So who has used Tramadol?

I regularly take tram and effexor

I knew I would find someone making this incredibly dangerous mistake.

If you don't stop taking tramadol and effexor together there is a fairly good chance you will suffer acute serotonin syndrome and possible death. I wish someone had warned me about this before I made such a mistake.

Go to your Effexor packet and read the booklet inside, it explicitly says to not use it with Tramadol, and they're not joking, it's written there for a VERY good reason.

If you don't believe me feel free to search Bluelight and Google for all the people who were a little less fortunate than me and ended up dying from taking these 2 chemicals together.

Ignore this warning at your own peril.

From WebMD: Effexor XR Oral + SSRIs/SNRIs = Medical warning:

Serious. These medicines may interact and cause very harmful effects. Taking these medicines together may increase your risk of having a seizure or may result in "serotonin syndrome," which may be life threatening.

PS: I can't PM anyone yet so will someone send him a PM alerting him to this message, and the fact that his life is in danger from what he's doing.... ty.

As for tramadol, I had a fucked up experience when I used 700mg of tramadol without realizing that celecoxib I was taking was a CYP2D6 inhibitor! Damn that was a weird night, hallucinations, memory holes, depressed for a few days afterwards.

What you most likely experienced was mild serotonin syndrome, which produces very intense hallucinations, once again, don't EVER under any circumstances take Tramadol with an anti-depressant, as you run a high risk of going into a coma and potentially dying from respiratory failure.

You have the SRs? You have to grind them up really well before you have them. Chomp on them heaps if you can grit through the taste. I just finished my lsat 4 50mg trams, which i was prescribed last week. For my wisdom teeth though. I'm enjoying them, they work pretty well

hey thanx for the advise. I did do that but no joy yet... wanted to take it slow as I havent had any before but wondering whether to try another one or not...

I think enough time has passed that you would be safe taking another, so long as you don't plan on drinking a bunch more or anything. Also make sure not to exceed 400mg of tramadol in a day as this increases your risk of seizures.

quit dragging up boring old subjects. i used it for a fractured finger once or thrice and it was similar to an anti-depressant effect, like taking 4 mg of edronax...uncomfortable, with no fucking pain relief.

^^ if people want info, why should they not drag up old threads?
it prompts others to read the thread from the beginning whilst adding more info to one thread.

me, i found tramadol did nothing, but i'm not sure what the pain in my legs is classed as, so perhaps just the wrong drug for the situation.
i went upto 400mg in one dose before giving up, i did get a tiny bit of nausea but that was about it.

still a bit shattered we have no intermediate painkiller between tramadol and oxys...
i was given digesic recently, but i would class it more of a brother to tramadol and had a similar experience.

It's true. He must spend a lot of time reading through here and not remembering much.

On subject I tried tramadol at 100mg, was nice but not over powering. 200 or so would have been nicer but was all I had.

Dextropropoxyphene is, in my professional view, a shitty pain killer. Probably only equivalent to paracetamol in terms of analgesia, and the FDA late last year banned it's use in the states due to the risk of arrhythmia.

I've tried it a few times; most of them were at 50-100mg, didn't do too much for me. I then had a crazy night in Thailand and used 900mg or so in total or more... can't really remember. Felt very serotonergic, didn't notice much opioid activity at all though to be fair I had a high opioid tolerance. For the next few days felt very depressed, like an MDMA comedown. Wasn't worth it.

yeah, i warned my mrs about the toxicity of Dextropropoxyphene, she wanted to munch 10 for some fun lol
2-4 would just give me nausea and a heavy feeling.

just want to know how many mertazapine i need to take to never wake up i have 30mg tabs i just wanna fall asleep and never bother anyone again

Leroyb, I'd like to hear why you're so down on yourself, and why you're making such a profound statement for your first post on Bluelight. I'd just like to remind you that this website's purpose is for the sake of harm reduction, rather than promoting suicide - as it's a very, very unnerving thing. Feel free to message me privately regarding it, if you wish. Or, for more public advice you could post on 'The Dark Side' area of Bluelight (http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/forums/47-The-Dark-Side).

Suicide is a permanent fix to a temporary problem, you may be going through a rough patch in your life atm, but dont do anything stupid, think about your family how it would impact them, just keep going and you will find it easier I promise.

Were not here to help you kill yourself, and the fact you came onto a harm reduction site tells me you are calling out for help. There are many people going through the same thing you are, why dont you head over to The Dark Side, people are very understanding and WILL help you through whatever is going on in your life.

Swing me a PM if you like but please head over to the dark side forum as there are many people going through what you are at the moment and will help you.

Peace, Love Take care.

Leroy, it'd be better if you could tell us what's happening that makes you feel this way? There are a lot of people on the forum who have felt like that before... myself included. Sometimes it seemed like it was the only option that was left, but given that I'm still here today that was obviously not the case. Like 88Breno said, there is a forum here, The Dark Side, dedicated to support for people in situations like this. It's been a few hours now so I hope you've already reached out to someone to get some help. :)

I loved tramadol. i took it every day for 4.5 months.my dr asked why i wanted it & i said cuz its making my feel good. he was actually giving it to me as an AD. He precribed 180 pills all at once including 100mg ER & some 50 IR.
ive been told that if u space out the doses u get more of the opiod effect.
btw i found 150mg-200mg my sweet spot with it. it felt like an OD of an AD at higher doses. but yeah u can avoid that by spacing out the doses.
it should be precribed as an AD as i find it a weaker pain killers than codeine mg for mg

edit. i just did a quick read of this page only.
do not OD on mirtazepine if ya wanna OD on something atleast make it something pleasant.
that sounded bad right? i mean dont try to OD on anything ffs. I just dont know what to say when ppl commend on suicide because i know EVERYBODY has there breaking point so i wont judge anyone. all i can say is my life is pretty shitty. ive been diagonosed with mental illness & have though about it but all u have to do is think about hope. maybe u wont feel good today or maybe not ever but just try to keep the hope that things will be ok alive.
thats what gets me through the dark times. worst thing for me is taking speed & than drinking with it. always makes me question what the fuck the meaning of life is. but it goes away.

I tried once 50 mg and don't like it, even on the next day my coordination was affected. I almost got into bike accident. never got coordination problems from natural opiates.

Uggh Moderators should be alerted to this post, ASAP. Poor guy is going to commit suicide...

I have been on tramadol (ultram) now for about three years. I began taking tramadol because I was taking other opiates such as hydrocodone, oxycodone and I had a problem with addiction. I was told that tramadol was non-addictive however I was wrong. It did prevent withdrawal symptoms. I consumed around 150mg at once up to three times a day. It gave me a strange "high" but I took it because its so easy to get. Its not a controlled substance (yet) and doctors usually have no problems writing a prescription. I decided that I needed to discontinue my use of tramadol when I began taking up to 20 a day. I found the withdrawals to be just the same as other opiates if not worse. Severe depression (I'm not a doc but I'm told it effects your seretonim (spelling?) as if I stopped taking prozac at once. The diarrhea, nausea, sweats etc was horrible. I had to slowly wean myself off the drug. So please beware TRAMADOL IS ADDICTIVE! If you would like more information send me a message. Jeremy
