Best places in Aus to live

I also would have to say Darwin
I grew up there and since have been back many times. In fact my dad goes up every year to buy about 20 bottles of "Darwin Chili" from Mary at the Parap markets, and damn her laksa is good too. I am hoping once I graduate to travel a bit then land a job up in the NT :)

Northern Tas is great. Cheap rent, housing, awesome summer weather. Downside, bogans, availability of quality drugs and cold winter but not as cold as some might think.

Maybe I should go Melbourne next time, I enjoyed the 3 theme parks and girls and clubs :D :D I wanna move there, I guess anythings better than old Perth but...

Byron Bay, NSW

Yeah if you are a millionaire. BB town is really expensive now for real estate. But I agree, it's an awesome place.

I'd say the Byron Shire tho, the outer villages are where it's at these days for me, unless you like living amongst backpackers and travellers all yr round in a very expensive area.

Mullum, Federal, Brunswick heads, Bangalow even Clunes and Rosebank which are much more affordable to buy or rent at and are only 30-40 mins away from BB town.

good to see mullum getting rep'd!!!

after living the high speed life in adelaide, mullum will certainly slow you down again...

coming from adelaide you won't be able to bring those lights up though :) you would have to 'put up' with the bush

jake you should do a road trip up the coast and suss it all out. good time to do it now as its probably starting to cool off down there hey

o yeh, theres no meanies or subs up here, you would also have to 'put up' with the goldies cubes haha thats not so bad though is it :)

what's wrong with the gold coast? I lived there for 6 months, probably the best place I have lived. Keep in mind I mean south gold coast, near the QLD NSW border. There are hundreds of little towns close by, so much fun to go for a random drive and explore them all

oh man I love Mullumbimby. It's in such a beautiful part of the world. I love that whole area. Tyalgum, Chillingham, Uki, even Murwillumbah <3

This thread is making me want to go on a road trip to NSW. If only it wasnt going to cost me so much from Perth...

That Frankston pic is hilarious! Is that out the front of Centrelink?

for natural beauty south western australia (margaret river) or nth NSW are some of the most beautiful areas i have ever been

Freemantle is a cool place, i randomly went there after being fed up with melb for 8 months or so, perth in general is nice but i spent most of my time in Freo, i dare say its expensive though as i was there 10 years ago

If you have a trade then moving to rural areas is easier, if you dont have a particular trade or skill and need to pick up work obviously you need to be in or near a city, i have spent a reasonable amount of time in sydney and brisbane but melb is by far the most interesting in my opinion. Sure it can be dreary but if you get out and about and explore the cultural aspects, food , music etc then the weather is not really a factor

If you want a city and beaches and couldnt care less about good food and music then i guess syd is the obvious choice

Yep Freo is expensive if you want to live near the action + $600 pw for rent. Unless you go a bit further out to Beaconsfield or Hamilton Hill or even Hilton.

I hope you were being sarcastic about the high speed life, the only high speed in Adelaide is the meth. I am from country SA anyways.

Roadtrip does sound like a good idea hey.

Best place to live...Adelaide!!

I stay in every city in the country, worked in many of them and I just love coming home to little old Nannylaide - relaxing, the beaches are a hidden gem and the lifestyle is heaven.

Airfares are cheap, it doesn't take much to visit anywhere in this country to get a taste and then come home to unwind.
