[MEGA]Idiosyncratic/Unusual Responses to Cannabis

Alex000, I've read that in a medical book & health class lol. *shrugs* I don't know if it's 100% true but it sure as hell has kept me away from it!

Let me assure you, it is 100 % false. LSD is perfectly benign, and a wonderful psychadelic. Health classes spew falsehoods out left and right, don't buy into the propaganda.

Apparently it's pretty toxic to elephants. So if you happen to be an elephant you might want to avoid LSD. Otherwise, toxicity wise, it's one of the safest drugs you can do. Again, that's IF you're not an elephant.

Thanks for the responses - and thanks to company health insurance, I am headed to a neurologist who can hopefully give me some more information on this, and ensure its not something more serious. Other people smoked from the exact same bowl, and mentioned getting thoroughly stoned, but nothing more... I am typically a cannabis proponent, and am very aware that saying "Weed caused a seizure" is exceptionally unusual, and entirely undocumented. However, I have no doubt that from the moment I took that bong rip, I just kept getting higher and higher - the root cause is entirely unknown, but the trigger for the 'mental seizure-type event' almost certainly was the THC.

SPC123, your experience seems really, really similar to mine - which is quite encouraging given the strange circumstances I find myself in. I also had a coke earlier in the day, and I rarely have caffeine, so I think that this may have helped lower my seizure threshold. Again, just guesses at this point.

This was the first time I have experienced something this strong, and I have no history of any sort of mental illness, seizure, depression, or anything at all. Though there was one occasion, about 10 months ago, when I smoked a bowl of weed (my weed, my pipe) at a Pretty Lights concert. I was in the crowd, quickly smoked the bowl, and had tunnel vision and similar mental state set in. It was not as overwhelming or intense, and it went away after less than 60 seconds, but it could be demonstrating some sort of trigger that randomly gets set off.

And uh, lets just move on from the "LSD makes your brain bleed, I swear its true" nonsenses, no need to dignify that line of thought with any further response.

I found for about a year after my episode I would have instances where I would feel woozy and even get tunnel vision for a bit, but I never passed out. Haven't had any issues since. Scared the crap out of me, but all's well that ends well I guess.

ive had sonething similar to a seizure before so was curious to read your story - i know abit about fits though - i know people can get 'warning' signs or 'preminitions' of when they about to fit and its different for everyone - sone might smell burning sone might feel numbness somewhere maybe your ears started hurting...? some people can have a seizure once and thats the end of it - im sure i had a seizure but as nothing else has happened since i figured why go to a doctor? all they can do is afew tests to see if they think you are potentially epileptic or not. unfortunatly epilepsey as i understand it is a very individual thing - everyone experiences it differently. some people fit get up and walk away other people they fit and their whole day is ruined - half asleep / unconscious confused dazed and disorianted...

as for the weed... i guess its possible it was laced believe me even trusted sources can sometimes be tainted! unless ive made that bong / joint myself im stickin to the drink! its really hard to say what happened though - couldve been weed related - couldve been that regardless of drugs you were prone to have a fit anyway - or maybe it was a random meaningless blip? but if your getting checked out thats cool id say keep us informed so if anyone else experiences it theyve can see the whole story of what happened to you

I'd go to a doctor. First off, if it was last night it's possible that a blood sample might still show positive for any toxins/drugs you may have ingested. Additionally you will want to make sure this was not a symptom of something more serious.

I had an experience once on an airplane. I had drank about 7 beers, then ate a meal on board. I asked for another roll and they brought me an entire meal, so I ate it. Heh. About 15 minutes later I felt really sick. I was sweating and felt like I was going to puke. I walked to the bathroom, and developed tunnel vision on my way. I reached for the door and everything went black. I can vaguely remember hitting the floor. When I came to there were a couple of stewardesses next to me with oxygen. My doctor referred me to an otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist) who ordered a whole battery of tests. Everything came up clean so I assume it was just a result of alcohol and fatigue. At least I know it wasn't epilepsy or a tumor.

Go to a doctor and get checked out. Good luck!

just re-read that you potentially had a seizure yet you get referred to an ENT dr?! what?! i dont fully understand it but if you have a seizure its your brain going haywire (for woteva reason...) so surely an MRI scan wouldve been more appropiate...? sorry off topic (but i already posted a response just had to ask this question :p)

A seizure can be a symptom of a serious underlying illness. Although it's highly unlikely, a hospital visit can catch things like tumors. Again, it's highly unlikely, but if a seizure is caused by cancer, the earlier you catch it the better the outcome. This is why a hospital visit is a good idea. A blood clot, localized swelling, or any number of other potentially fatal brain injuries can cause seizures. Highly unlikely, but why take a chance, however small, with your life?

I didn't have a seizure. I simply passed out. This can often be caused by an inner ear problem, particularly when you take pressure changes on an airplane into account. Hittingswitches had the presence of mind to keep on his feet, which is usually impossible during a seizure. So it is possible that he didn't have a seizure, and simply blacked out. Only a medical professional is capable of making an exact diagnosis. Hence, it is highly advisable to seek medical attention.

I am glad you are seeking medical advice, seizures should always be investigated.. as kaywholed said it is possible that the timing was coincidental, these things do happen. I hope you are okay and a neurologist can figure out what is going on, what a horrible experience!

Babygurl, LSD does not make your brain bleed and that is not what causes you to trip......

Anyway I'm moving this to Cannabis Discussion as we don't cover cannabis in BDD.

BDD > CD

Sounds like half seizure half panic attack. The grass probably made you panic and at the same time you had some kind oif mini seizure. It is shit when things like this happen, especialy with cannabis as weed always seems like good ol' reliable but it really jitters you if you start to worry about smoking.

There is no causal evidence to prove that it was the weed that induced the seizer. It may have, it may not have. Regardless if you are having seizures you should consult a real doctor, as that is a serious medical symptom from ailments that are best treated in early stages.

Well said. I agree 100%

This threads made my brain bleed, from seizure questions to YOUR WEED IS LACED M8 to lsd making the brain bleed...fuck me.

I'm out CD.

This is what I was just thinking. Come on people first of all there are active and passive seizures, and just passing out is not a seizure...
While people have reported smoking LSD, you didn't. LSD is a benign substance that can turn quite the new leaf in one's life.
Were you on any medication like Xanax? (Psychopharmacology is believed to have a misdiagnosis rate around 90 percent.)
It's more likely that the Fluoride compounds (toxic waste meant to kill your health and fertility while making you less motivated and more prone to cancer on record) in your water gave you a seizure than the cannabis. No I suspect you were smoking Spice or a synthesis of a JWH drop on the cannabis that caused this.

Spice drops, embalming fluid, PCP, crushed up pills, bath salts, even cocaine could be suspect, but it's unlikely cannabis is. One clinically proven medicinal property of cannabis is treatment and prevention of epileptic seizures. And yes, if you search for the medical journals behind cannabis there are a ton of authentic ones out there with significant results. Check out Rick Simpson's Run from the cure.

Morning Weed-sickness

First of all weed is the first drug I tried, 19 now and been smoking for 5 years, only ever stopped when supplies run dry which happened a few years back and when my dirty bong gave me Bronchitis and I almost couldn't breathe, which affected my smoking habits.

Recently(Last couple of months) I have been having some very heavy nights with weed and even though I feel amazing in the evening it's almost like it has started making me become a light-weight in the morning, and normally smoking more perked me up a bit but it's almost like it has finally caught up with me.

Any tips on getting rid off this morning weed sickness if anyone else gets it, because I'm getting to the point where I feel bad without a smoke and awful in the mornings for smoking. (Evenings are fine, I just smoke all night and experimenting without other drugs has lead me to weed causing the problem)

Is it a good use of money, I love my weed but I have never tried a vaporizer as my friends who have bought them before got about 3 uses out of it and it broke.

Not sure if this is a common occurrence with them but he spent £300 on that one which really put me off the idea.

Can't help feeling like my mates don't know what to do and broke it but does seem like a lot of money for a decent one.

It all depends on the kind that you want. With Vaporizers, you get what you pay for. If you don't mind spending around 200 USD, try the Vapir N02 :)

It was just ganja - I saw it taken out of the baggie, though I cannot absolutely prove that there was nothing else on it / in it. Perhaps there was some sort of chemical contamination? Its something I cannot rule out.

I was on no drugs other than the caffeine from a single 12oz bottle of coke I had with dinner, I have no prescriptions nor history of abuse of any drug. I had taken mushrooms 5 days prior, and had taken pure MDMA (crystals) 35 days prior, so nothing should have been "floating around" in the system.

I am still highly suspicious of what I think was some unknown RC that I took under the assumption that it was LSD several months ago, as that was the only other major "mental health event" in my life, where I had this intensely sharp pain on the right side of my brain. This was a pain that remained for at least an hour before gradually fading away, though I maintained all of my senses. Starting then, I occasionally had very mild headaches in a similar area of the brain, so perhaps there was some sort of damage to brain causing it to fail when stimulated? I felt like what happened to me on Saturday was a continuation of this sort of event. This is why I didn't post in this thread to begin with.

I did not have a panic attack from weed, I am sure of this. I have years of toking experience, and have seen though never experienced a panic attack in my entire life. In fact, I didn't even feel scared until I had already starting to recover and realized the potential significance. I think the intense pain in my ears was the aura of the oncoming seizure. This was not a "getting my blood pressure up" moment, this was a "all of my senses faded into blackness except my hearing, as I heard my body jerk and smack up against the bathroom door for a few seconds." Fun stuff!

Thankfully I feel totally fine now, though I wonder about my sense of time still being slightly distorted... these things are very hard to quantify and I think it may just be my mental clock taking a little bit to reset from the experience.
