively but you seem like the type of person who gets a real kick out of eating nuts and berries and being lean, whereas I get a kick out of meeting an ideal that I have planned out in my head - whether i've got this from films or not I don't know. What I do know is is that the ideal I have in my head is healthier than 99% of society. Yours might be slightly healthier, but i'd sacrifice that benefit to tick that box for my ego.

As long as you take it slow and stretch before, and cool down properly afterwards you should be OK. Don't exhaust yourself - only go about 50 MAX 60% exhaustion.

Traditionally female dominated classes like Yoga or Pilates are brilliant for flexibility.

oh my bad I wasnt asking for advice really I know not to go all out the first week back into it I meant more im debating what weight to start off at for different shit. Like when I was at my strongest I could do 135 ten times (I weighed 140) on bench whereas now im hoping I can do 95 ten times, though I doubt I got that much weaker as I still lift and move shit for my work.

+1 on yoga. Never tried pilates but yoga is the best for flexibility IMO, and posture, and inner calm ofc.. <3

"Traditionally female dominated" is a good thing too, away from all the macho men arguing over bulking up ;) (still tempted to send this Steroid Discussion-wards.. haha)

I used to like going to body pump with my mum. It was just around the time when all the Eastern Europeans were coming over, and the class was full of hooooottttt polish and latvian women. O to be a perverted 16 year old again. The best part was the steam room afterwards... in the end I could stay in there indefinitely lol.

theres been a lot of sound advice given in this thread

I don't understand dirty bulking

me neither. pointless, unhealthy bollocks. theres some guys i know who told me protein is bullshit, that its all about the calories, so they just hammer mcdonalds and various other crap before and after the gym... no cardio either... the result is they're big and fucking bloated

best outcome on strength and fitness i had was high protein, enough carbs to keep me going, minimal sugar and fat

hetic busy day today at work, 8 hours of pulling steel out of racks, lifting the shit, on my feet all day and on my todd getting everything done, probably accounted to a fair gym workout in its own right. climbing up and down lorrys and racks n various crap

Rocky, whut's the fascination with bulking? I know to 'improve' aesthetically, i get that ... from what i see just walking around Tescos, most guys in my town just exercise their biceps to fuck (dis-proportioned to a ridiculous amount), wear a wife-beater to show em off, get a spray tan .. but you look past their arms and that tight t shirt, and the rest of them looks simply stupid as a whole.

why does bulk make you feel confident? what's wrong with being average or normal on the body side? can't see where bulk builds confidence [edit] I'm not saying it doesn't, but just wondering how you think it appeals to wimmenz .. since that seems to be what you're doing it for ... which again, i have no issue with, but don't really understand it

PLUS

the more you bulk, the smaller your cock looks in comparison, and I don't think you need any more hindrances in that department ;p

I don't need to bulk to feel confident lol I'm already a bit on the over confident side as it is. Just love the buzz and feeling from body building, getting bigger everytime you look in the mirror, just feeling like the absolute boy all the time. Love it. There will come a stage where I won't want to get any bigger but not til I'm at least 13.5 stone, maybe 14. I work out every muscle group over the course of a week so I'm not disproportionate, I know what you mean there I see alot of clowns in the gym working out the same muscle group every day, mainly upperbody, never working out their legs etc. You will definately end up looking daft doing that.

I'm not worried about the cock thing like, can afford to loose some size ;) I might actually upload a pic and send it to Jblazingcockhunter...

Listen to yourself saying your going to come up to Inverness, lol. I'm shaking mun, honest..

The reason I didn't listen to anything you've said was because it is utter tripe, much the same as the weed thread, much the same as your posts in the lounge. Anyone who thinks you can exercise all day everyday and just rest at night, while actually getting any worthwhile gains, is wrong. Yes you can do cardio everyday and reap the rewards, not weight training though.....

Fixed.

Rockstar, your gym talk just sets off my 'dar. It's like 1930s homoerotic fiction. :D

Which is not to imply you're actually gay (and what issue would there be if you were?) but there's something of the preening, lavender-scented man about you.

Don't worry though, I'm the same. Just after a different fashion. And a million times sexier.

^ bwahahahah <3 ;)

Codshit - I'll just sit quite contently knowing you are wrong...you wouldn't know good tripe if it hit you in the face. And nah it's OK I have my own cock to marvel at - I don't need to take it any further than that, faggot.

What do you think builders and lumberjacks do - they pretty much do a work out all day - generally monday to friday, just not pounding it - what do you think the shaolin monks do in kung fu training?

Because you're an arrogant ignorant closeminded brainwashed boy - You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong You're wrong.

Just one for posterity - You're wrong.

You're not meant to be scared when I say I'll give you a shout when I come to Inverness - it's simply a bit of sport bruv - you know get a bit bloody, sort out differences.

Is that in women's clothes fashion sam? :)

I should (by way of BL policy) infract you for that.

You're obviously not in a stable state of mind, however, so I'll merely ask you to tone it down. Okay? No more homophobia, please. I very much enjoy hitting homophobes with the modstick. :)

Moppers: I'll only wear their jumpers or cardies these days. Some things are just too fuckin' creepy, like. ;)

If youre trying to say you can work the same muscle groups every day and get the best gains that is flat out wrong. Just the act of exercising every day isnt bad though, as long as you switch muscle groups. Your muscles want some time to heal up before you just give em hell again. Also why stretching out before and after a workout is important (yet horribly ignored!)
