*******bluelight meet up********

You should really castrate your cat for its own health, full toms are notorious for fighting for their territory, and there are enough unwanted kittens in the world! An uncastrated tom will take off looking for a lady and may never come back again...

Yes Bluebell, i agree with you a 100000000000% If you don't get your Tom neutered then he will end up getting into vicious fights with other Toms, he could end up loosing an eye or some other awful injury! Many cats go off & hide when they are badly injured, so he could end up dieing! :(

Also the UK along withe every where else is over run with feral cats, sadly 1000's of feral cats are put down every year coz people don't neuter! Other die of hunger/cold/cruelty. The feral cats that survive have hard lives, the Toms constantly fight & the poor auld females spend their time having kittens. Its so hard for these females to rare kittens & many Mothers & kittens often die an awful death, so if your cat is not neutered he will be adding to this problem! :(

I spend all my free time doing TNR for feral cats. I set up humane traps, catch feral cats & then bring them to the vet for a check up & to be neutered. Trap, Neuter, Return stops all the unwanted kittens & it gives the feral cats a much better quality if life! A neutered feral cat can live a longer & healthier life, they only have look after themselves instead of having to looking after kittens. I also feed many colonies of feral cats, its all so rewarding! I love them all! :)

Your Tom will live a happy & healthy life if you have him neutered! & he won't be adding to the feral problem! :) Plus it will stop him spraying around your house, its really stinks the whole house up when they spray!!! as he gets older he will spray every corner of your house to mark his territory!

He is a beautiful cat! That is a great photo! He looks well looked after! He looks like a really happy little fella! :)

I wish i could go to the Bluelight get together! But i live too far away!!! 8(

Would be nice to go to one as I've only been to one and it was a hoot (remember the xmas bash B9/zophen organized years ago in Newcastle?); it was great to meet the people behind the posts and sometimes be totally surprised as they looked nowt like the mental image I'd developed of how I thought they'd look - got it right with a couple of people but for the most part was wrong, sometimes incredibly wrong! There were a couple of people who ever since I met that night that I got on with so well in person that we exchange pressies at xmas, invites for a visit etc (yes Fishface, I will eventually get my act together and come visit you again - well if you & the missus would still have me).

So anyway, if one were to occur 'oop north' I'd be interested in it (yes I know it's an age where travel isn't difficult, but I do, irrationally, find big social gatherings somewhat intimidating and the longer the journey, the more time I have to find excuses to not attend. Sad, I know, but hey I'ma tad older than most on here and you're allowed more eccentricities as you age =D). Can even promote the harm reduction ethos - this is what will happen to you when you get older if you don't exercise moderation in your drug intake! =D.

Is this something you do as voluntary work? Just that if so, would you be kind enough to send me details of such things? I've applied to the RSPCA to do voluntary work at a big local cattery - I know it'll just be mostly shovelling cat shit - cleaning their litter trays, maintaining their enviroment etc, but my ex used to be a vet. nurse and we ended up having a small colony of our own as she was a sucker for the rescue cases and I've always had cats since I moved out of my folks place; I can see how the ancient Egyptians ended up worshipping them as I find them fascinating and brilliant company. Basically I'm looking to do voluntary work and to be honest, much prefer working with animals than people (yes I can be a right misanthropic old git from years of experiencing the fucked up things people can do to each other because of egos, greed or many other destructive human traits), so something like that would be just up my street. Thanks

I might be up for this, though I don't really know many of you that well. :/ Though no longer having an other half I expect I will be on here more often, so that is likely to change.

Boomtown looks resonably priced, seems like a sensible spot.

Probably worth going just for f&b's autograph, if you can drag him down saaf!

Of the handful I've been to all have been made of win. Tad Brizzle-centric, mind. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing but did involve an eight hour train journey back last time. Replacement bus services ftl :|

Bulby Baby raises an interesting thang though, much as I <3 me southern BL Bredrin I've never really been Ooop North (Glasgae once or twice (Sadie/Roby <3) aside) so would be rather up for that sometime. Travel issues being the pisser. Floorspace for at least a day or so of recovery required sadly. Actually, same would apply darn saaarth too at my age :D

BL meets have so far been win all round so get on it folks. Specific gig plans tend to go to shit though - piss-up/brewery :\

Yep its voluntary work! Although a lot of the time i have to pay myself to have the feral cats neutered, i go to a vet that does it at a reduced rate! I'll PM you! Kitten season has started so they are crying out for people to Trap/Neuter/Return! :)

Ofc :D

Once my life is a little more stable I am going to arrange a Brizzle meet up. Honest. Am also heading up Newcastle-wards over Easter so maybe something could be arranged then for the Northern folk amongst us?

Ah shit forgot to reply to your pm - I can't this weekend anymore, sorry :( but sure I will catch you at a rave at the dirty duck soon!

Indeed, probably something with a flyer like this :)

I'm heading up deep North to Aberdeen late May..
7+ hours on the train <3

Any Scottish folk on here?

Anyone going to the 4/20 protest in Newcastle? I will be there if anyone wants to smoke a joint :)

^ My brother is going to Bath this weekend should have taken him up on the offer to come with!

Same goes for me - anybody unlucky enough to end up in Milan, I'm here for another two/three months before fooking off to the Andalusian wilderness/the Deep South of Italy for the foreseeable future.

i like Milan . Nice place had a good time their.
