The Alcohol thread...

That doesn't sound like a good idea jaurk.

If her feelings aren't forthcoming whilst she's sober, there's probably a reason for that. You should respect that she doesn't want to say these things, not try and force them out of her. If she does come out with something due to being drunk, she'll probably regret it later and become even more closed off from you, and if she cottons on to your coercion, I'd say your hopes are dashed forever.

Thanks for that footscrazy, I was getting a bit too out of it there.
I needed the kick in the butt, didn't think about her point of view.

Nevertheless, I shall see what comes out her, I wont push anything, let her make the first moves if she wishes.
I find it hard to push people to do anything anyway, was always taught to have 100% consent over every person's choices.

This is the first time I've ever been in this situation, so it will be new and interesting to me.
Though it might be old for some of the older drinkers here.

Even when I'm blind drunk, I generally don't become aggresive or force anyone to do anything.
I'm really glad that I'm not a cunt when drunk, at the same time it dissalows me to make a lot of advancements.

Anyways, ramble ramble ramble, better leave before I can't stop :P

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. But shots of anything will work. Maybe you could drink water and give her vodka or something. Still, I don't like the idea and think it will turn out bad.

Alcohol -

When you run out of good stuff it does the job :) :) :)

Coronas ftw, i dont drink often, but its preety good for a social lubricant wjhen you got niothing else :) :)

Yeah, I use it entirely for a social lubricant - or at least I used to. I figured since I don't ever talk to people in person unless I'm on some social drug, like amp. or alcohol, then perhaps it's time to just get over my social anxieties and talk to people sober. The only exception with this is codeine, but that hardly does anything to impact on my social skills. Anyway, I hate alcohol now; recently it's done nothing but give me headaches and slight disorientation - no euphoria or anything. In fact, it makes me feel downright sad most of the time.

I only use it as a social lubricant too, I'm going to be testing alcohol with Methylphenidate.
I'll try not to die.

(doing it on St. Patricks day, lots of alcohol so I'll try not to over drink and die.)

For anyone who's in here with alcohol considering combining it with methylphenidate.
The effects are generally likened, as they negate the bad side effects of each other.
Methylphenidate will keep you clear headed and energized and social for the come up, killing the retarded motor skills expanding libido.
And alcohol will keep you social and make you happy (IME).

That's not the best description though.

This is like speedballing in a sense, CNS depressant + CNS stimulant.
It sends wrong signals to your heart, and if one runs out (generally methylphenidate) the alcohol can knock you down in 2-3 minutes.

The ethylphenidate which is produced when
(alcohol takes the methyl and creates ethyl
eg. Cocaethylene, Methylphenidate -> ethylphenidate, and other stimualnts that do this)
This ethylphenidate is produced in the liver, but in VERY small amount, and it more toxic than methylphenidate.

This combination is common for partiers, who like to party all night long, perhaps more than 1 night (dangerous).

Alot of people are gonna disagree with me on this but I don't care.

I think alcohol is like one of the worst drugs out there. I absolutely hate drinking, I hate the taste of alcohol and the uncontrollable effects of it. When ever I drink I don't have a good time, that drunken downer alcohol feeling is like once of the worst feelings ever. To me alcohol is like the most evil drug and it should be illegal or become more regulated.

Amen.

Seconded that, I'm actually surprised that it is LEGAL! I mean what is the government thinking? It kills more people than all the drugs combined, causes so many problems but lets keep it legal because it makes us money and taxes. Pfftt. If illicit drugs are illegal then ban alcohol as well! Im really angry that the previous generations were able to be manipulated by the government. Now days we are all brainwashed and led on to believe all their bullshit.

I agree that alcohol is one of the crappiest drugs, though I do love a beer. I don't think it should be illegal though. I think all drugs should be legalised, from crappy to awesome - people should be able to choose what they put in their own bodies, whether that's something as damaging as alcohol or not.

Good luck with that. :)

I'm also not a fan of alcohol but I don't think it should be illegal; especially since I also think we need to legalize other substances. I do think that something does need to be done to help prevent the damages of alcohol, which are incredibly high. Maybe divert the money spent on anti-drug campaigns to helping prevent alcohol abuse.

I reckon alcohol needs to be much more regulated. I see too many kids these days out in town who can't handle their alcohol and they end up in punch ups or just do something really stupid that hurt themselves and the people around them. Every time I go town on a Friday or Saturday night I see at least 10 or more incidents involving alcohol and hundreds of vomit puddles on the streets. Bringing up the legal drinking age to 21 would be a good start.

Is it really only under 21's vomitting and causing trouble? Sounding like a broken record but it is only a few that ruin it for all. Personally I'd be happy for a zero tolerance crackdown by police on street hoods. Crack some skulls on the way to the watch house if they must. None of my friends have a problem with a night out on alcohol (but then again perhaps that's why they are my friends) so why should we have to put up with crap from scumbags?

There is nothing wrong with alcohol, you just need to be taught how to use it. In Europe it is normal to be introduced to drinking wine with a meal around 10-12 yr old. The same should be done with drinking beer. What other drug is such a perfect compliment to a nice cheese platter than a nice white? Mdma? Opiates? Nothing hits the spot after a long hot day working in the sun than a chilled beer. I couldn't face a spliff with sweat pouring off me.

I don't think alcohol should be illegal.
More regulation? No thanks, more education.

Just because some teenagers who get all of the media attention binge drink, doesn't mean that it should be taken away from everyone.
Some people just have a beer or 2 after work.

"There is nothing wrong with alcohol, you just need to be taught how to use it."

Exactly, people are not taught how much to drink, I know I would get fucking SMASHED because I didn't know how much to drink, or waht types of liqueur do what.
School teaches a lot of crap with soem good stuff, but fails to teach how to live!
(Unless you do dumb-arse classes.)

Busty: I hate fucking cheese.

Yes, Europe has a very different drinking culture to us. I think at this point it would take a lot to change that here. I'd like to see the police crack down on certain behaviors in public as well (seeing as it's their job). Education would make a huge difference. The reason I sometimes think 21 would be a better age is that if that policy was used in conjunction with better education, it might allow people to soak in the idea that binge drinking is not such a good thing before they are able to make the choice to do it.

Hey guys a bit off topic but i m fucking spun to death and would like tell the story of my trip to australia as european backpackers with turned in a drug fueled road trip do you think it' appropriate to post it here? I mean in the australian discussion?

Mr Blonde, I'd have you pegged as lactose intolerant ;)

I was lucky I guess I went to a private boys college and we were allowed to drink in year 12 at some school functions. "Pass the port" at important dinners, a beer to celebrate the end of the rugby season. It didn't stop us smashing it hard at private parties (or drug use being rampant), but there was a level of responsiblity given to your own actions that a lot of kids don't face until they are suddenly out of school today.
