Truckload of oxycodone (70,000 bottles) stolen while driver buys cigarettes

The driver may or may not have been in on it, probably was. Someone where the truck left from could have been in on it. This happens more than you think. It's mostly organized crime but also some crews, they follow the truck with another truck with a forklift or two in the back. Snatch the truck, drive a while, grab the pallets, dip. That way they can do it anywhere, don't have to drive the truck to a certain location.

Maybe that's why people around who usually only deal in girl or hard have a bunch of A 30s, although not cheap at all. I thought maybe they were related to another thread where people were talking about there maybe being some fake 30s going around the east coast since I hadn't gotten any of those since they were so pricey.

^truckers do this all the time, when i drove cross country a few years back i stopped at all sorts of truck stops and they would park and leave the truck idling. those big trucks take a while to heat up esp since they are diesel, so in the cold why turn the truck off when you can leave it on. plus id be willing to bet most truck drivers are thinking who the hell would steal a semi truck and trailer?

as cool as it would be to think that some incredibly lucky individual just happened across an unlocked running truck filled with rx drugs, its probably more likely that it was an inside job as others have pointed out. i wonder how many shipments that size regularly leave the plant. that robbery could have been planned months in advance, waiting for the company to send out its next big order to their distributor

If I did find the truck I don't think I would know how to drive it. I don't know how to drive standard, :o and I'm pretty sure trucks have a lot shifting of gears.

Apparently those fuckers have like 18 gears or something crazy like that, if thats true then god damn.

I wonder if this is why for the last two months I have had to go to 30+ different Walgreens in my county just to find one who has any of the 30mg oxy ir's in stock to fill my pain management prescriptions? It's great for the thieves, but it's REALLY FUCKED OVER a lot of pain management patients. Assholes.

That being said, if I came across a truck load (literally) of oxy I can't say for sure I wouldn't do the same. j/k :)

maybe...

Everyone in Vegas has had nothing but trouble filling their scripts for the last week, or so. I had checked, or called every pharmacy in town. I was trying to help my dad fill his 'scripts. Even the regular LARGE corporate pharmacies are OUT. I was told by one pharmacist about a large shipment being stolen.

I have to say a lot of this sounds like an "urban legend". Unfortunately I have heard about this "truck" being Hijacked from so many people. I am beginning to believe it. Especially since my dad, and I heard it from two (2) different pharmacies.

This is not hearsay or scuttlebutt.* The pharmaceutical company itself divulged the information.

*Since I got kicked out of the Navy, I've been looking for an opportunity to use the word "scuttlebutt".

My boy still buys pills once in a while. He picked up four blues the other day, all with the "A/215" markings. I just laughed.

I'd bet they weren't the ones from the truck, but I just thought that was funny.

what is a pallete? are these full bottles of complete pills headed to distribution? or something that needs to be finished?

and truckers always leave the truck on. they have a million+ miles on them and take a lot of abuse. the temperature is a big thing too. cops always leave their cars on too as well as taxis.

still think its too much coincidence. oxy and xanax and gaba? in one truck? probably paid the driver to get cigs and take a shit and whatever else cause with the GPS on a shipment like that they would be found within minutes, probably by a helicopter.

Pallets are just what the forklift loads onto the truck. They'd be what the boxes of pills are on and you'd need abit of time to unload a large shipment and your not going to do it in say 10 minutes unless you have about 4 forklifts going at once like crazy.. So it would be easy enough to find someone who can drive a big truck and get to a secure location and offload it. I bet they switched trucks maybe at another warehouse or something.

most cutthroat thing i have ever read. must be nice.

You would think it would be profitable to have a security car or something follow that kind of shipment. a lot of drugs to be in one mans hands.

I also doubt the driver would know exactly what his shipment contained

Yeah, like a wide load that has those cars in the front & back with the lights flashing...............thing is, a regular truck with 2 police cars in front & back would have people thinking, I bet there is something worth big money in that truck & give them a reason to hit it, then again, seeing 2 cop cars would probably keep them at bay.

dude ive thought about this so many times, theres a walgreens distribution center like 25 minutes from my house. lol i would NEVER do it tho, way too risky, I have a good future ahead of me that doesn't involve crime and prison. i wonder if the dude will get caught.
